This app is very frustrating. It crashes often, and the Google Pay is very broken. Several tiles I have tried to use Google Pay and it will say declined, crash, or simply not work at all. Adding a cc was the only way to get it to work. Adding stuff to the cart is just odd. You click on the item them it gives you some options, which are very small. Then it's confusing whether you can just move on to order more or you need to click the tiny picture. This needs work.
The app is basically useless if you want any products on limited time offer. LTO shakes aren't offered in the app at all, as an example. It also tends to behave weirdly; I was able to select Buffalo fries (another LTO item) via the app, but as soon as I select my location they suddenly vanish. If they're temporarily unavailable, the messaging (or lack thereof) is unhelpful.
The app used to be great! Now it's unintuitive in its quest to be hip. Can't choose a pickup time until the end of the order. the shopping cart is now the burgers you selected, dangling at the bottom of the screen like two... spheres. There is no checkout button. you have to tap those dangling food items first. nobody wants to read "Sweet, you're almost done" any more than we want to hear a waiter say"have an amazing day." Pls give us an intuitive app with words instead of icons like the old one
ZERO STARS!!! the amount of expletives I would like to use is unfathomable right now. This update is even worst than it's previous version. Cannot place an order using Google Pay or by entering my CC info manually. Last time this occurred I was going to a shake shake in another state who said the system will do this when they are busy. That was over a year ago and they haven't figured it out yet? Horrible app. They should just throw it away and not bother taking mobile orders.
I have attempted with multiple peers all with their own apps, utilizing 4 different credit cards and the app would not let any of us pay for our orders through the app. For all of us it cited that the Expiration Date for each of our cards was incorrect. After 45 minutes of frustration, we ordered through the McDonalds app with these same cards instead and discovered that our cards worked just fine.
I had issues with the old app and they persist with the new app. Frequent issues logging in and when I click forget password the temp passwords they send me don't work. Also Google flags their emails as a security risk. Any app you're putting a credit card into should feel secure and this ain't it.
Literally won't let me make a purchase suddenly. Tried multiple cards and multiple methods of using the cards but nothing worked. Ordered just fine somewhere else after I gave up trying, so I don't think it's on my end.
Terrible app, constant useless error messages that tell you nothing useful, constantly have to force stop and restart the app to load payment options. All visual and looking pretty but functionalities are awful. 0 stars.
Extremely irritating to get a refund when they don't deliver part of your order (which is itself very irritating). Lots of phone callinf, no meaningful customer support. Skip the app and the restaurant, save yourself some hassle.
new app update is trash. bring back the user friendly original app. browsing/ ordering= hassle. & why can't I store my payment info like old version? also new update kicked me out (was always auto signed into old version) & now when I order & put in all my info from scratch, it tells me to complete my account (as if I don't already have one), & when I try to it tells me username already exists! but it won't give me a link to an existing account, only a "complete your accont" link. dumb update.
Terrible. Had to enter order like 3 times because the app kept dropping info (e.g., checking out I happened to notice they had it for some location I've never been to and I specifically remember tapping the correct location before I even started & had to start over, entered a pickup time, finished well within the countdown timer allowance yet it still asked me for a new time and by then it was saying it was 2 mins too late for my orig slot 🙄). Love the food & staff, but this app is a POS.
For some godforsaken reason, they removed the ability to remove and add specific ingredients to different sandwiches. To make it even better, whenever you place an order, it immediately logs you out, so if you didn't schedule a pickup time (by picking ASAP for example), you no longer have any clue when your order will be ready. Logging back in lets you see you made the order but can't track it still. To add a cherry on top of the dung sundae, the location I ordered to still managed to mess up.
It worked until I switched phones and then the app refused to let me log in, despite password reset. I had to download the app on my iPad to get it to work. December 2021 update: it stopped working on my iPad and kept giving me an authentication error. I finally managed to troubleshoot the problem and order with my android phone after months. But after placing my order, the app told me to expect a text when my order was ready. I never got a text or notification so my food was cold.
