Seterra Geography

I love it so much that I have been playing it nonstop, comparing high scores with friends and trying to get the best time. The game has a huge number of maps. However, it doesn't always start without crashing, and the controls are clunky. Sometimes it zooms instead of making a selection and becomes irresponsive for two seconds after zooming. Also, scrolling through each map is kind of a mess, because it is slow and imprecise. Which is fine, but a bummer if you play competitively.

Good, but it seems a bit hurried. For example, the South American games start with the map in the Pacific ocean and you have to scroll to the right to be able to select many of the countries, wasting time. Also, it should be easier to select small countries, because you get penalised for apparently selecting their bigger neighbours - I found this with Togo and a few others in Africa, but most annoyingly with Chile. I'm sure this nice game will only get better.

Wonderful for learning. [EDIT: the developer let me know that you can change the settings for confirmation when tapping, so this complaint is no longer necessary "My only complaint is that it sometimes registers a scroll as a click and makes you miss."] The maps are nice with plenty of variety and I wholeheartedly recommend it. It really helps with getting to know the Earth's geography!

An amazing app and a huge help to improving geography skills. Some small suggestions for improvement: The selection works well, but sometimes the circle that you click on to select a country covers up geographical features. This is most pronounced on some of the Caribbean Islands. The flag section isn't as strong as the geography section, since there isn't much chance to select random small groups of flags.

Very good learning tool but when you scroll across the map to view the region you're looking for, oftentimes the app thinks you've selected a country/city which is annoying when you are trying to get 100%. There is an option to have to confirm your selection, but this isn't ideal. Even a double tap would be better than the confirmation, since you the confirmation button is near the bottom of the screen. Other apps I have don't have this problem. If that gets fixed I would give it 5 stars.

Overall good experience except when I use the tap and confirm setting... Your app freezes up after about one or two minutes and I have to start over. Please fix this. This does NOT happen when I am in regular mode and dont have to confirm my choices. This is VERY frustrating. I think I know why it is "freezing" up. When I change the zoom level by using pinching action on screen, it sends the app into the stratosphere to recalc positioning, country borders etc... Please advise.

Literally the best tool I have found for learning World Geography. I feel so smart now! The audio is excellent! One suggestion - add Audio for EVERYTHING. I wish I never had to read the words "audio unavailable", please... The LEARN button is the best thing, like ever. Click on the country and it tells you both with text and audio what country that is! And, my favorite thing, you can SPAMMM it all, and create "country-portmanteau's" as a basic feature. So cool! 6 stars!

I really loved the app and learned a lot of things. I have a bug that it is shutting down when I click learn or play. I didn't have this problem before and was stable for long. Once it started, it gets fixed temporarily when I clear the data but the issue starts again after a few uses. I wanted to reduce a star for it but this app is too good to be degraded even for such a bug. Kindly fix it. 😇

Seterra is a great app that suited my needs well. I personally don't find trouble with the controls as some other reviewers evidently have, but I understand the issue. I don't think that this would be the perfect app for learning the information, but I had already used flashcards and textbooks in class, and this app was a fun and engaging way to practice. As a bit of a perfectionist, I get a rush of pleasure every time I get a perfect score. Overall, my experience was five stars.

good app, best one I've found for this topic. But there is a very annoying thing about it. because of how easy it is to tap things while panning (some of the countries you can tap by tapping the ocean beside them even) its basically required to have tap and confirm on. but then in some maps, you can't pan down far enough, so the button to confirm can cover the counties if you tapped the wrong one. you have to line it up with the small space beside the button to tap it.

It's a great app for learning, but it's easy to mispress countries which is kinda annoying. Also I was kinda disappointed with how it doesn't spell out Swedish names of cities, etc. Only the country names. Edit: Turns out if I change the language to Swedish from English it does spell the names. And I did change the setting to double check. Thank you, you were very helpful! ✨

This is my favourite geography app. It's got a very nice design and many types of quizes to choose from. It's helped me freshen up what I already know and learn new things as well. Ads don't appear in a way that bothers me. However, at some point the app stopped being able to open any quiz. There's no lagging or crashing, just that the quizes never actually load after I tap on them. I'd love this to be fixed soon, as this app is very helpful to me but is currently entirely unusable.

First of all, i think this app is the most interesting way to learn geography. I love how easy it gets to learn the countries and flags. But i know that i forget lots of information when i dont repeat the exersizes. But despite of the fact that i forget, the rate i made last time stays the same. So i dont feel in need of playing again if i reach %100 once. My feedback is that if the success rate fell down with time, it could be more realistic and effective about learning. Thank you

Great for learning the world! Easy to use. Very detailed and lots of quizzes. So many categories! Countries, capitals, regions, oceans, etc. Keeps your scores so you can see your progress. I use it every day to keep my geography skills sharp! Love it and am enjoying it very much.

The content is great, nothing to say about that: LOVE IT. But you really need to work on your hitbox and the maximal time you consider a hit, because I very often end up selecting something on the map when I'm just trying to move it or zoom in/out. Never happened to me before on other geo games.

The idea of this application is great. However one issue really gets in a way of an enjoyable time: map management. You constantly get your guesses registred even when trying to scroll or pinch in/out. Obviously that impacts your score. (Update: thank you for the response. It really helped me out)

Maps are zoomed in with no option to zoom out, making it difficult to scroll around without accidentally selecting a wrong country/capital. Immediately crashes whenever I try to take a screenshot. Somewhat awkward UI. Good wealth of different map options though. Edit: dev response worked, updated to five stars.

This app is such an amazing tool to improve your knowledge in geography! It's really easy to follow and has a clean design that helps you visually memorize the geography! It also allows you to challenge yourself improving your score and it's very complete 💯 the ads are not intrusive and do not interfere with the game

We've loved Seterra for years! So happy to have the app. The only downside is that many of the maps extend past the width of the screen and when you try to move them it counts as an attempt. That being said, practicing world maps regularly makes following the news much easier and my kids appear smarter just by having a grasp of world geography.

It's great! For memorizing countries by geography and their flags, this is amazing. There's small areas to do, then add them up to finish the continent. With enough practice, you'll have it memorized! Although, I think it would be nice to see an option where you match the flag with the country on the map.

It's a quality app, useful and enjoyable. I just hate that the ads start with sound and interrupt your music. I play with other apps where the ads are not that invasive and actually that makes me more willing to watch as many as I can to support them.

Great app! The Europe: physical features should include the Carpathian mountain range, and when finding capitols it should give you an option that allows you to associate the name of the capitol with the name of the country and not just it's place on the map.

It's the best app for starting to learn geography. However, I wish they were harder versions of the most basic quizzes (eg countries of the world), like on the website. (No coloring, multiple-choice, type-in, etc)

It's fun, detailed, and well-made. The only setback is that moving through the maps to get to the correct country sometimes counts as a mis-click, just because my finger touched a country while scrolling, and this affects the score.

Very useful when it comes to memorizing the names of countries, cities and geographical features. Has a bug, thou, to be fixed (one map has some of the land in blue as if it was water) and an error to be corrected (the island of Bali mistaken for Timor).

I love this app! I'm learning German and used it as a resource to learn different countries and parts of the world in German, which has been very helpful. Thanks to this i now know every state in Germany and country in Europe by their German names (though the English name i sometimes forget) as well as the pronunciation too! Very helpful for both learning the world and a language!
