This is a simple app that just reads the instructions to the players. It is useful for people just learning the game but it has a fatal flaw. When the phone makes the screen goes blank from not touching it, the voice stops. Since the instructions are to close your eyes you can't start it back up very easily.
We played multiple times, I wish there was different dialogs and like a continuation of some kind. Like the narrator was also playing with us. It's fun and the voice actor is good too. ☺️
I mean, the apps good if you dont have someone who is confident in narrating this bit themselves. But it is reasonably simple and can be done without the app.
The narration is nice but the audio stops when the screen turns off which makes it impracticable for its purpose.
useful to have someone narrate for you, but it stops playing if the phone goes to sleep. The app should stop the phone sleeping or keep playing while the phone is asleep.
Not necessary for the game. I just like the variations Wil Wheaton does on subsequent go throughs.

This is a handy tool. The start for Secret Hitler isn't as complicated as some other similar games like Resistance: Avalon, so you can get by without this, but it's convenient and definitely worth using just for the over the top dramatic narration. (Some German music in the background would be a nice addition to set the mood, but not necessary.) Wil Wheaton or whoever wrote the dialog, thank you for creating the phrase "thumb bunker".
Always fun for newcomers. However the app doesn't acquire a wake lock and the audio goes on for awhile. The game can be messed up if I have to open my eyes in the middle of the "night" to re-wake up my phone to continue where it left off. If it happens at the wrong time we have to start completely over.
