SearchBar Ex - Search Widget

Great functionality! ...super convenient to go to one place on my phone to search so many apps, fav. sites, etc. BTW, I'm using an old phone w/ Android 7. One suggestion...a help section that covers the options in the Custom Search creation dialog. ie, examples of commands that can be utilized, etc.

FINALLY, a viable replacement for the ages old OpenSearch app. I've been carrying that one from device to device since it's no longer on the play store. SearchBarEX has more options and does everything I need and more. Unfortunately, this app has a significant bug. I haven't been able to figure out why, but certain random words and phrases seem to incorrectly trigger the keyword function. It erases what I've typed and switches to a different search engine.

I've been using the app for years, and I loved it. For about a year or so, though, the search bar will just delete what you are typing WHILE you are typing it. There is no rhyme or reason. For the longest time I thought I was just accidentally clicking the backspace button, but I've read other reviews that say they are having the same issue. As soon as I find a replacement, I am deleting the app.

For well over a year it has had the same issue which is, it will just clear your search as you're typing it in. This has been a known issue, many others have given the same feedback. But they don't fix it. Shame, if it didn't do that, decent search app. But because of that issue it's junk. I finally deleted it and found a better one.

I like that this widget does my searches in Google chrome so I can go back to the search if need be BUT the search bar crashes with certain letter combinations or words. For this not to happen I have to use voice to text. It's so weird. Please fix. Adding transparency options to the widget would be a win as well. Thanks

*PLS FIX CONTACTS- DOESN'T SEARCH, ONLY OPENS CONTACTS APP. THANK U! Search engines offered are awesome, pls add more. Design of widget is imho ugly. Pls improve & offer more colors. I color-code evthng on homescreen to find quicker, need this widget to be Mint Green but u only offer 8 odd colors. I'm premium/paid user; it cld be alot better w/design (or at least improve it slightly as I kno ur busy), & need to FIX CONTACTS. Otherwise it's really great, offers so many useful searches, one click!

Great app, could use better instructions and an update. To create custom search bars, go to the desired search page and search [something]. Copy the url and paste it into the url for the app's custom search bar, but replace [something] with [%s]. Extremely useful - I use it for Reddit, manga, totally legal music sites, etc. So I've upgraded to premium. Unfortunately, this app doesn't work with the integrated file explorer on my S10, or any other file explorer I've tried. Devs pls come back orz

I've been using this app for years instead of Google assistant. It's amazing that it still works after 4 years without updates but sometimes when typing it suddenly clears the text. I'd happily pay for a premium version if it was still maintained.

This is a nice app but I find it infuriating complicated to operate and set up. It is far from intuitive. If you persevere you will get it to do what you want but it is likely to invoke swearing and infuriation in the process. The developer needs to rethink it entirely.

I really wish I knew about this app a long time ago! I did my research and tried some other apps, and this is absolutely the best app to search multiple websites and apps quickly. I wish the search bar remembered my previous search inquiry for me to more quickly select another website/app to search instead of selecting the website/app and selecting the search inquiry from the drop down history. This would make searching even faster. I will still recommend this app to anyone, especially students!

It would be great to have an ability to hide divider between search bar and status bar (it seems ugly with black color). And also to be able to hide the search icon and mic icon.

Would be perfect if wasn't soooo difficult to find how to adjust widget boarders and colours. Just reinstalled it after a phone software update and can't, for the life of me, workout how I put boarders/outlines on my widget last time I set it up. Drives me mad!

I'm changing my mobile phone from Samsung Galaxy M30s to M31s (almost similar specs, UI & OS). I'm trying to Backup Settings from old phone to new one by exporting file. BUT AFTER IMPORTING BACKUP FILE IN NEW PHONE, NOTHING HAPPENS, NOTHING CHANGES. (My old search history, custom shortcuts, appearance of the app NOTHING IS BEING IMPORTED.) BOTH PHONES HAVE LATEST APP VERSIONS WITH ALL PERMISSIONS GRANTED. PLEASE HELP. UPDATE THE APP IF NECESSARY.

Set timer 10minutes voice note opens in browser, it should start timer as stock search bar does. One line widget keeps sidebar open, it doesnt happen when opening it with icon. Add option for reduced data mode when on mobile data. (No suggestions Eg)

This application is very bad. It works on homescreen in mobile but it is not works in setting for search the options. So this application is very bad.

I love this app. It's so simple, but it has the best widgets I've found. It supports all sorts of search engines like DuckDuckGo, and it has plenty of themes to match your home screen.

Cool and simple app. It will be perfect if we can chose color by customize by my self (like color picker). And I hope we can make corner look rounded. (Sorry for my bad English)

Convenient replacement for the long-resented by me google search bar. Now, for 5 stars, REPLACE THE VOICE RECOGNITION ENGINE WITH NON-GOOGLE. Mic icon can have theme change to minimal white magnifying glass icon stays dark. Please make the magnifier icon design configurable too. It's looking terrible in a prime position on home page as it is!

its a little confusing and im not even sure how to use all the features. i was just looking for a simple replacement to the default google search widget. i now see that my duckduckgo browser came with one.

I don't think the developers still update the app, but the IMDb search only works if the IMDb app is closed and would be great to have support for the Wikipedia app. Great app.

Was confused at first. You need to add the Search instead of the app, I the left column. And the magic happens! Thank you for this simple, yet effective and useful app :-)

Works perfect. Making the widget more round would make it look nicer and fit better with the rest of the apps.

I love the notification feature. Just got Android 12 with Samsung UI 4. Apps in notification shade are tiny. Any fix? Resizing through app doesn't work.

Search bar disappeared from home screen and all attempts to get it back failed. My phone thinks it's installed but cannot find it.

I've been using this for ages but noticed, as others have mentioned, that text sometimes clears randomly. It's incredibly frustrating.

Really useful app. Have tested loads of different apps like this and it is by far the best. Quite concerned that there have been no updates for 4 years though!

Unusable due to unintuitive UI without any help/manual. It probably can do everything I want it to do, but I can't find out how.

Loved it on my S4. But on my TAB S2 with stock Samsung keyboard does not show predictive text (row just above the keyboard). Too bad, otherwise a great search widget.

So glad I found this! Ever since I enabled Google Assistant the search bar google widget I use changed to assistant and only served to answer questions instead of providing search results which I use more often. I was about to disable google assistant before finding this.
