ShapeShift - Crypto Exchange

First and foremost, I think that the recent redesign of the App captures the desktop website's feel perfectly. It feels easy to navigate and simple to use, but I partially agree with other reviews that it is functionally stripped down, thereby sometimes necessitating the use of the desktop website instead. A major improvement would be: More features of the desktop website available in-app (KeepKey?). (The required password change is somewhat annoying, but it's a safety feature, so it's fine)

The app works fine for the first login. Following that, the only way to get it to connect to the server(s) is to delete all the app data (using settings). The app might be useful, but these login issues overshadow any benefit that the app may have. There is no point in keeping this app on my device as the same features are available through a browser on my desktop.

Runs badly and can't login. I have made an online account, downloaded the mobile app and straight away opening it I can feel it's very slow and unresponsive unlike any other app on my phone. Even clicking the text field to log in, the keyboard doesn't pop up until 15 seconds later like it's eating all my RAM. Once I can log on successfully it asks me to change my password... No matter what I type it won't accept it and comes up with a generic error.

App is painfully slow and hangs often. Verification process is intrusive and even after completing it, the app doesn't recognize that you've verified. Login process is confusing. You make a password for your wallet but it doesn't work for your regular login, which makes sense that they'd be different but the app never prompts you to make a login password. I gave two stars because the app looks great on the rare occasion a page fully loads.

As soon as I logged into your app I had an account set up on the website. And then in the app it asks me to change the password. I've tried different combinations of passwords and it will not set the password to keeps on saying there's an error setting the password. It says to have eight characters and one symbol. I've done that and still same problem

I just want to help the people having issues with the email confirmation. I have the same issue, spent ages trying and trying again. I finally figured it out. You must make sure that the browser you are using is the default. I was using brave but had Firefox as my default. Once I went into email to click the link to confirm, it opened in Firefox not brave. I set brave as my default and tried again. IT WORKED! Hope this helps those who are experiencing issues. Enjoy 🙂

The app doesn't work. I login with website credentials and it won't let me get past the creat a new wallet page (it errors on PW). I can login to website but can't change my email (I have a new one). The settings link is broken. I tried to use the contact page, but it won't let me fill in the fields. Not having basic tech issues worked out is a huge red flag in the crypto space.

Just installed this app, logged in with website credentials and now it's asking me to change password! I tried about 20 different combinations with letters, numbers, special characters - all I get is ERROR! "Unable to change password!" Can you people fix your junk app! I will NEVER trust my money to the app that I can't even set up initially! My advice to potential users: STAY AWAY!

First it failed verification. Then my password wouldn't work so I could redo the verification. When it said to reset the password, it then said it doesn't have that feature yet. Emails from a bot no results. I got tired of trying very quickly. This app is a pain. Deleted it, who cares. This is a classic example of chasing patronage away.

For the newcomers out there. Just know there are high fees for exchanging and sending FOX, Etherium, ERC-20, and DeFi. So don't get locked into this token unless you have the funds to cover exchanging or sending. Also the 3rd party API to SELL is broken and missing. The 3rd party API BUY is working fine. So there is no way to sell and get out. So be aware of that before committing to this token.

Why must we download the app to use the platform? ShapeShift appears to be a great DEX but I can not verify my account. My account was created and e-mail verification completed but then I must download this extremely slow and buggy app to finish verification. It does not allow me to login with my account, it shows a red error box with no text or explanation. So I created a new account on my phone, verified the email, come back to log in and the same thing happens again. LET US USE WEBSITE!

Garbage. Wouldn't even load half the time Login failed when it did. The few times I did get in it was impossible to figure out how to verify my account. The fact that I could receive crypto without verifying, but then not trade, is asinine. 0/10, one of the worst pieces of software I've ever had the displeasure of using. I want my transfer fees back.

abysmal. I registered one account and was locked out of it without any ability to go back. At first I thought an incorrect password, but I made sure to write it down and store it in my pw manager. Anyway, I tried it with a second email and it worked nicely on day one. The next day I try to log in with a correct password and it does not let me in. Absolutely abysmal. Luckily I didnt put any assets there. Oh and I cannot re-register or delete my account too. There is no way to use this.

Meh. Got an email about this app, and I downloaded it because I cannot say no to 3$. However this app does not allow custom fees, and there is no way to export seperate private keys. This app is still pretty much work in progress. If you own the keys you should be able to customize fees etc.

Not at all happy with this. Such a hassle to actually complete verification. Now it seems that it has messed up my laptop access to my keepkey dashboard. Definitely a design fault is that any preexisting login to shape-shift platform gets disrupted by installing the mobile app. Just a waste to time. Binned it. Trying to get my keepkey to work now

DEX-type exchanges may be fashionable right now, but, there is something to be said for centralized exchanges too. ShapeShift is one of the best. I think it may have been a prototype for the DEX "swap" type exchanges. This new mobile app is good and steadily improving. It provides secure (you control your own keys, not ShapeShift) mobile access to your crypto and the ShapeShift swap engine. And finally, the first-rate support staff makes ShapeShift easier and safer than a DEX.

Super slow app, it's not what it used to be. Whoever bought this company wants this to be a big time exchange but doesn't accommodate new users and charges ridiculous transaction fees which are a mark up from what the average network fee is. Also the minimum trade requirement is beyond 10 dollars on most currencies which is so they can take as much as possible from your transaction.

well, i now i remember 2 things, how much trouble was to register, and even when i finally did... i still delete it, as i will be doing again, since i can log in from browser, into my veryfied account, BUT i can't log in from the app that i download from playstore, using my veryfied gmail email, because as the message was saying "sign in with Google is NOT supported"... for real ?!?!? O and by the way it seems its not supported at all, even if i try to make new reg with different email ;)

Downloading this app was the worst mistake I have ever made. I understood that it would disconnect my Keepkey wallet. What I did not know was that I woul not be able to reconnect it. I have emailed support for help twice. I am not sure if they received the emails or not because I didn't get a confirmation email at all and neither have I gotten a response. Hopefully soon I will as I have quite a bit of crypto in the wallet that I now cannot access.

Setting up a password for this app is just stupid. After setting up my account online it wants me to verify my account with the app. The app wants to erase my online password and use a weaker one. You know how complex my passwords are to keep having to enter them by hand over and over again. Just use the damn password I created for the website to encrypt the wallet. Quit wasting my time.

Terrible...run around in circles using customer support when my account suddenly emptied of all funds. Login always failed and kept sending me to create a new account. New password doesnt get recognized. Futile! When I requested to be removed from the platform...complete silence...NO REPLY FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I'd give it a NEGATIVE rating if I could

Same thing as a red and some other listings all it does is keep taking me back to the login page and reset your password . you can't use it it's a terrible app I thought it would work at first who cares about the freaking money they gave you just imagine if you have thousands of dollars in there you couldn't even get it no ratings from me. At first I thought you had to use metamask to make it work but I removed all the apps from my phone PS you have to give it a one-star rating in order to post

This has been one of the worst experiences ever. The web browser says to download the app to verify the account, within the app there is no way to verify. Its laggy, buggy and a waste of time. They charge stuipid fees to transfer your funds out, they are esentially stealing money.

Not very user friendly. I downloaded the update and it was even worse. Tried a transaction and it worked, but when I tried to convert one crypto to another nothing happened. I uninstalled and probably won't be back.

Don't think this latest update is digesting well....My portfolio balance is now showing zero everytime I open the app. I was about to hit the panic button, till I noticed the individual Cryptos still have the correct balances. Come on devs! That's got to be a very simple fix to make and push out.
