Shadowrun: Dragonfall - DC

Shadowrun: Dragonfall
- Director’s Cut is a standalone release of Harebrained Schemes' critically-acclaimed Dragonfall campaign. The Director's Cut adds a host of new content and enhancements to the original game: 5 all-new missions, alternate endings, new music, a redesigned interface, team customization options, a revamped combat system, and more
- making it the definitive version of this one-of-a-kind cyberpunk RPG experience.
---------

It's 2054
- and the world has changed. Unchecked advances in technology have blurred the line between man and machine. Elves and trolls walk among us, ruthless corporations bleed the world dry, and Feuerschwinge’s reign of terror is just a distant memory. Germany is splintered
- a stable anarchy known as the “Flux State” controls the city of Berlin. It’s a place where power is ephemeral, almost anything goes, and the right connections can be the difference between success and starvation. For you and your team of battle-scarred shadowrunners, there’s no better place to earn a quick payday.

Now, a new threat is rising, one that could mean untold chaos and devastation. One that soon has you and your team caught on the wrong side of a deadly conspiracy. The only clue: whispers of the Dragonfall. Rumors that the Great Dragon Feuerschwinge may still be alive, waiting for the right moment to return…

The unique cyberpunk-meets-fantasy world of Shadowrun has gained a huge cult following since its creation nearly 25 years ago. Now, creator Jordan Weisman returns to the world of Shadowrun, modernizing this classic game setting as a single player, turn-based tactical RPG.

A Classic, Story-Driven RPG: Branching narrative full of sharp prose and deep character development. Immerse yourself in a smart, 20+ hour campaign with a diverse cast of all-too-human characters.

Unique Setting: Experience the “Tech meets Magic” dystopian future of Shadowrun, a fan-favorite game setting now celebrating it’s 25th anniversary. Shadowrun: Dragonfall
- Director’s Cut is the perfect entry point to the setting for those with no prior Shadowrun experience, while providing plenty of classic Shadowrun characters and tech for veteran players to sink their teeth into.

Command Your Team: Lead a small team of shadowrunners
- each with their own outlook, motivations, and backstory. The members of your team are designed to play contrasting roles during missions, and each has a distinct set of skills, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. But it’s not all about the mission
- each team member also has challenges to face in their own lives, which you can choose to brush aside or play an important part in.

Turn-Based Tactical Combat: When you’re running the shadows, every turn matters. Choose your actions wisely
- move to better cover, charge into melee, or lob a fireball into a crowd of enemies. With over 200 weapons and spells at your disposal, every turn is filled with meaningful choices.

Skill-Based Character Progression: Choose a starting character archetype and build from there! Shadowrun: Dragonfall’s classless skill system allows you to grow your character in any direction you choose.

Playing this on Samsung tab e. Excellent game. Would be 5 star without two issues. First the load times can get very long. No crashing but loads slower the longer you play. Second is the contrast. Even at full brightness all I see is a black screen when I take my tablet outside. Even on a cloudy day. Night time and underground areas are too dark. A contrast setting would be nice.

I've been a Shadowrun fan since it was released on Genesis. And I really enjoyed Shadowrun Returns. But after completing the first mission of Dragonfall on my LG tablet I can not get the game to load anymore and on the rare occasion that it does load, it's short lived and then the game crashes. I was really looking forward to playing this game on my mobile device. It breaks my heart to give it such a low rating.

Unplayable due to the way this game handles resolution. At QHD nothing gets scaled properly, text is barley readable and controlling characters requires pinpoint accuracy. Options menu is very much non existant. Game pad support would have been nice as well, Xcom has it with similar game play and its better for it.

Never have I played an android game this good. The story is interesting, characters are pretty good, lots of different paths to take depending on how you create your character as well as how you play throughout. Combat is reminiscent of XCOM, dialogue and levelling is what you'd expect from an RPG, and the quests are good and integrated well into the main storyline. Graphics are good with no issues on either of my devices.

This game is awesome but be careful if you plan to play this on a mobile phone as opposed to a tablet. With no way to scale up the UI or even the text it's really hard to play this on a small screen. If you have the right hardware though, it's amazing. I'm giving it three stars because I find it unplayable on my phone but others might be able to handle it.

Uninstalling, can't believe it. What a waste of time.

In game scenes lack lighting (scenes are always flat,,as opposed to the colorful diversity in the PC version). In game text is too small and uncomfortable to read(on a 5.5 inch screen) and there's no option to enlarge it like in the PC version,no option to zoom in the camera either. It takes forever to load your savegames list, and the more saves you have, the longer it takes to download.

Played Shadowrun Returns years ago and liked it a lot. Saw Dragonfall out there and decided to give it a shot. I can't get beyond the opening dialogue. The game is heavy text and the text is just way too small. Way way too small. And my phone isn't a tiny screen; Galaxy S7. But if it was on a desktop, it would be 2-point. No way do I want to spend the whole game squinting. Whatever else is good or bad about the game, if you can't read it, it fails.

