The old version of the app before this major switch over was way better. Ever since the new system rolled out, the app and the Credit Union have lost a huge amount of functionality. Also, now transaction names display incorrectly as random letters and numbers on the app. Used to love being a member of this credit union, not so much anymore :(
Unusable, cannot get past the login screen. The app crashes repeatedly before I can finish entering my credentials. Normally I wouldn't care too much about not being able to use an app but as some SFFCU services - like remote deposit - are only available through the app this creates an especially poor customer experience.
This app actually made me stop being a member after being one for over 12 years. Sure, the old app wasn't gorgeous, but it was functional. This app doesn't clearly display pertinent information like when your credit card bill is due, etc... Sorry SF Fire, but some marketing person made a huge mistake changing to this platform just because it looks prettier.
The mobile deposit's camera feature is weird now. It doesn't fill the phone's screen and the view is all distorted and warped. I found a workaround that if it times out you can manually take it, but it still doesn't fill the screen and it's inconvenient.
Great bank but app is a total failure. The app refuses to connect with the server at every attempt at login making it virtually useless. Not an isolated incident, this has been an issue for months, I can't believe that SF Fire hasn't rectified this issue. If I can't rely on a bank's mobile app, I can't rely on the bank. I'll be closing my SF Fire account and moving on to one of their competitors.
the banking app is the worst! every transaction just says my name and the amount. doesn't list the store or anything. so i don't know what things are true or fraudulent. i have to call customer service all the time. this was the simple most worst idea the bank has made. get rid of this app. it is useless!!!
The new app is user friendly. I love the feature to see my account balances and the last few transactions from the home page without having to log into the app right away. Everything is working smoothly!
Best bank I've ever worked with! The app works smoothly, updates and maintenance are announced well in advance and explained clearly, and the customer service is responsive and helpful. Plus free accounts and atm fee reimbursements. I recommend SF Fire to everyone interested in working with a better bank.
It was a great bank! The only reason I deducted 2 stars is that the quality of the app and website has deteriorated dramatically since they outsourced it. It now breaks often, preventing ANY ability to log in. This can only be reset during normal business hours. Even the ATM breaks now, which causes 30+ minute lines in the bank. Fire the new web developer. Please become the bank you were 2 years ago! It worked well for my first 5 years as a customer.
Great app overall! Has an account refresh issue sometimes where you have to click on another account and then back to the first to get it to load the correct info, but so does the site so hopefully once one is fixed the other will be too.
The app has all the basic features you need like transfer, balances, and deposit check. The real good part of this is the Credit Union itself. I don't think I will ever go back to using big banks.
This is a solid app. i like seeing all my accounts from one login, depositing checks from bed, and can do some filtering for searches too. Wish i could more with categories and a few other little things but it helps me manage my life so thumbs up.
camera problems... when capturing the back image... it's like the camera is oriented backwards or upside-down. this problem existed a few years ago and was eventually resolved, so i hope it can be fixed again
Alright, so I'm from a generation that remembers when we did everything on paper. But this is now and SFFCU app makes it all possible. I can quick check my accounts, deposit (amazing!), move funds around, check or send messages and do it all while I'm on the go. Fantastic!
Love my online banking app! It so easy to check balances, make transfers and send money!!! Bank services are amazing too!!! The call center is so helpful with any type of question you may have. They take the time to answer your question!!!
This app is definitely smoother than the previous one but they removed the ability to redeem your credit card rewards through the app which was one of the most important features to me.
(updated 5/29/2019) over the last year, the mobile app team has really upped their game. like most aspects of SFFCU, they paid attention to member feedback, did the work we asked for, and returned with a great product. Great app! can't say enough good about SFFCU!
Biometrics (fingerprint) don't work. It asks me to login and reregister my device every time then complains that a device of the same name already exists. I started typing gibberish as my device name, but it doesn't matter cause it'll ask again next time!
Not reliable. Sometimes just site on the loading screen even on a good connection. Sometimes down for an entire day for upgrades.
After the latest update I have not been able to access my account. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still doesnt work. Its been over a week and I have to acces my web browser to check my account....horrible.
the app crashes at least once before i can log in. i can no longer use my fingerprint as a passcode. the app has been super buggy since the last update.
Excellent credit union with friendly service and a good variety of banking options. We have multiple savings and checking accounts as well as auto and home loans through SFFCU. Highly recommended!
I absolutely love Sffirecu. Small, local, friendly, helpful, enjoyable... they reimburse your atm fees. The app makes it so easy to bank. I will never go back to evil chase.
Mobile deposit is broken. Can take one photo of check fine, but second photo frame becomes skewed and does not take photo. Running Android 11 on Pixel 3.
Easy to use and has everything I need. Nice interface and design. Join SFFCU! Seriously.
app is super buggy. also wont let you paste in a password, which is ridiculous and makes secure passwords much more annoying to deal with
Would be nice to be able to edit checks deposited by phone to show the payers name for recordkeeping purposes since images are no longer accessible...otherwise it is great!..after several months with new system I agree with many others thst the old system was far better! I like to have acess to check images and be able to edit transaction information. would be nice to be able to sort by type for tax purposes as well...most banks offer these options. Still would not change banks...love sffcu!