Worst food app experience I have ever had. When I ordered in the app today, I never received an indication that my order was done. The app simply displayed that my order was still processing. After waiting and inordinate amount of time, given how slow business was in the restaurant, I went the window. Imagine my delight when I found out my order was ready and waiting. Only to be followed by the immense disappointment of a cold burger and some slushy milk (sans the shake). ZERO NOTIFICATION!!!
Terrible app. Before The update, it frequently gave error messages about the order not being placed even when it does go through. Just made me update and now it doesn't work at all despite entering payment manually. Guess Shake Shack doesn't want my business!
Make believe app but looks good. It looks like an app that will take your pickup order but with a 100% decline rate any semblance too an actual ecommerce ordering app is theoretical at best
Updating my review to 2 stars instead of 1 because I was finally able to order after month of the app not working. It was still a buggy process. First tried to use Google pay and it failed auth. Then tried to enter credit card information, which it auto filled from Google pay. The shake shack app said the date was invalid because it used a 2 digit year. Changed it to a 4 digit year, but it still failed authorization. I tried again with now saved card, it asked for cvv again, which worked.
Horrible mobile ordering experience. My cart was cleared after I came back to finish my order I started 5 minutes ago. I tried using Google pay but the app threw some error and Google pay declined the purchase. I tried a second card with an experation date in 2026 and was given an error for the exp. date for some reason. I ended up ordering online on a PC, used Google pay, and everything worked smoothly. Whoever coded this app needs to find a new line of work.
The app is horrible and fraudulently double charges you. After hitting submit on an order it asks you to log-in again. Even if you exit out it still charges you, what's the point of this if it still charges you? It then leads you to think the order did not go through, even checking order history there's no indication it went through. So you resubmit the order only to discover in email and bank account that you were charged twice.
New update is harder to use, navigate. Can't select location for pickup. Major bugs.
The order never goes through. The payment can't be processed for unknown reason. I tried 3 cards still same thing. It just wasted my time. 0 star.
The payment method never works..correct syntax and numbers are used but keeps indicating an error. This was never a problem until about 2 months ago.
Does not work rejects my payment every time, have to order for the Uber app( which means I pay more) or go in person and have to wait. Fix your app, love your food but this app trash.
Two thumbs down....Your service is terrible...your app does not work... I will never eat at your establishment ever ..you advertise with Venmo delivery 20% off... App would not process order so I called your saint Louis location and can't order over the phone? Seriously ...your app will not order and deliver and I can't order over the phone since your app does not work? Seriously...you will never have me and my network of businesses and friends ever eat at your shake shack ever. . Wasted myTime
Curbside pick up is broken. No way to say "I'm here". This works in iphone app. Please fix ASAP. 4/6/2022 this is still broken. To reproduce place order then kill app. When u relaunch app no way to say "I'm here".
Refreshed app, poor UX/UI, declines Google Pay and Saved Cards. Tried a few more time before it went through. Got worst after Refresh.
How come this app just failed to work in the UK when you have opened many stores here? The app keep saying connection failed, please fix this and I will come back revise my review.
Ordering was easy enough... but the app and the store do not communicate. App said 10 minutes, and notifies you to go inside to get your order, but its not ready. Waited another 20 minutes inside the store, then got a text just as the food came up. Many people inside experiencing the same issue. Wouldn't rely on the in-app messages.
App is garbage. It signs me out at random times after I placed my order for curbside so then I have no option to select when I'm here. The app also forces their users to opt-in to app messages and marketing. When I try turning those settings off. It won't save. Clever but very malice tactic.
Very frustrating to use. If the location is out of an item, it only says that something isn't available and leaves you to guess which item can't be ordered. If they have real-time inventory like that, you'd think those items would not be available to purchase. Also, there was an issue recently with payments not going through but no warning, just "payment declined" rather than a pop up early on to warn me that the app was virtually useless to me at the moment.
