Sucks so bad I want to quit my job, I've literally turned down jobs because they use service titan and now I'm stuck using it because they have great sales people and horrible software development. Tried to warn my company, all techs hate it, office staff hates it.....it's the worst. Super buggy and completely unintuitive. FML they talk a good game but can't back it up. I loved my job, now I'm posting a new resume......
More recently, the app has requested access to biometric sensors on my Samsung Galaxy Watch. There is zero reason for any function of this app to use those sensors. App continually asks to have location permissions updated. Setting is "only while app is in use" and im not changing it. If this app suddenly requires constant location access, thats not going to fly.
As a technician, the app is seemingly designed to make everyone else job easier, EXCEPT the technicians that use it. It sends unnecessary emails when activation of a dispatch. It requires constant manual updating. Signatures are required to close dispatches. Can ONLY be logged in to one device at a time (so you're not receiving any alert from the software when getting a new dispatch). It seems to be designed for micromanagement and purely sales oriented companies.
This app and the entire system is a broken mess. Sometimes hours don't show up and the schedule frequently bugs out. What a joke of a service. Can't wait to move to another system.
Uses a lot of battery power, constantly freezes and can't sync when it has the cloud symbol and line through it. Sometimes the app arrives me on the job automatically and sometimes it doesn't, so always have to check and be sure it says working or arrived. Sends an annoying email every time I dispatch myself. There is no need to send an email, I just tapped on the dispatch button, I know I dispatched myself.
Not sure who to blame. We used to be able to view old proposals but now when a proposal is sold, it pulls up blank. Very inconvenient. When trying to copy and paste items from the jobs, it doesn't work all the time and takes up time. When the price book is updated, it would be nice to show what was changed versus going back to the dashboard and you just have to figure out what went up if you come across it.
My experience is, this app is buggy and annoying. It works though. This latest patch though is simply made to piss me off. Why would you force a notification that I can't turn off every single time I switch to a student app, minimize, access the camera through service titan, and even my screen timing out. Absolutely infuriating. Slap whoever thought that was a good idea. I KNOW IT'S RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND!
For service, awesome. For sales, I seriously feel constant aggravation with this program. It's not easy to search, look up, and filter old appointments. It's EXTREMELY sluggish to simply go from an appointment to a bid and then back to the appointment. I don't know what causes it to be so sluggish, but I hate doing follow-ups with it and that's a huge contributor to our revenue. I've told my manager, but the entire company is using it. Try something else before losing sales to Service Titan.
3 suggestions. First, should allow techs to click on and view equipment details and full history without being dispatched. When on call it helps to know such things ahead of time. Second please change the adding new equipment install date from a scroll to typeable. We often enter 10- 20 year old equipment data and the scrolling through decades is horrible. Lastly while dispatched please sync in the background so we can see our current job or sync between calls. Or make the sync opaque. Thanks
It's ok, I guess. I don't have a choice but to use this app because the company I work for uses it. I hate that it constantly freezes and I have to either back all the way out, restart my device, or uninstall/reinstall the app to get it working again. Frustrating when that happens. Other than that, it has a good layout and all the features I need as a service professional.
This app is very convenient for various field estimating functions. However, I find it to be a bit buggy. I and my coworkers frequently have to either restart the device, restart the app, reload the pricebook, and/or uninstall and reinstall the app for it to function correctly. 3 stars until the bugs are gone for good. Update 4/9/21: app seems to be more stable than before. Raised to 4 stars
Unfortunately where I work they use this program. If you like filling things out multiple times and having them randomly deleted this program is great for you. As a bonus the long loading times are just wonderful nothing like waiting 5 minutes each time you have to refresh the price book. I filled out the same form 5 times today before it took.
This app is not responsive. It takes a long time to closeout a job. I have to close app then open in order to make it work properly. Which is annoying. Dispatching and arriving is also not responsive. It doesn't matter if your app has cool features if it cant do the basic its useless.
I work for Roto Rooter in Champaign, IL. and service titan makes my daily routine so much simpler! And seeing as we are a five star company, I'd say our customers experience with our technicians via service titan is excellent as well.
