Shoebox - Photo Backup Cloud

An unpleasant little app. It offers the same as Google Photos or Amazon Photos, but unlike other options I get constantly spammed. And it has nothing extra to offer compared with the five identical apps offering the same backup your photos for free. Oh, yes, they have something different: the no name brand. Google, Microsoft, Amazon will still be here next year. This app might not be.

So far so good. I was looking for a service that would give me both a backup service and a good gallery app, to use as Google photo alternative. This is a good backup service but with a limited gallery app. It's a bit painful to organise your collections/albums. I still have to use a separate gallery for every day use. You can't turn off automatic backup. I'd like to be able to manually trigger a backup so that it doesn't sync the bad pictures that I will have soon deleted.

A pain to navigate, it appears easy but nope, it's not. And try to delete a pic? It locks up the app. I just had to restart it. Now I'll have to go back 13 years and try to delete those pics again. When you get a preview of 8 or 10 pics when you choose to sort by year, if you click on a pic in the preview cuz hey! That's the pic I want from 2006! And ya, it brings up something completely different. Frustrating.

No Stars If Possible It has to automatically backup your photos, I like the option to upload. The organizational options are too few; it is sorted by timeline, month, and year. I tried to delete all the photos that I just backed up and it's refusing to delete them. I'm not going to fiddle with this app any further but I hope my pictures get deleted when I uninstall. And they have the nerve to have a pro option set up. If I can't find an app to switch to then I'll continue using Photobucket

what a complete waste of time. forces you to upload ALL your photos at once the first time, without showing any options first. when attempting to delete folders for sync and add new ones literally nothing comes up. the "organization" is retarded. nothing about it was intuitive. no ability to reorganize images into your own folders in a way that actually works. none of your native folders are saved. on top of that i couldn't find a single file i was actually interested in backing up! garbage.

Heartbroken that this app is shutting down! It was my go-to for years! I didn't have to stress about losing pictures, etc. and having an app that was able to save it all, and for FREE, was a lifesaver! If the app people are reading this, I hope you will make another one. I'll be your customer for life!!!

No one else will compare!! Shoebox has been a part of my life since 2014 and I really underestimated it! this was such a great app and never had to worry about my pictures or had any issues. I'm truly heartbroken hearing this news and even in their last moments they care about their users a lot to go above and beyond to make the exporting 8k+ pictures process easy. Thank you for making everything so painless to deal with. Thank you for existing once upon a time 🥰

This is the best app for having your photos saved. I have like photos that are 5 years old, and I don't even remember that I took them. And the best part of shoebox is that it notifies you to check your past photos. for instance, it tells you like "Check what you were doing 5 years ago on the same day". Its the coolest app. I wonder why it is shutting down.

The free version of this app is actually very nice. im pleased with the display quality of my photos and the way in which they are displayed. However, the app does not acknowledge my OTG sd card and does not appear in the list on ES file reader wheras the photos could be shared to Shoebox from my external sd card.

Shoebox is my absolute favorite backup app for photos, it's easy to use and extremely easy to find photos and send them, love that you can put a password on it too and all the room for thousands of pictures. I wish this app had stickers you could add for captions and a few others things. Thanks shoebox!

I didn't like shoebox because all my pictures were attach marked on the bottom of pictures. I'm so frustrated with their technology. My opinion is that shoebox had poor features. Google Photo/Gallery were CHAMPIONS. No one can't beat Google. Unfortunately I'm disappointed that Google plus is going to shutdown. I've research another photo/Gallery and it's hard to find one that almost as Google. BUT NOTHING..... 😣 Any advice and let me know.... Thanks for your time

loved this app. It has been with me since the beginning of smart phones and the only reliable back up. I have lost a lot of memories with other back up apps or external devices and this is the only one who survived the time. Sad that they are shutting down.

worst cloud backup ever in existence as soon I created my account the app starts to sync everything which has no other way around to do selective backup option instead it just went on full sync to backup my photos which includes sensitive items like passwords..etc this is clearly the worst cloud I suggest users to switch to a better options like google drive. Degoo and Mega. worst experience ever.

Shoebox was great. I swore by it, and it has saved me from losing many picutes, but lately, it only saves pictures that are uploaded to facebook or insta. It is also saving screen shots, but not pictures that I takw with my camera. i have contacted CS and heard back once, but my problem was not fixed nor was i told a way to trouble shoot it. Hoping my issue grts fixed as i have upgraded to pro.

I would give 5 stars if the option to select multiple photos and save them to your device was an option. PLEASE add that. I dont like going through and adding single pictures at a time back to my phone, I know other have to feel the same way.

I'm torn! I love this app but I am very upset and disappointed that I have to find another place for all 2000 something pictures... I have no clue where to even begin... no other app will compare. for some reason I can't export all my pics, so all these memories are a loss I guess. I am very very upset that this is happening and would actually like to know WHY this app is being shut down!

I love Shoebox! I get an email every day telling me I have picture memories. I only wish that when I want to search for photos that I could put in a specific date instead of just picking a month or year and having to filter through that way. Otherwise this is the perfect app!

Sorry to see you go! This was rather sudden! I'll really miss my Shoebox. It's the easiest way to access photos from a specific date going back years. I'll also kiss my "This Day In History" emails. I loved that it actually made you look at all those photos you took.

Photos show up big and colorful. Extremely slow up. Took me 12 hours to transfer 167 photos to it from my cell. Also would like to be able to sort my photos by subject not just date. Do not really anticipate staying with it long.

I like shoebox but I use the free version and it has a limiton on the amount of video it will hold and the pixel quality of the photos. In turn makes my photos look different when I print them out as larger pictures.

I am so upset about trying to get all my photos to another platform due to Shoebox shutting down. Some of my items just won't transfer no matter what I do and there is no option to see what has transferred and what has not. I meticulously recorded my premature infant's first days in the NICU and am going to lose this precious documentation due to only having a short time and no assistance to save my photos. Very dissatisfied.

I love this app!! Just knowing I'm not going to accidentally delete my pictures or videos gives me peace of mind, AND...IT'S FREE!!! I read some of the reviews on here where people have said that the quality of the pictures/videos are poor quality, and you have to pay for the app in order to be able to use it. I haven't paid for mine and my pics and videos are just fine. I really don't have anything negative to say about it and I've been using it for almost a year now.

Loved this app, but lately I finding that it is not uploading my current camera photos. I have all the permissions checked and I have tried adding the missing folders but they do not come up. Can someone help me fix this please. Thank you.

I have an issue with the app which would mean a lot to me if it were fixed. I've been using shoebox for a while now to keep my digital artworks somewhere safe. I've transferred my art onto a new tablet using shoebox.. but the picture quality isn't good at all.. Could you help with this please?

A great solution to help with phone storage issues. Was fed up of my phone running like a bag of nails because it was overloaded with photos. Now all my photos are deleted and photos sent to Shoebox! My phone is running so much better!

I'd been using Shoebox for years, and it truly was one of the best apps for storing my photos. I also loved the timeline and "this day in history" photos. I'm really upset that they'll be shutting down on 5/22/19 😢😢😢

I WAS extremely satisfied with this app!! Then they sent out a memo on April 23, 2019 that this app is shutting down May 22, 2019! Now I'm frustrated and annoyed that I have to move all my pictures and videos elsewhere. I'm highly disappointed. 😤 Goodbye Shoebox. Thanks for all your support since 2013 of me finding this app. Also thanks for screwing me over in 2019. Ugh, how lame. 🤦🏻‍♀️
