Shadow - Bring a Lost Dog Home

This is an incredible, life changing app- one suggestion, though. Sometimes I'm flipping through the search results for dog A, and I see a dog that looks exactly like dog B that i reviewed the results for earlier, but there's no way for me to send that particular photo to the owner of it doesn't show up on the algorithm. I think that would be helpful and maybe speed up the process.

I love the idea of picture matching for leads on lost pets. I think the app could be improved if there was a source link included with the pictures. I work at an animal shelter and have had multiple instances were someone came in to view a dog that was similar on the app. Unfortunately the owners never have an animal identification number so we can't help them find it. Maybe it works better for smaller shelters but the one I'm at can have hundreds of animals at a time.

This app was recommended to me when I posted about a dog I'd found. I'm glad it was - even after that dog got home (YAY!), it's very easy to stay involved by looking at lost dogs' photos and comparing them to photos from area shelters & found dog posts. It feels like a tangible way to help - it takes so little to make a real difference. Great idea and great app.

I remember when Shadow (the apps namesake) was lost and there were signs up all over my neighborhood. We were so happy when we saw that he was found. It is amazing to think that such an extremely difficult time led to this app. This is brilliant to crowd source information and have people cross check different lost and found sites and postings. What a great service and brilliant idea!

I really love how this app encourages people to help each other find lost dogs. Losing a dog is a really scary experience, so its great when there's a tool out there that incentivizes the match making process. I also love how it even helps you make flyers (although I had already made some in my case). Definitely recommend!

Downloaded this app because I wanted to list a found dog but before posting i wanted to browse the listing to see if the dog was already posted. This app doesn't let you filter by state or city. I'm in NYC and every pet shown was in CA, KS or TX. Nothing near me. Also can't change the my location in my profile. I was visiting someone in PA when I set up the acct and now I can't change it to my actual hometown. The overall idea is great but poorly designed and not user friendly. Uninstalling.

pretty useless as an emergency pretty finder, but I luckily have had only one time I needed it but it seemed more like a social media money gimmick and I found my dog with the help of people across different platforms and in person that made it far easier, so I guess this could help differently depending on the situation but of the several apps I used, this one was less helpful and wanted more of my money. ymmv

I'm so glad this app exists. I've spent endless hours trying to remember what a pet looked like while searching shelter pics. This app brings the comparison pics to the search and is updated with new pets regularly. The only thing I wish was different is a welcome/tutorial page walking a newb through the how tos would be very helpful.

Its a good app just takes some exploring to figure out how to use. The staff are amazing at keeping in touch with you which really made me feel grateful during such a stressful experience. (Other stuff hit the fan too not just my cat missing so Im not being dramatic lol) Ive recommended it to others as it's a good one to get!

It's nice how the app is set up so everyone helps eachother and they actually check in and offer assistance. I get the impression they really do care and want to help and after dealing with sites that don't care at all the only purpose they have is getting money not helping you reunite you with your pet this is a nice change. My only complaint is the app freezes on me and closes a lot that's it and it's not even so much that I would delete the app. I recommend the app 100%

I like the fact that they give you an alternative phone number so creepy people can't contact you directly. Also I really like this matching tool. I just wish it had a back button just in case you accidentally hit the X and you didn't mean to.

I posted a found dog ad online, then got what seemed to be a friendly enough contact suggesting I try this app. So I downloaded it but immediately realized it was asking for personal information, so I didn't enter it just yet. But after I got another out of the blue contact from another person unknown, I decided to look into some of the critical ratings here and didn't like what I found. Uninstalled.

Great app to help others find their fur babies. This app is awesome as you can add multiple pictures and update descriptions and it ties into nearby shelters and can look at all the pics from shelters to compare. You can also post a pet alert to everyone on your contacts list or instagram/facebook. You can make fliers and post where you have placed the fliers on a map of the surrounding area. I use this app as well as Pawboost and Petharbor mobile to increase odds of finding someone's pet.

Shadow is a very good app to use if you're looking for, helping looking for, or have found missing pets. People will contact you to see how the search is going and to offer tips, and they are very polite. You can look at pictures of missing pets and co.pare them to pets you may have found to try to make a match. It's a very helpful app.

