Great game, I wish there were more characters. I don't like how you need to "loot" stages in order to get tokens to unlock characters. It takes too long and easily drains all of your energy, and it's not even certain that you'll get a token each time you loot a stage, the chances are against you in most cases. Which makes unlocking new characters, especially ones that require lots of tokens, difficult and not as enjoyable as it should be. Otherwise, I loved it.

The art style and gameplay is good. It very quickly became apparent that this is going to be a pay to win game. Such a shame that the requirement came so quickly after starting. UPDATE - It seems the devs have listened as the difficulty and drop rate of items appear to have been amended. I may be wrong, Still slow progress but not as apparent as the initial release.

The game was enjoyable enough, with the slow pace of progression offset by the ability to eventually obtain any character or upgrade through free-to-play means. However, with a recent update they've shifted a lot of content behind a much, much stricter barrier. Don't bother starting this game unless you're planning to shell out some serious cash. Otherwise, you're going to be stuck with the same limited roster of characters for months and you'll have very little opportunity for strategic teambuilding. It's very annoying that I've wasted quite a bit of time on this game only for the developers to do a bait-and-switch.

I loved seeing all the classic Sega characters, and the presentation is high throughout. Very addictive and it is possible to get very far without spending a penny. I've never played one of these kind of games before, so some of the concepts could have been better explained (as a quick example, it took a long time for me to realize that the number next to an enemies energy bar is the turns until they fight back. Obvious in hindsight but still) Addictive and fun

Great game!! However, the arena system puts you at a disadvantage. Every opponent is drastically overpowered compared to your own, and there is not enough coins to upgrade your heroes well enough to fight them. The issue of using rare characters in a battle between a lower ranked player and a higher ranked player also makes a major disadvantage worse.

Goes from easy to hard in a short space of time. Appears to be engineered to get you interested, then frustrate you and then make you spend (real) money on upgrades to allow progression. On the upside there are no adverts and the gameplay is enjoyable initially. But beware, it is hard to progress through without paying for the privilege.

The game is fun and is interesting because of the nostalgic Sega characters, but it's really frustrating after the initial period of play. If you don't spend $$$$$, then your progress in upgrading and acquiring characters will be really slow. Moreover, the prices for things are ridiculous! $27.99? $54.99?!?!?! Lastly, you will often encounter chain reactions of tiles where you either destroy your enemy in one second or you get destroyed in one second...

Well. I guess I need to update this now that things have progressed the way they have. The new arena set up is a pretty transparent attempt at monetizing more of the game. And I don't mean transparent in the good way. While having different characters boosted sounds like a way to give different players a fighting chance but it's clearly it's just to get you to spend on these specific characters after they've served their usefulness is adventure mode. Have fun working back up through the ranks.

Great to see the classic characters. Played the pre release version then upgraded to the official current version. The game changed, goals are unatainable, even the map changed to a point where I can't even reach without paying. On top of this, the farming rate dropped so low, it made it impossibly long (WEEKS for one level up on one character) to grow. Will delete until further notice. Sorry. It was a good childhood flashback at first...

Fun, colorful, and challenging. There is strategy in puzzle, battle, and economy (purchases with a variety of in game currency, some of which can be exchanged). Be careful, the gamification of collecting currencies to buy upgrades and heroes can be very addicting. This is NOT a play-to-win game; but there are many in-game purchase offers.

Amazing game, but we should be able to battle our friends in the arena!!! when this feature is added, then 5 stars from me! Also if possible make the story section playable offline, (and it could sync our progress when we come back online)... There were many instances where i didn't have Internet and wanted to play the game, but couldn't... Overall a wonderful and fun game, keep up the great work guys!!!!

lots of potential, with new updates and stuff there's plenty of work being put into it. But boy is there a quick paywall. Once you get to chapter 4 you struggle to get through without spending money, which only makes me want to spend money less. Not to mention the prices on the "sales" are high for no reason. Gameplay is solid, music is good animations are smooth but you're not getting far without spending, the free characters are pretty much useless after a certain point.

I love the graphics and the variety of music with the stages. But overall this game is just alright. It's pretty straightforward but it's a bit hard. I'm not sure if I'm playing wrong or something but I keep getting wrecked by teams that are at least 90+ levels below mine when trying to play through the begining campaign. It gets a bit frustrating when there are teams that I should be beating with a small challenge that just demolish my team and I can't really level up my characters to match.

Staff are great and friendly when technical issues arise. Game is easy to pick up and play with numerous paths to achieve unlockable content. I awarded it 2 stars because 1. Its pricey to unlock content you want. 2. There isnt much replay factor other than unlocking favourite characters which are extremely difficult to unlock if you are a newcomer and/or you have to spend big money as mentioned in point 1. 3. There is a decent story line in there some where. But feels never ending to get to.

The recent update made it so the team i was building for the last 6 months is useless now. they are under powered and now i have to redo my team to be competitive again and drop money on the pay to play characters. Overall it's a fun addictive game. Easy to pick up and play and lots of features to keep you playing. Once you get to a certain point the enemy levels are far beyond yours and you either farm for months or pay ridiculous amount of money to advance.

This is a really good game. it's based on strategy and the graphics look nice as well. I love the different characters from SEGA. All coming together as one to defeat the new villian. It also has epic challenges that you can beat and get better equipment for your team. All in all this game should get what it deserves a great rating. Good job SEGA.

This game can be fustrating at times. Its fun at the beginning but, as you progress through the levels you may notice that you are suddenly dealing with overpowered enemies and it becomes difficult to progress through the game without some sort of purchase. Not that it is impossible but, difficult. Sega should make leveling up alot easier in the game. Your characters will have a really slow leveling up process unless you pay money. Not my ideal cup of tea if you ask me.

Phi. B. Jan 11, 2019

It has a good concept. Excellent idea for re-igniting fans love for sega characters. But still very limited at this point with a great need to grow quickly before people lose interest. Limited characters at this point. Isn't going to compete with marvel quest for instance yet. Also the gameplay is already starting to feel a bit repetitive and the story is bland, really bland... im still on every now and then but less and less

InO. Jan 11, 2020

The game overall is pretty fun and rewarding, with how many free chests you get every day. It does get rather difficult as you find it harder and harder to improve your power rating the further you go, but once you finally reach a point where you improve, it is very rewarding. It does feel pay-to-win sometimes - and having an auto-battle option makes the battles feel pointless sometimes, but it is a welcome addition since the battles tend to be long and repetitive - but it is worth checking out.

A. G. u. Nov 19, 2018

It's fairly good. Midway through world 4 now and seems to be going smooth. No crazy upscale yet. Only gripe I have is when you use the speed up in battle, the BGM and sounds effects speed up also. The effects I understand but the BGM is a bit too much to put up with. All in all, I'm looking forward to future updates and seeing how this evolves.

And. L. Feb 27, 2020

Marked down from 5 stars. The new update says it's to help calculate numbers better when competing against opponents but, all I see is they have made it more difficult to make my way through zones. Yesterday I was very close to being able to tackle a new zone. Now, I'm no where near strong enough. It looks like its gonna be a very long time before I can progress through the next portion of the game. Very disappointed and it makes me less liking to even wanna open the app.
