Selective Silence

Works fine with my Gmail contacts by name/number with selection list for specific incoming #s per contact name. Note if you have Phone Silencer app active this will restart silence after incoming whitelisted callers & prompt for new time to enable ringer.

The reason I installed it was that I wanted my phone silent at night when I'm sleeping, but knowing my dad wasn't doing well I wanted emergencies to come through, ie calls from his care home and/or immediate family since I don't have a land line. I installed it, and had someone phone me to test it. It worked then. But the morning my father died, I woke up to 7 missed calls from the care home and from my sister whose calls were supposed to ring. I wouldn't rely on this thing working.

. Works just fine on my Samsung Epic 4G, but when it rings it is kinda quiet. Also I have to laugh at the review from Rachelle Yakubu that says "did not silence any calls." This is an app to make sure calls from specific people still ring even while the phone is on silent. Read the description next time, seriously.

Does just what it says, and really comes in handy. It would be even better if there were a feature like iOS's "Do Not Disturb" where it silences the first call but allows the ringer if the same caller calls back within 3 minutes. Still, a great app even as-is.

Perfect for when I travel. If my family needs me at night it will ring me otherwise I can have a peaceful night's sleep. Saw other review about the volume level is too low when it comes of of silent. The trick is that you put the phone on silent from the menu rather than using the volume button.

Works perfectly as advertised. I had family call me on the phone while set on silent/vibrate and all calls had ringtone. The only issue I had was there was no way to set the volume higher on the selected callers. I would assume that those that say it didn't work or had missed calls when asleep was that the ringtones were low in volume.

Another reason why I love android, Most of time my phone is on silent and vibration and I couldn't get notification from mom dad and they yell me afterwards but this solved it omg 🙌🙌😂😂😂

This was a smart action on my last phone and I missed it as i have my home number call me if my alarm goes off and its not much good if phone is on silent. It does miss the first ring which may not be such a bad thing depending on the situation you may want silence. Bad side only works if on vibrate

Loving the app, it works perfectly fine for me. It's a very simple, clean app, does exactly what it has to do. Ideal if you want to have a good nights sleep and don't want to get bothered by all the texts coming in, but do want to be woken up whenever someone important calls.

I put the numbers I want to ring. I tried it but it didn't work . When I put the number am I suppose to press the sound button so it will turn to an x so it will sound

Works beautifully. Only 4 stars because most (but not all) contacts add in as Unknown. Haven't figured out the pattern yet.

Searching for app that allows certain numbers to ring through when phone USD on silent. This one got vibration

Only shows a name and picture for one of my contacts and doesn't ring threw. I was looking for something that worked like my old phone. It had a setting that rang for only contacts I set no matter how they contacted me. Rather disappointed!

I used this app for a long time with my Galaxy s3 and it worked very well. Now I have an s7 and it doesn't work for me anymore.

Call does not ring when phone is set to silent. Great concept though. Hope you are able to work out the compatibility.

Does not work at all. Added a number to it and had it call me several times and was greeted with silence. Glad I tested this before it was an actual emergency. Completely useless.

So far so good. Tested it out, wished it worked when you toggled the volume down too. Also would be awesome if it worked with Sound Manager.

Probably a good app, but just didn't work with my phone. tried on silent, on vibrate, after restarting. Uninstalling to try another app.

This is the most serious application in this matter, no ads & very soft. Some users are saying that they cant turn the mobile copletely silent as this aplication will continue running and those private contacts (who are allowed to call in silet mode) will continue to ring even if you require a full silent mode such as in the cinema or in an important meeting, the solution is very simple, just open the application and beside each VIP contact you'll find a speaker, tap it and the speaker will turn into a silent speaker which means this contact will not ring, repeat with all VIP contact, I beleive in older versions there is no speaker beside the VIP contact, either to update or just go to settings then sound then volume and reduce the volume as much as you like until getting the complete silent mode.

This didn't work and I really wanted it to because of where the app maker is from! Fix this and consider adding in text msg silent too.

I have sm-g900v rooted with lineageOS and it does not work at all. Phone rings on silent even though test number has been added

Didn't work. Media volume was turned up. Contact was added correctly. Still buzzed when set to vibrate only.

Will not make my phone ring when on silent. It will only vibrate. Please fix this and you will get five stars.

I hv s6 and it works fine for the second time. For the 1st time it beeps. Kindly rectify.

Had this in my original Moto Droid and now in Moto Droid 3. Works flawlessly. Someone mentioned no name and picture appear in list. That is not true.

Simple, no frills. Does exactly what it says and super easy to use. This is an integrated feature on Blackberries and I missed it. Glad to have it back!

Downloaded on my samsung s5, and it doesn't work. Contacts I select to ring while on silent only vibrate, and only sometimes.

Needs to turn volume to full when switching from silent. On my SGS2 if the volume is turned down by the volume buttons until it is silent the phone will only restore to the lowest volume before silent. This makes it nearly useless. However, when the phone volume is switched directly from full volume to silent from the drop down this works great and the ringer is at full volume for the contracts selected. Please fix this and it will be 5 stars!!
