Seizario: Seizure and Fall Detection

Seizario was designed for the Epilepsy community. It monitors the phone movement (using sensors in the phone) and attempts to detect convulsions associated with tonic clonic seizures, and different types of falls. No wearable device or hardware is needed (except for the phone). When an emergency situation is suspected, an alarm is triggered on the phone, and if not disarmed within a preset time an alert message is sent to pre-specified emergency contacts so help can provided in a timely manner. All data is privately processed locally on the phone itself and no information is shared with any server or third party.

An emergency button is provided to trigger the alert messages manually as needed. With two simple taps you can send an alert to your loved ones. A safety 'switch' is designed to prevent triggering alerts by mistake.

Simple and intuitive interface helps you setup your emergency contacts, seizure intensity and other app preferences. You need to do this setup once when you initially install the app.

The app does not share any information with any party. No data collection. No ads.

This app has won numerous awards from professional associations of Epilepsy experts, computer science experts, among others. It won the innovation shark tank competition of the Epilepsy Foundation of America. For more details please visit the Seizario.com website.

Permissions and Data Privacy:
- The app accesses the location information during emergencies to include in the alert message sent to your emergency contacts. No location information is shared with any other party.
- The app sends alert messages using SMS/texting to your emergency contacts (if you set up those contacts). This happens when an emergency is suspected (and alarm is not disarmed), or when you use the emergency button manually. No SMS/texts are sent otherwise.
- No private information or data is collected using this app that can identify the user in any way. You can send 'Feedback' to the developers if you so choose by pressing the 'Feedback' button and then selecting the method of email sharing you want (e.g., gmail). Any information you select to share in your feedback email will be used by the developers to help you in your app setup and usage, and to improve future versions of the app. No private information will be shared with any other party.
- The app accesses the storage of your device to log/store information on the phone for you to view later on if you so choose (as journal log). This information is not shared by the app with any other party.
- The app needs permission to wake up the phone when the screen is off in case of emergency detection. This allows for continuous detection and alarm ability for the app so long as the phone is on the person and is functioning.
- The app needs permission to get email account information (username). This is used to locally authorize the testers using this app and give them permission to use the app. No account information is shared by the app with any party.

Profits over safety wins again. This app used to be free for the most part but now everything is behind a pay wall. Used to have 3 ICE but now you can only have one. Fall detection uesd to be free but now you have to pay for it. Can't get to any settings without pay. I can no longer trust this app to alert my loved ones when I'm in need.

The only problem I see is that the emergency message service defaults to "off" once the app has closed or screen goes dark. If there were an option to keep that always on I would say this app is perfect in every way. Can this please be fixed? I've seen other commentors with the same concern. I want to be assured this message will be sent and not have to check every few minutes to make sure its still enabled. Again, great job on the app. Thank you very much.

It's an amazing and useful app but it recently started disabling itself and I have to remember to look at my notification bar to make sure it's on. Edit: it has definitely improved imo. However, the new name does NOT make sense. Its closer to epipen than epilepsy. Seizario made 100% sense. I've spoken to a few people regarding this, as they're my emergency contacts, and they agree with me about the name. You should change it back and put the person who thought of this new name in timeout.

Simple interface, there is room for this to be a great app

Unreliable. It keeps turning off functionality on its own. Useless!

Does exactly what it says! Easy to use and clean looking user interface, no bugs that I can detect, highly customizable, and best of all no ads or popups! I have really bad seizures everyday, and my partner doesn't always know about them. Knowing my family and friends will be alerted gives me peace of mind. I'm really thankful to have found this app. It has saved my life. 5 out of 5.

Very useful. Detected at least one of my seizures in the 2 weeks I've had it. Detected a fall correctly too! Had an issue with the colors being navy blue on black, wrote the Devs about it. Got both a reply & a fix in a timely manner. Thanks for making this wonderful app! I look forward to future updates!

This app has potential if it can be used on Android Wear (i.e. wearables like Galaxy watch etc) (PLEASE add the option for those with watches) otherwise it's not really useful for my needs. It is easy to navigate. Neat app. Just not practical for 24/7 use. I would pay $5- $10 per month if I could add this to my samsung watch. I have seizures while sleeping. So watch app would be so much better.

This is the best detector weve found for my loved one. Bluetooth wasnt an option so Embrace was not. This app doesnt even require data so this beats all others period! Now my loved one can have a spare phone with this app in an armband and feel comfortable that her loved ones know about her seizure and i do too! Because this app can by adjusted ,no false detections ! And my loved one can also just throw the phone or jostle it to cause the detection if need be. This app is the best one !

---- 2021-03-18 Review ---- I have modified my review after the development team reached out and told me the "Fall Detection" feature would be grandfathered in for any existing user of the software, and that a software bug, since corrected, lead to it not being available for me. Also note, it seem this new version corrects the Fall Detection periodically needing to be reenabled. Great work Amir and the HealthAppy Tech team! ---- Below was review before 2021-03-18 --- It was an OK app, and I was excited to see a new version released that might address some of the nagging issues, like detection periodically needing to be manually reenabled. HOWEVER be aware that with the March 2021 update, "Fall Detection" is now a "premium feature".

This app has potential. I would give it more stars; however, the app self shuts down on my Galaxy 8 after a few minutes. I am constantly having to check to make sure it is running. I have corresponded with the developer, and he said they may look at this problem in their next update. I hope so because I can not find another app that actually works.

Even at the most sensitive setting we had to shake the phone so hard to get an alert it obviously would not have detected a seizure. We tried on multiple devices. Also-if the app could work reliably a phone call seems better than a text.

Not sure how I feel about the app just yet but I was looking to see if they had a version for smartwatches and haven't found one. It would be nice if they could since it would be everything I need.

absolutely amazing. Better than the Lifeline $45 month necklace I used to have. I simply wear my phone in a sports arm band on my arm and it it will detect falls and seizures and text 911 and whoever else you list (in case your 911 services doesn't support text)

you guys need to at least allow people to have more than one emergency contact without having to pay. I mean come on you're playing with a life-or-death situation, have a little compassion. If one person is not reachable for this type of emergency another one needs to be available and not everyone has money to be paying monthly for an app to let their family know if they're having a seizure. Especially if that person is having nocturnal seizures and doesn't even know it.

Please make an app compatible with watches. I have a Samsung Active 2, and don't always have my phone on me, but am always wearing my watch! It would be so helpful! I would give it 5 stars if it had a watch compatible app

It's too sensitive and sends false alarms for falls no matter what setting I use. Then once I dropped my phone and it did not detect at all. Very disappointing

Walking with phone in my pocket set of alert. Glad it works as well as it does. Extremely grateful it doesn't break the bank!

Incredible all around! Gives my family and me peace of mind. And with the journal I take all the information to my doctor who loves this app. Amazing!

Thank you guys so much for creating this app, it's has changed my life so much and I am able to live a much more independent life because of this wonderful app. You guys are doing an amazing job and I look forward to seeing future updates. Thank you again, you've changed my life for the better and I am really appreciative. 🙌

Sends up false alarms and triggers for no reason when the phone is perfectly still away from me and then it started messing with the other apps on my phone It made my phone glitch and now i can't fix it

Fin. B. Apr 14, 2020

I would use this, but I'm afraid of it being too sensitive. I drop my phone on the carpet a lot and don't want to send off a false alarm every 30 minutes.

I've been looking for an app like this. I have seizures and I fall sometimes. This may help and it has emergency press.
