This companion app. for the Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective boardgame offers audio tracks for all cases’ introductions.
Make yourself comfortable. Install the game and run the application. Select the case you are about to play and listen to its introduction. Sort out the informations, write them down if you like, before exchanging with other players and start playing!
Once you’ve listened to the introduction, players proceed as usual in the game and read in turn the leads they choose to follow.
This companion app. includes the introductions of all cases in both Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The murders of the Thames & other cases and Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: Jack the Ripper & West End Adventures.
In this companion app., you’ll only find the introductions, so no risk of getting spoiled ahead.

Just reads intro, literally no point to this. If you think this will help when playing with multiple people it doesn't. You'll still need to pass around the book or designate a reader. Also why does it need to access your files to narrotate a case intro?
Okay, I myself like to put some drama into it when reading the text. Nevertheless it's sometimes difficult to do all the voices when it's not immediately clear who is talking. This app doesn't help with that because it's just a computer generated voice only reading the intro. Very dissapointing.
What's the bloody point? Why publish an app that simply reads what can be read from the game's case booklet? It doesn't serve as an aide to players who can't read or are visually impaired, because the rest of the game requires sight and reading ability, and if you're playing with someone else that can help you with that, they will read the case overviews better than this synthesized British accent. Two stars, only because it does what it says, and doesn't crash.
It speeds up the intro of the game, however we would've like it to be able to read the leads too as it takes time for someone to read it - not everyone is proficient in reading English if its not their native language..
So much potential squandered! Just reads the intro from each case instead of the leads as well. This could have easily turned into a digital subscription or episodic app that could give players new cases per download.
The narration omitted a key clue that is included in picture format in the written version- which meant that we spent more time and effort and still couldn't answer some of the key questions at the end of the game. This app doesn't work!
Pointless, just someone reading out the text and will only work if you allow access to your media files. Don't bother, just read the text out yourself
It's a free app that reads to you, I think you guys are setting your expectations way too high. Considering that it's free, It's incredible! You get all 3 games and all of the cases.
The person (or robot) they got to read this does just that. Reads it, and with errors too. This should be acted to set the scene. We can that ourselves. How difficult would be to find someone in the publishers to do this properly? Pointless.
Fun intro for each case. Wish it had more options with proof of purchase of game, like digital map, copies of papers, etc
We liked how it read the beginning of the cases. It's exactly what I hoped for. Though I wish it read more within the cases. Still thanks making the app!
Good if you're too lazy to read the intro. But should really include a copy of the news papers so all players can read etc
Not worth the download. Windows 98 voice. Only does the initial intro to each case.

Pointless app There is a page of info you read at the beginning of each case. All this does is read it out. In a computerized monotonous voice. And then that's it. You only need it for like 1 minute. But it accesses your photos and music and stuff, not sure why. Unless you are physically unable to read a couple paragraphs, this app is not necessary