Amazing app! Such a variety of shelters to go through listing, free flyers to pass out and post up, links to share, and lots of information for calling local shelters. Plus, a representative texted me to check up on my search for my lost cat. Very wonderful app with a fantastic service to offer. Highly recommend.

I think this app is a wonderful idea. Only that the app send way too many notifications. I cant be on the phone all day matching the dogs. The app doesn't give you the choice to turn off the notifications. My phone kept going off every 5 to 10 minutes from this app.

This app is soooo wonderful, 5 stars if not for one big thing, that when browsing pics you can't match for other dogs while matching for a specific pooch. Which i think I've seen other missing dogs during those browses. MINE INCLUDED and that really needs to be a thing, more dogs could be matched if we could browse & select a dog we think is a match at any time while in the app. Other then that this is amazing. im not on social media, & been trying everything outside of that , this is def#1

Awesome app that does great things for people and the community. Good interface. I wish you could click on your matches to open the profile of the match, but even the text follow-up and support is great!

What a soothing and comforting feeling it was to have the Shadow App on phone to help in a time of panic, crisis and helplessness!! I am grateful for this App!! from calling all of the Shelters, and providing a to-do list was invaluable.. I hung up some of your pre-made Missing-flyers.. and it may have been a helper!! I am in debt to all those that helped me along the way!! it felt like a toothache in my heart that wasn't going away.. ❤ 1,000 Thank you's to all!! David and Baxter!!

They have a wonderful support system, both electronic and human. Otherwise their program for finding pets is very similar to other pet-search sites. I do love the reward feature as they will match your offer.

This is a great app. Very easy to use; it makes the process of reporting and advertising for a lost or found pet very quick. Love the volunteer community on the app. People are always reviewing postings for pets and those things make a big difference!

Super useful! Brought together many resources, especially online ones that I would not have found. Also allows you to help other people find their dogs. I already helped find a stranger's dog by recognizing it and met two people with lost dogs in my neighborhood. Highly recommend!

Not a good app. Locations are limited. Lots of stuff to sign up for. When you have a lost dog, time is of the essence and this app requires too much sign up to be worth it's time. Could only view lost dogs nationwide rather than my local area. App has an emphasis on the people saving the dogs, rather than dogs themselves. This is an app for pseudo-altruistic people to get headpats from posting about dogs they've saved.

Great app for finding the owners of lost dogs; both if you lost a dog & also if you found a dog. I love the idea that if helps make it easier to find digs by asking people to match found dogs & lost dogs, which you can sign in daily to help match photos. Really makes a difference!

Simply Amazing. THE app all others will be measured against. We recently found a lost dog, posted it on this app, and instantly it created a flyer sharable to all social media platforms. That flyer had a proxy phone number on it linked to my own so I didn't have to give out my real phone number. The app helps people navigate tasks in priority order (such as bringing the dog to a vet and scanning for a chip). I also had a real human text me and coach me through the process. I can't figure out how to use this app. I received a random text message out of nowhere asking me to help find a lost dog and it felt very much like a phishing scam but in case it's a neighbor that lost a dog and paid for one of those mass text services I take the risk and click the link... now I have spent the last 20 min going through layers and layers of sign in required to install and install certifications and permissions and telling the thing what device and OS this is just to have it installed but not open. I cant even use the thing. This app is supposedly for us to help each other but it is complicating what similar services have made very simple.

I love this app and everything about very easy to maneuver around. I especially love the photo of your pet compared to the search photos so easy to see specific s. The only complaint I would have is it will not allow me to donate any money to your shadow account it's denied several times..

As much as I appreciate being able to go through lists to see if one is my dog, they keep giving you the same pictures multiple times. The "promote on social media" thing also seems extremely fake. Nobody has contacted me during the ad's runtime and looking at it on Instagram or Facebook makes it seem blank, and it isn't on the Shadow App's social media either. So fake ad for money.

Great app!! Easy to use, was contacted personally after setting up profile. Exceptional service and people were extremely conscientious and truly cared. ❤❤❤ it!!!!

Shadow is a great app that gives you a variety of tools and support needed to help you find your missing pet. They provide a vast amount of information that is key in the support needed to help locate your lost fur babies. Thank you Shadow, for creating such a great tool that helps get pet owners through a very emotional and difficult time.
