Sewing Patterns Lite

(NOTE: This free trial version is fully functional, but has a maximum limit of 10 Patterns)

Have you ever tried going on a shopping spree for new fabrics (in physical stores or online), only to feel completely lost by not knowing exactly how you would use that nice-looking piece of fabric, and end up purchasing the wrong thing - or purchasing the right thing, but in the wrong quantity - or worse, still: Leaving empty-handed?

If your answer is "yes", then Sewing Patterns will be your indispensable companion in the future. The inspiration in the form of your pattern library is right at your fingertips, wherever you go, and you can easily make sure that you purchase the right fabric in the right quantity - and with the right accessories. The app also helps you find inspiration on how to best make use of your current stash of fabric.

The app lets you gain the perfect overview in a single place, whether your patterns are purchased, found in magazines, or your own creations entirely. You can categorize your patterns based from standard garment types, or create as many of your own categories as you like. You can have your patterns sorted alphabetically, by most recent usage, or in any particular order you like. Each pattern can be associated with as many categories as you wish.

It is entirely up to you how many details you want to register for your individual patterns, but the more details you supply, the more help you will find in the built-in filtering function. When browsing your patterns, only the filled-in information is shown, so you won't have to deal with lots of empy fields.

Using the camera, you can supply your pattern details with pictures of the model, the instructions, or perhaps of the finalized garments. You can add as many pictures as you like, both for your categories and your patterns.
Use the Filter function if you need to search for a specific pattern in your pattern library, or just need inspiration for your next project, based on a specific piece of fabric.

Your Pattern collection is stored locally on your device, but you can backup and restore it via Google Drive.

In all aspects, Sewing Patterns is an indispensable app, for the experienced seamstress and the newcomer alike!

I downloaded this to see how the full would work for my organizational style and I'm really impressed. It's just what I need to sort out my ever grow mountain of patterns. It's a perfect free trial of the full app, it's a great way to show off your program without either the consumer or the creator losing any money. I honestly wish more apps did this, I'll definitely be buying the full app.

I like the UI categories. Missing filter search on the main page along with add, edit, sort.. but no, I have to hunt for it. No tags. Plus missing what types of fabric a pattern can use, only a bought one (nice feature) . The Sewing Buddy app is a not well organised like this one but its filters & tags allow me to find patterns in particular categories, suitable fabric and the amount of fabric needed from the main page when shopping reducing waste and time. That's powerful.

App won't show any of the photos that I add when putting in the pattern. When I click on a photo for a better look it just goes blank. Wanted something that I could view photos as well so when out I can quickly lookup what material and amounts (listed on back of patterns). Search feature also doesn't work.

I'd really LIKE TO LOVE this app, but since I can't use my laptop to enter the unending amount of information, I CAN'T LOVE it. I'd really like this to be accessible across all platforms. I am visually impaired. I can get a magnifying glass out to read my tablet or phone when I'm in a store, but would MUCH prefer to use my laptop, where I can enlarge detailed information.

Interesting... fabric conversion from cm to yd is off. Fabric sold in the US is in 2 general sizes, 44/45" or 58/60"... but I can't select that as an option, even after I updated the settings. I just downloaded the Lite version to try it out, but then the pattern section froze while I was trying to edit the yardage.

Thanks for fooling me. The app has nothing, completely nothing. Get 5 star like because it's what you want though you've developed unfunctional app

Great way of storing your patterns so when your fabric shopping you have all the pattern information to hand. I like that you can upload pictures rate and leave your own notes on what fabric you used and difficulty making you can also create your own categories too. I did buy the full version as this only allows you to upload 10 patterns hence 4 stars I have quite a few boxes of patterns which is continuously growing and haven't run out of space on the full version.

A great app for sorting all my patterns but it won't let me print. I select print and nothing happens.

This app is nice, but as far as I have been able to see, you have to have the pattern first.