I loved the first one and had no.issues with it. In this game I was having a blast until I had to take a up bahn to dragonkippe... now it tells me to take the u bahn, but every time I interact with the gold symbol to proceed it asked where u new to be. But won't bring up the option to go their besides staying on the current platform... a serious detraction as I can't even play the game.

I liked Shadowrun Returns, so I liked Dragonfall as well. The game mechanics, scenarios and overall story is very good and it is quite longer than the first one. Very enjoyable for RPG and Cyberpunks fans. However the game takes really long times to load sometimes and it even lags quite often. I have no idea of what causes it, but I am running it on a NVidia Shield Tablet, which is designed for high performance in games, so I'd expect it to run smooth.

I have galaxy s4 still and noticed alot of other devices are constantly complaining about load and lag. I have found that with my device if i actually use the save game properly and unload the app in between playing the lag and load time is reduced greatly. Don't leave it running all day in the background and you'll have a better experience. Loved this game

Fab game! It's a turn-based story-driven rpg so no mindless grinding. It was great when I was travelling and needed a non-WiFi game (download needed on Wi-Fi after you install). It has nice graphics, as others have pointed out the text is rather small on my phone so bare that in mind. I enjoyed this so much that I got the other Shadowrun game in the play store.

Hard to select targets. Slow loading times. And I just cannot win the fights as we are too outnumbered, too hard. It's difficult in some areas to select where to move to. Very linear game mechanics. You can also get stuck if you don't have enough nuyen. Font size too small, hard to read. Need a zoom function. I am uninstalling this game!

Tom. D. Oct 22, 2015

I love this game. However, the devs removed the ability to pinch-zoom, which may not sound like a big deal, but it is. I have a Nexus 6 which is huge, but so are my hands, and sometimes the places I tap are a bit off. Zooming would correct that. Plus getting to see the environments the artists created close-up is a big bonus. Well done anyways, I hope you patch this in soon.

It's an excellent game, and runs well on my device. But the screen resolution issue is a lot worse than I expected, even having read the other complaints :( after a few hours playing I just can't bring myself to deal with it again.

It's a really good game just wish they'd optimized the coding a bit more. There's lots of random freezing and the load times are lengthy but the story is good the characters memorable and the game play is reminiscent of my favorite old turn based rpgs. I can recommend this game but some patience is required

Ray. H. Jul 17, 2015

I like the feel of the game and I do wish there was a soon but it works. The thing is no matter what I do starting a new character, reseting the level, or reseting the game I can't use the u-bhan to take the frist mission. I like the game get this is game breaking. I will happly change my review of the game but as of now the game is broken maybe it's just a bug I can't get passed. It's still a really bad bug

Cut. Aug 25, 2016

This game runs like S. Loading takes over 5 min each lvl. Frame rate sun 10fps. There are no options for the way too dark display and this certainly dosn't run better than Shadowrun Returns. Most disappointing paid app ever.

Why should I even bother writing a review when HBS has clearly gotten lazy, this game is an unoptimised mess other than the hud upgrade I see no graphical upgrade to blame for the performance hit the game took, the shaman/rigger conflict is still ignored 2 years after the last update.. Clearly the company provides little to none support for their games

Bro. K. Feb 28, 2016

I kickstarted the original game and then bought it on android just to support the devs. This is one of the great sci-fi franchises that almost got lost but was saved by these devs. Buy it so they keep releasing more. This is really a fun and great title. I highly recommend. I didn't run into the issues others head and text size is fine, but I am playing on a Samsung note 12.2

Mik. W. May 8, 2015

I like the game play simply because I love playing D&D and this is an excellent facsimile. Edit: I'm dropping this to 4 stars because it takes FOREVER to load anything and if I even dream about the vague possibility of maybe considering the idea of maybe gentle touching the home button I lose EVERYTHING and have to start over from my last save, which takes forever to load. And why do I have to tap everything 2 or 3 times to get it to work. It's only frustrating because the game is so good otherwise.

Mos. N. Jan 25, 2018

Absolutely wonderful game with a good storyline to go along with it's gameplay. There are multiple ways of doing each mission giving it high replay value and encourages you to try new builds. This holds similar to crew members as throughout the game you choose between two upgrade paths for your crew to customize them to your liking. Unfortunately, I found that in a new game I'm unable to choose their upgrade paths. In fact, they're fully leveled using the same path from my prior game. Don't known if it's a well known bug or I did something wrong. Regardless, great game at a great price that you won't regret.

Awesome game. I bought it cheap for my android despite owning it on Steam so I could play it on my free time. I ended up burning several whole eveings and one afternoon on this. The story was really gripping, playing as a pure rigger was very cool. Only drawback is that like several other reviews state the loadtimes can be a bit much and there is a lot of latency whicn can get especially annoying when switching between the 'real' world and the matrix. It is definitely worth it in my opinion to just champion on with it.

Fantastic storyline, really felt like I had been through a rough time by thrle end of it. The characters are each unique and fleshed out (Blitz is hilarious) and there are some tough moral decisions. An absolute bargain at this price. Harebrained really are the right guys for the job.
