SF311

The official SF311 app for residents and visitors to San Francisco allows users to quickly and easily report quality of life issues by sending pictures, a brief description, and a map based location. Whether reporting issues such as graffiti, potholes, or street cleaning, the app will route requests directly to the appropriate servicing agency for quicker response time. The user can view the status of the case in the app and receive a notification of its completion.

Way far and above the worst app I have ever tried to use. In the last few months I made 8 reports. 3 are still open, 1 for the last 7 days. Only 1 of the requests has a reply. There is no way to follow up on a request for status. There is no way to cancel or mark a request as closed. I am not sure if my requests are actually improving anything or if the closed requested are closed because already scheduled tasks by the city took care of it and would have happened without my doing anything.

Excellent app. Very user friendly and submitted requests are responded to in a timely manner. What needs improvement? Add date of request, assigned agency and resolution (with date) to the request record display.

I can't upload a photo on a request. I can only take a photo through the app. I am using a Google Pixel 3 on Android 10 with the latest SF311 app update.

This app was not very good at best now with the update it completely erased all your current requests. And now you have to register

After their 12/15/2020 update for "bug fixes", the app is now broken.

Have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (MK2 4.3 version). After updating I cannot view any requests, including my own. Please fix. ------------------ Found a fixed. I had to remove the program and installed it again.

update: they have better at addressing "valid" request, but i notice a lot of them get closed as SFPD issues and they no longer forward complaint to the police. original review: i reported an on going issue of a recurring encampment on Polk street and all they did was close my report! And last night a body was hauled away... DOA!!! Great job of doing nothing

You can get interesting information on this app about what's going on in your neighborhood. However, the Mao is glitchy making it much less useful.

Installed at 9am, registered, filed a trash complaint, city worker was there at 11am. Super! Loses one star for address problem, noted by other reviewers, but I was able to write the address when I made the complaint.

Easy to use but also frustrating as posting accomplishes little. The city doesn't address the public health crisis even with hundreds of reports and horrific press coverage.

Out of the 5 requests I've made with this app. Only 1 of 5 requests had an actual response by police, the other 4 times they just closed the request saying the police came when they didn't. I report from my house and watch until they don't come but say they do and close the request. I'll just keep calling the police non-emergency number from now on, they always come when you call.

Was easier before. Blighted reporting and there issues not popping up.lost

Overall the app does well what it is intended to do. Progressive enhancement realized. App keeps getting better. The photo problem was fixed, so I raised the star count. Good app but compared to large corporate apps, seems brittle and have a stuck in the past UI. GPS has improved, but still too often will give down the block or other side of street, and is clunky to correct.

I suppose it's exactly what you'd expect from a government app - it does what it does reasonably well with an ugly UI. But unfortunately, there are a lot of things that it could also do that it doesn't, and it's a bummer. For example, you can't report broken parking meters through the app. But SFMTA says to call 311 to report broken meters. So why can't I report it in the app?

I reported a few things and is being not weeks but months and they just putting close. No government accountability for nothing. The app is just for show.

Have submitted several incidents, they get ignored, not dealt with, then simply closed without comment months later.

I still can't use this app. Every time I try to submit, I get a toast saying "Failed to create request. Could not connect to server." All of my other apps seem to work fine and clearing the cache didn't help.

I reported dumping and rotting garbage in the south end of McClaren park nine months ago. The ticket is still open and the problem is a few orders of magnitude worse, with daily dumping of rotting garbage and household items. I'm going to use other channels from now on.

Thank all and everyone involved with making this app. It's like the best thing that ever happened. I can refill a pothole, dry snitch on people, report abandoned cars, trash on the street, graffiti oh lawd I love it!

Application consistently "Failed to Sync" and "Register Reporter". Turns out "Registering Reporter" is just entering your information into the "Reporter" window at the bottom. Haven't figured out how to get it to sync yet.
