The app is pretty good, but it seems like the devices could make better pictures. I got myself a compact pro and noticed a problem. If there is not enough temerature difference, the pictures get very noisy. The option to set the temperature scale manually would solve that problem but it is annoying to switch between the different modes all the time. It would be nice if there would be the option to set a minimum temp. difference in normal or fullframe mode (e.g. 10° C) to reduce the image noise.
It's cool when it works but its buggy, crashes often and the temperature reading is unreliable and rarely accurate. If you restart the app 5 times in a row it will give 5 different temperatures. The modes are hard to figure out and not well documented. The videos are worse than nothing and should be replaced with a PDF manual. Has potential but needs a lot of improvement.
Redmi note 9pro. Nothing works in Preferences menu. I still can see the picture and choose from the color mappings, so the gadget does its job, but beyond that the app is totally useless. And I'd love to be able to disable auto-level adjustment, and see the output as is. I believe there is some switch for that, but I couldn't locate it.
Update: After back and forth with Seek support, the problem was determined to be a setting on my phone. The display was set to Zoom in under Accessibility. This prevented me from scrolling down and choosing 'Opt-out' which is required because the Create New Logon server is down and crashes the app when selected. Short answer is to choose Opt-out when given the option. I haven't used the camera much yet but I felt I needed to at least change my star rating and review 1st. Original post: App shuts down when attempting to create sign in. The camera won't work unless this step is completed. I tried it on 2 different devices.
When lock screen comes on and I re-enable camera is grainy and have to shut app down and restart. Settings are hard to use and icons seem useless to distinguish purpose. This feedback keeps applying words I am not typing. Very unhappy with this new version and appears this has changed my resolution as pictures of same item are now bad. Still have problem with rotation and zooming. This program appears to be heading in a bad direction and I do not know why this is happening. Very unhappy now when sort of worked before. Why do you just make it a normal camera driver.
I used to have a flir 1 camera jacket which was good. But the Seek thermal along with the app work really well. Having had and used both camera and app for a little over two years now and having no issues I would recommend both the camera and the app. Keep up the great work.
The 'hotter than x' mode doesn't have enough contrast and it doesn't disable the auto contrast / auto aperture type function making it very bad. A shame. It's a simple software fix to make it usable. Simple; just show me things hotter than X, and nothing else. Disable the auto aperture function when in this mode.
App refuses to open unless given unlimited & unnecessary permissions. This app makes a $500.00 infrared camera useless. It, & the camera, are a ripoff. I haven't been able to get the camera to work with any of 4 phones I have had since I bought it. It won't work with USB C, it points the wrong way for usb-b it won't work with adapters. It is a waste of time and money.
The app is good when its running but has a super annoying permissions dialog. I always have to accept usb permissions each time I use the app, no way to remember permissions. I always have to plug in the device after the app is launched otherwise the usb permissions dialog flashes on and off upon start up forcing me to remove the device and reconnect again to get the permissions dialog.
Very good app. It works. In an emergency you can see exactly where veins are located for intravenous administration for an untrained attendant assisting someone or self administration of intravenous meds necessary for some like myself. Only thing I would improve is the sharpness and detail of the imaging. Higher contrast and maybe provide an option to select a different color scheme for colorblindness or sensitivity to light.
