Shantideva Verses
Shantideva (also spelled Santideva or Śāntideva) was a great Indian master who lived in during the 8th century CE. Two of his texts survive
- the Bodhicharyavatara (the text that is displayed in this app) and the Shikshasamuccaya ("Compendium of Trainings"). Both texts are still used to the present day by many Tibetan Buddhists and especially the Bodhicharyavatara is one of the most cherished and most frequently taught texts in the Tibetan tradition.
This translation of the text was done by Alexander Berzin (www.BerzinArchives.com). Many alternative translations into various languages are available in book form.
About permissions used by this program:
- The program needs to be able to start at boot so that it can display the verse of the day as an android notification message; apart from this no backround activity takes place
- This program works completely offline and does not do any network communication. However, it was created with a programming library that requires a permission for checking whether the phone/tablet is online or not even though no actual network communication takes place.

Really benificial
Entire text of the Way of the Boddhisatva. It is easy to adjust the settings to make it a comfortable read. In fact, there are many languages it can be translated into like Arabic and Tibetan. It sends a verse of the day to my notification page for convient viewing. It allows us to favorite verses. I give it 4 stars only because it has potential for more cool features and more visually-appealing features, which does not bother me but may bother other people.
