One of the only Android applications left that actually respects your right to privacy and actually works! Android OS collects lots of data and caches huge amounts of junk files. iShredder will clean the bloat and give you back lost diskspace, usually loads! I have it on good authority that big updates are coming soon to make it even better! Whether you want to wipe a drive fully, erase Freespace, or just clean junk and erase unwanted files, video or documents, then iShredder is for you! 10/10
Very disappointed. Paid for upgrade, tried to wipe free space and it says it's going to wipe my whole drive, too. Selecting files to shred is tedious and confusing. All in all just a waste of time and money. Shreddit is free and simple and works. Don't waste your time and money with this horrible app. UPDATE: Oh HELL NO!! I uninstalled the app and put it back on and now it's telling me that I have to pay for an upgrade again. I don't know who this company is but they're screwing everybody!
I purchased the military version of the app for a previous phone. When I went to re-install on a new phone, it required I purchase the product. I wrote customer service and explained the issue, and was granted a refund...that I never received. Now, I'm getting the run around. Beware! Eventually, you will upgrade your phone and find yourself feeling scammed out of your hard earned money.
Great app with easy and useful interface. Keep it up! But one thing that after I had upated the app yesterday, it crashed everytime when it was erasing the empty space(full disk option) for ten to twenty minutes no matter which algorithm I picked. Supplementary info: I used "Pin" function in Android 10 device when using the app and gave no internet access for it.
Uh, I suppose this sounds stupid, but I'm not sure what to do at the startup screen. The choice is Selective erasing OR File explorer. What does that mean? Which do I choose to wipe free space? And which to erase certain files? I'm worried I might erase something by mistake. Also, permissions are required, but again it's not clear what's going on and which are essential or optional. Could support please explain how to use this app for newbies.
Excellent App. Outstanding customer service! Had to reinstall the app on a phone I was getting rid of. But, my paid version was not being recognized... emailed ustomer support and literally within minutes they responded. Refunded the original purchase price and I purchased again. Still don't know how google screwed that one up. Maybe they were just being evil. But ishredder people are top notch, fast, and effective. Thank you.
I'm running Android 9 and this app will freeze if shredding multiple files at once. Also if you shred a picture file, the thumbnail of the shredded picture still appears, if you try to post photos through another app. One way to get rid of that thumbnail is to restart the phone. This app appears to have bugs that need fixing.
Seemed ok for a while, then started getting Denial of Service errors and 'Unusual Network Traffic' (according to Google). Several of my accounts refused to log in due to thier respective servers detecting problems. Once I uninstalled this app, everything went back to normal. So, either the app has a flaw that's been compromised, or the app itself is interfering with communication on my phone. So I would say, for now at least, Avoid This App.
Review for free version Does exactly what the developer claims. I used yo build and sell pcs, and had alot of old hdds. The only way to clear the data was to write over then delete, rinse and repeat. The free version of this app does exactly that, without the repeat. I will definitely pay for the full version if i need to. But the free version fits my needs right now. And no adverts, as far as i can tell. Thank you devs for making an app that just does what its meant to. 5+*
I've had this app for over a year and it's never fixed the one problem I have. This app will not work in the background! Maybe 4% an hour, maybe. But if I leave the screen on it will go very fast. I want to run a higher algorithm but can't leave my phone on and unlocked for 12 hours without using it aswel.
Desktop grade features, with none of that subscription BS. The prices are fair. I have some minor criticisms, the lakack of details for each teir, please elaborate. Also the multiple overwight passes shouldn't be encouraged. They are not needed and are based on a single paper from the 1970 proposing overwritten data on HDD's could be recovered which hasn't been proven. SSD's are completely different and one passed is enough as identifying the previous bit state is currently impossible.
Corrupted my SD card. Can't delete files on there and it made a .freespaceeraser file taking up every bit of space. I left it on for some Nine Hours but it would not finish. Contacted support but they couldn't help. Be careful or like me you may lose your entire drive. Not even able to successfully format or move to another device to format there. Horrible experience.
