Great addition to Automagic to control Smartthings. I have had issues with Smartthings presence detection. SharpTools working with Automagic allows me to circumvent the inconsistent detection scheme associated with the Smartthings app. I can now rely on WiFi connected status as the secondary method to trigger my presence status to change to home. No more false alarms when I come home = no more complaints from my wife 👍. I am sure I will find other useful applications with SharpTools.
Thank you for providing a low-cost app that fills in the huge gaps left by both of Samsung's SmartThings apps. SharpTools is so easy to setup and use. I do, however, have some suggestions: - Give Thing attribute widget ability to show more than one attribute. Having to use multiple widgets to show multiple attributes can fill up a home screen quite quickly. - Provide ability to change icon image/design (e.g. my Fortrezz MimoLite I use for actuating my front gate shows as a light bulb.) - Provide a multi-item widget to provide a simple panel would be great, far easier to manage on a devices home screen than a dozen separate widgets.
Routine widgets don't show labels making it hard to figure out what is what. Could not see scenes from newer smartthings app. Only deprecated routines from smartthings classic which can't even be edited in the new version of smartthings. All devices are listed on one screen so if you have many things it is difficult to navigate.
I was looking for a widget with a dimmer control. No luck here. I'm not sure what the point of this app is. It doesn't seem so offer any additional functionality compared to the regular Smartthings app. Also, what widgets they do have must be paid for to access. I didn't pay to access the tasker, but that sounds like the Automations and scenes function is the ST app...?
Seems to be a good solution for indicating the state of devices including virtual switches. So far everything however are showing up as lights instead of switches, but does follow everything being set inside SmartThings. Needs some options such as colors, etc.
Look, I Get It... Like everyone else, you want to be compensated for your expertise, time, and effort. But something feels like "bait and switch" for _widgets_, which are referenced in the app title itself (suggesting, to me at least, it's a core function), to be an in-app purchase. That's why I installed the "free" app in the first place. Unless I missed it, it would have helped me if it were made clearer upfront. I have no issues paying for apps, but this rubbed me the wrong way.
Really useful where the Smartthings app comes up just short. I am a tech enthusiast, but can't code. I was trying to accomplish what should be a simple thing on Smartthings, but couldn't - If my kid leaves the samsung multipurpose sensor on the fridge open for 30 seconds, the Sonos speaker in the kitchen says, "The fridge is open." I tried contacting Samsung and scoured the IDL boards, but still couldn't get there. THIS allowed me to do it. Thanks!
Widgets are constantly out of date. Lights show on when they are actually off. The door locks show locked when they are actuall unlocked. This makes the app useless since you cannot trust it. This used to be a lot better than this!
Extremely handy & useful app to have installed on your device if you use SmartThings. For a quick toggle the navigation is much faster than ST companion app. With the addition of widgets & Tasker integration SharpTools is a must have for any IoT enthusiast that has invested in SmartThings.
It took some figuring out on the SmartThings side, but I eventually was able to use SharpTools to make a widget on my phone to turn a set of lights on and off. The best part is, I found the solution on the SharpTools forum, not SmartThings. SharpTools itself was easy to use.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 running Android version 9. This app will not recognize my Samsung Smartthings hub v.3. However, my old Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 running Android version 4.4.2 and this app will recognize the hub. So, what's the point of this app if it won't work with a new hub and a recent version of Android? I do have a screen capture, but I don't see a way of uploading it here.
Loved the app but tecently the widget opeion doesnt work. I add the widget and pick the settings and it ignores them and choose what ever it eants, most of the time to something that doesnt have any thing to change and throws an error. Am i doing something wrong?
I love the app and it works well for me. One question, is there a way to have a toggle for a group of devices? I have several lights in my kitchen and would like to click one widget and have them all toggle. Edit: They responded quickly and told me about a feature in the native Samsung app that allowed me to do that. Excellent customer service!
Exactly what my DIY home security was missing! The tasker plug-in gave me all the functionality I had been missing before I found this app. Not to mention fantastic customer support!
Added widget and selected not to show thing name, but it still shows thing name on all of my Samsung Android devices. Also would like to be able to set the color of the text in the wiget.
Developer has always replied fast to my questions, and the app integrates well with my SmartThings items. I'm pulling temperature from an outdoor sensor onto a widget on my home screen.
Fast and response but could have some more features as discussed previously. For example lighting groups, ring camera live feeds and soundcloud music player and smart TVs
Great application. My only gripe is that I wish the additional features could be shared with family members. The fact that each of my family members would have to purchase each feature makes me give it 3 stars.
Outstanding reliable app. It's so useful that i would probably switch away from smartthings entirely without it, it's THAT useful.
Awesome and responsive dev! Great app for getting Tasker and SmartThings to work together. I used this to setup an actual working phone presence sensor in ST.
Awesome app that fulfilled a need that I searched for days for. Works flawlessly. The customer service is beyond anything Ive ever seen in the tech community. Very pleased. Thank you!
App works but doesn't have much functionality. The real action is in the web version. This app is like a stripped down version of ST app.
nice plugin. can you remove the unexpected error -1 toast please? It's very annoying. Very useful for automating phone presence with custom conditions!
Sure everyone has to make a buck. But having the key features as a widget be paid feature should be in the title. Call it pro.
Awesome app... Excellent when combined with Automagic. I shake my android smartwatch to toggle my bedroom light. That's future...
Times they've deleted my review asking why they removed the ability to change the dimmer on my nanoleaf device with tasker: 4
Battery hog! Battery drain needs fixing. Edit: very responsive and helpful developer
I just want a simple widget that rings my smart tag. I don't wanna automate anything and I don't wanna fiddle with an app to find my keys. Can you add this?
MUCH more powerful than brand "AT", and you will NOT find a more dedicated staff when you have an issue. They are always listening to customers and working on new features, some that I'm VERY excited for. I use SharpTools as a central dashboard, yes, but it is just as valuable in my opinion for being that bridge that connects Smartthings, Hubitat, and one of the most powerful apps available to Android users, Tasker. Without SharpTools, a lot of capabilities I use would be lost.
