Sesame Street and Autism

These resources are for all families, with or without children with autism. They’ll help build understanding, reduce stigma, and provide support with everyday routines.
For parents and caregivers, the Sesame Street and Autism: See Amazing in All Children app provides tools to help families with preschool children with autism, as well as help those just learning about autism celebrate differences and build bridges of acceptance.

Features include:•Articles with tips and strategies •Videos featuring real families and Sesame Street’s Abby Cadabby•8 Interactive Family Routine Cards •We're Amazing 123! digital storybook "

We recommend you use the tools and watch the videos before sharing them with your children so that you can choose what is most relevant and helpful for your family."Resources in this app are part of the Sesame Street and Autism initiative. You can access additional project materials online, at sesamestreet.org/autism.

I could see a list of 3 stories and none would work. Two you can click on and it does nothing, the 3rd one you can click on and it brings up a second page that asks you to "launch story" or add to favorites. If I click launch story i just get a screen that says "this tool works best in landscape mode" and nothing else happens. The videos won't turn on either. I don't think this app is designed for my phone....

I liked the idea they were trying to go with, however, the execution is all wrong. The app is not child friendly, nor is it very interactive. A total of like 3 things to do.

Such great tools for all kids. As an occupational therapist there are great tools to help kids with difficulty with self care skills and daily activities. Thank you!

I greatly appreciate this app as a parent unsure how to handle some situations myself and my young child loving Elmo as much as she does, app helps us both. Especially me, and myself gaining better simple awareness.thank you.

I'm an autistic 15 year old and I like that it doesn't infantilise me. We're people too, we just think more like Computers; and dare I say us autistics are smarter than quite a bit of normal folks.. Good app

I was really interested in seeing the storyboards. But they would not open. Just told me It would be better in landscape view. Didn't work when I put my phone in landscape view just had to close out button and I was taken to where the link was.

This is great for my 30 year old austistic son. Before installing this app, my little gold nugget was always scribbling on the toilet seat and defacating in the trash can. And I can't punish him for that because he cant help it. He was a big chore to handle, however this app changed everything. When I showed him this app his bad behaviour had halted immediately. My son finally moved out of the house, got a job and stopped eating chicken tenders everyday. I never thought that my gold nugget was capable of such things!I'm so proud of him! He makes around 500 million dollars each month now. This app didnt cure his autism but it sure did set him on the right path. Thank you Sesame Street. My son's name is Isaiah by the way.

I am a spec Ed teacher candidate. I tried to download this app for a classroom project and none of video links worked and many sections were unresponsive. Edit : Yes I was connected to the internet, and now I've also been talked down to by the developer.