I bought the pro version and my first 2 attempts at a freespace wipe froze on "preparing data" and left 90gbs of my device memory full. After waiting hours I restarted my phone and my memory was free again..Tried a single pass free space wipe and that worked fine.... I'm using a Pixel 6 with Android 12
I run the app to wipe the free space several times with ProtectStar Options (4 passes), and other options with 1 or 2 passes. The process run for about 1 hour and then I used a simple app like 'Recover Deleted Files' and all the files are still there and recoverable !!! So this Secure Erase is useless.
The military version (9.95) dosen't work. The app does exactly the same functions as the free version except it freezes constantly needing to restart the phone to shut it "off". Very unhappy i wasted 10 bucks on it. Can't say its easy to use CAUSE IT DONT WORK
I'm currently having issues with connecting to mounted devices. Contacted support, waiting on response. Purchased the mil-spec ver. it's great, but got me quick to buy was what's not working at the moment lol. Oh, also it's actually really quick with wiping too in comparison to others I'm familiar with - that's definitely another good thing.
< DO NOT INSTALL > This app does not erase selected data. I selected clear free space(To overwrite free space to keep from being recovered) and once it finished I ran my phone through recovery software, and I was still able to find hundreds of pictures I deleted long ago.
The app itself isn't terrible, It's the support that's really disappointing. After my last phone rebuild, I reinstalled iShredder but only the basic, free version was available, not the PRO version that I'd paid for and previously reinstalled. According to ProtectStar support, Google made them change how they offer paid app upgrades and they no longer recognized my paid upgrade, forcing me to pay, AGAIN, for the same app. Major BS! So I've shredded iShredder. Goodbye!
A very good app that does all you can want to ensure full deletion of files. It's well worth paying for the full version. There are a lot of of shredding methods and I wonder why so many when they have the same number of passes. It would be nice to have some information about the differences between these methods. I would also really like to see an estimate of the time to be taken for shredding as it can be be very long.
Disapointng. I had this app before on a different device and loved it. All the "improvements" and changes have bloated it and made it ineffective. It crashed both times I attempted to use it. Uninstalled, not recommended.
This app "bricked" 3 sd cards on my Samsung phone. I was shredding free space and the app frozed up. The sd cards can not mounted or reuse. There's a giant file in each sd card that ate up all the storage. Afraid to use it on my internal phone storage because it might brick my expensive phone. I stopped using this app.
Great, No files found after overwrite... The reviews stating that files were found, are probably pranks or psychological warfare operators, attempting to make people paranoid about devices that they have relinquished control of. I will tell you it works great. After the 1st time I ran it no files were found. However I did overwrite it about another 16 times...
This doesnt do anything. I ran three times in a row. and another recovery app was finding over 2000 items that were deleted last year. this app just makes it appear it does something but really does nothing. just a base for ad revenue clearly
Disappointed. I just upgraded to professional version. It deleted all the songs in the music folder. Furthermore, Recoverypro app can recover the photos I had deleted before. I want a refund.
Me app is crawling running really slow. I had to repurchase the app in hopes that I could get faster performance. I should not have to repurchase the app. I've contacted support in the past but they have not responded. I hope they respond this time. I cannot recommend this app.
Operation speed was poor in Android 11. Clearance of app cache could not be done (it worked properly in Android 10). Navigation does not allow to go back to last panel when file erasure was completed. Awaiting new version to fix the issues.
Trying the free version before buying the full featured one. When attempting a freespace shred, iShredder only reports the SD card (SD0) as available for freespace erase. I do not see internal storage. Since it was my intention to clean file fragments from internal storage that makes iShredder rather useless. Am I missing something?
It appears to clean files, caches, free space, or what items you select. It gives detailed reports. It appears to work well. The free version prompted me that I could only wipe a set amount of data per day. Though it doesn't restrict the amounts of free space you can wipe. That was a surprise. I wish it had an ability to examine some of the wiped areas for reassurance that it's doing the job. But with that, the app seems to work well. Thank you for the app iShredder!! I read some of the other reviews: The app freezes up? Sometimes the percentage completed stays at zero and elapsed timer is working. Chill! It will finish and give you a report! The photos you deleted only to find the photos still present? Those digger apps will find thumbnails in various clipboards and image caches. The error is likely your oversight. Look at the file size. Do some research!!
