Used to be ok but newer ssh versions disable the older key exchange algorithms used by this app and make it useless. Recent version constantly crashes Ghost Commander on startup, making it useless. FTP plugin works fine.
Used to be my go-to sftp app but latest changes took a good app and made it useless... It just crashes immediately on trying to connect with no usable error message. Switched to total commander as it actually works.
Good use to access files on SSH servers ! Unfortunately I can't get the connection via keys working. If I'm not mistaken there's no way to use ED25519 (scheme using SHA-512 (SHA-2) and Curve25519), which I would consider state of the art. Please if you have ressources add this to the key feature, thanks! p.s.: I can't get the connection using key working ... at all. Unfortunately I couldn't find any documentation on that either. Tried with an passphrase protected RSA key, getting "Invalid PEM structure, '-----BEGIN...'missing. The file actually starts with '-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY'... Also it's confusing, it says "Exact host name:" but after choosing a key the filename is listed there???!?
This is overall a good and useful app, but the SFTP plugin has not been working. I don't know for how long it has been broken, but it will be given a better rating when the needed update is made.
#meh (i wisg listed the SMB plugin for now until i figure who my Best Buy order got delivered to, but since all ten or eleven of my phones show a different time, date, year, or calendar, YOUR CONVENIENT NOTIFICATION PROGRAM is requiring me to wait until i get that full body/ back/ face/ all curly hair disease so i finally look like i act, which development is still just.. ) #meh
Very limited functionality. Does not let you use an authentication key, for example.
Suddently every SSH login are rejected on each account on each host - but only in Ghost Commander. When tested from SSH clients, there is no problems. What is this about?
Does not allow to specify what port number to use so for me it's pretty useless.
Gets job done over LAN, could use bookmark protection password
Can't download any of Ghost Commander's plugins!! Android 11
Command direct deposit information as easy as 123 only for me
Much thanks to you.

loving this app.
Previous version worked flawlessly. Current one has a bug: when copying files using WiFi hotspot, pressing 'copy' closes the hotspot connection preventing this the copying process!! Android 4.4.2, on Galaxy Nexus
Have used it extensively and it always has worked impeccably. How can I preserve the modification times etc of the original file when sending from android to remote host?
Almost perfect. If you use password authentication, it works great. I was not able to connect to my server using an RSA key. There is no clean interface for importing keys, you create a key directory, and then copy-paste an ASCII key file, all manually. I followed the instructions and still was not able to make it work.
Unlike the other apps like this that I've tried... ghost commander with FTP, SFTP runs lean..quick and is very efficient . when you have to move or manipulate videos and hi res images...in directories containing thousands of files...lag is a prob and responsive matters. Love this powerful app with all the hassle free plugins.
3 stars because key-based auth is still gimped requiring manual intervention instead of being able to just select from file manager.
Powerful, elegant, wonderful free software.
There ggggrreeat
I verry like this ghost..
SSH key authentication has been added. Oddly, it requires that the private key be named for the server you're connecting to. But it works.
(... and non-standard port, too -- host:port). Finally I can do all my moving stuff around in one client ... With some speed optimisation in the SSH module I'd give it 6 stars. :) Standard FTP (in the main program) is already as fast as it can get.
Nice to have sftp but lacks two-factor authentication support which is needed for better security. If added I will set to 5 stars.
Now I can use GC for all file operation within my home server and connected smartphones, anywhere...
Non standard port works now. But non casesensitivity in sort seemingly aint working yet
I have used this happily for years to send files to and from my Linux desktop. Recently, it has stopped working with the most recent versions of OpenSSH. This has been tragic. I hope it's fixed. The FOSS ecosystem on smartphones isn't what it should be, but Ghost Commander is a shining exception. Support it, y'all!