App suddenly started crashing when opened. Worked fine yesterday (07/29/2019) but today it started crashing. Checked for update and saw that it indeed needed an update. Thought to myself, awesome, that's the problem and now it should work. NOPE! Now it crashes even sooner. This is how I make my money, you gotta get this fixed. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Using Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5" running on Android 8.1.0.
appearance on screen is too large. changing the font does not affect it!
Everything works. It would be nice to pair my tablet and phone so I can stay logged into both. It's more professional to use a tablet for customers but more convenient to navigate and take notes on my phone. Having to switch just adds an extra step. No big deal. But it would be nice.
App crashes constantly, can't load jobs half of the time as it says I'm no longer assigned to any jobs on a dedicated WiFi connection or full Verizon bars. Tired of having to uninstall and reinstall just to fix the issue.
If you want software that adds hours to your week, you found it. Betwen constant crashing an glitches, open service tickets that never get resolved, and ridiculous cost. Once you're locked into their ecosystem, you're pretty much screwed without lots of money and work to change. Save yourself the stress and run away from this one.
Frustrating. The refresh feature clearly isn't working too sync job data. I won't see that I have scheduled work for the next day until 2-10 hours after it's been assigned. When we are relying on an app to communicate work related information is critical that the data populates into my app.
From my experience as the technician using ipad: Constant glitches with functionality, shutting down unexpectedly, losing the time banner and back button atop the screen, losing the save button in forms constantly, losing pricing in the catalogs as well as the images, not being able to get out of a form and having to close/reopen the app. Another very import horrible designed function: WHEN NAVIGATING FROM JOB TO JOB TO RECALL INFORMATION WE ARE UNABLE TO DO SO FLUIDLY!!!!
Horrible app... needs alot of work... freezes and has alot of glitches... rescheduling sucks... need to be able to always see work orders that are "pending or waiting parts" to go back on instead of disappearing because you missed a rescheduling appointment that you can't see after you rescheduled it... also needs to keep track of hours worked per week
the buttons on this app are so tiny and are hard to press lots of times . to try and go back and or select anything is a pain . if im writing a note it makes the note screen larger then i cant make it smaller i have to scroll over to hit the next button . for my job i should receive notifications if i have a new job but i dont i have to frequently open the app and refresh to know if i have a job or not . if they fix these changes that would be great if not dont purchase.
I use this app on apple and android. Although they have their issues my company has worked directly with them to constantly improve the program. I definitely love using service titan it helps make our HVAC company much more efficient. Record keeping, inventory, dispatching and payment processing is super easy. Building the pricebook was a long hard process but now that its setup everything is smooth as butter.
Cant track tech hours day to day. Good app, relatively easy to use and makes life easier. BUT it has flaws. Quite a few small issues that cant ever seem to be resolved, customer service was very nice but wasnt able to help, had limited authority on the matters.
Ui is clunky and prone to crashing if you take photos from the app, now with a new update on my phone it won't pull pictures from the camera folder, I have to take a picture with the camera app, screenshot said photo then upload to the forms, I wouldn't recommend anyone start using service titan if they were not already using it
As a technician this app more than triples my workload with redundant items (put down your conclusions in 3 required places but only one counts). There is a section to add equipment but there doesn't seem to be a way to link the equipment to a job thus making history review impossible.
This app is just ok. Has alot of annoying flaws. For the amount of money you pay to use this service there should be hardly any problems. There are better services out there , that are more cost effective. Check them out before you get locked into Titan's unfair contact
This app has potential but it just isn't up to par with cool front. I'd like to see it grow and develop but to many issues I feel tech support doesn't even know about that causes you to loose intrest in the app over time.
Pooly designed app. Can't use tablet/phone back button to navigate backwards in the app. Can't see time of arrival/completion and total time on job after closing out a job from the tecnitian view. Can't seem to connect arrive in job and job start time buttons together, in my job as soon as I arrive on site my chargeable time starts, it's inconvenient to have to push 2 different buttons. The log out for meal break should also pause the chargeable time on the job timer. Hate having location on.
