Shogun’s Empire: Hex Commander is a turn-based strategy game with multi-layered gameplay mechanics.

MASTER ECONOMY AND DIPLOMACY ON A STRATEGY MAP
Choose from dozens of campaigns built around 15 historical clans. Conquer provinces and gain access to new type of units and strengthen your position in the region.
Make alliances, declare wars and maintain your honor level to get better prices and respect amongst your neighbours.
Create a strong economy and provide food for your troops, upgrade provinces to ultimately build an unstoppable army.

LEAD YOUR ARMY IN TACTICAL BATTLES
Recruit ashigaru, well-trained samurai or elite ninjas. Create an army that suits your tactics. Choose from melee soldiers equipped with yari, various sword wielding units, ranged troops with various bow types, rifles, and more. Utilize cavalry to fight in the open battlefields or dominate with high-powered cannons during castle sieges.
Your soldiers gain experience during battle and become more effective and deadly. Each army is commanded by a general that boosts morale and provides additional bonuses like army size and combat skills.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN MEDIEVAL JAPAN
Japanese voice-overs, detailed units and landscapes with dynamic seasonal cycles and an art style, influenced by historical paintings, will help you to feel the atmosphere of the Land of Cherry Blossoms.
A user-friendly interface with contextual tips and hints will help you to learn the rules in no-time and enjoy the game at its max potential.

Great strategy game. Finished the game without paying, though I would consider buying a version with better AI. Once the mecanics understood it is actually very easy. I even finished an extreme difficulty tribe having conducted only one battle. Battles are fun and simple enough for someone with minimum experience in hexagonal strategy games. Logic must be applied when fighting cavalry/ pikemen/ archers. The game AI itself follows such basic rules. Good work.

My experience is undescribable This is the sixth time I am downloading this game Just because it's very sweet. Just few days after I delete it I begin to miss it again. Make sure you download and never delete

Well I had concur all areas in a match but still the game was not ended and my reputation was lost due to not attacking. Also there should be a cut scene that u become the ruler of Japan if u concur all area.

One of the better games I've played on mobile. It's a pretty good experience, at the higher difficulties. The other clans will come for you. They will use their superior tech, numbers, and a bit of tactical smarts to destroy you. You have to be smart and aggressively expand to fight them back. It makes for a real challenge. If you want a challenging tactical experience, play the higher difficulties. Which, to the dev's credit, they let you do right after the tutorial.

First, if y'all didn't already know, every game HNG puts out is awesome. This game seems to improve upon the mechanics of its predecessor. It does two things which I love. 1. It expands strategy to not just be on the battlefield, but on the whole war campaign. Very few games do this and it's awesome. 2. It makes casualties matter. When I played Fantasy Heroes, I challenged myself to have no [or at least minimal] casualties. In this game, minimizing casualties is key in winning the war.

Very cool game. Works well and has some good strategy in, but it's not hard to master. Has in game tutorials, few ads (and it's cheap to have them removed). You can have the gameplay last a while longer by trying to beat your own scores (months to goal). If it had a multiplayer aspect, to compare scores or even play with friends, it'd be absolutely perfect. A better, more challenging AI would also be a great addition, because one can simply predict *all* their moves, making it extra easy.

its a great game but there are alot of problems that make it hard to enjoy for long. You'll lose food and money faster than you can make it while the AI seem very well off from the start. Its almost impossible to have more than one army. Although through trail and error you will get better at the game but only by so much unless you pay with real money.

RECOMMENDED. Fun game, gets a little dry after a while. The in-app purchases actually feel optional, which is a refreshing change from what's becoming the industry standard. Im looking forward to future Hex Commander titles, hopefully the next one will have a simular style but more faction variety, maybe sonething in the Spring and Autumn era? Fun, worthwhile game, overall. They have a bit of room to improve, but I, unfortunately, can't really decide on what I'd recommend they do.

The game has a very tactical method to it when you play and there's really no way around the strategic aspect. And as great as it sounds, that's exactly what's wrong with the game. There's just ONE strategy to the entire game. The gold is very scarce to even load up, the rice is even scarcer. There is no concept of morale on the battlefield, neither anything unexpected happens, like ever. There should me a better political and war aspect to the game, just overall.

I've been waiting for a game like this for so long. Thanks HNG, I really love it. Battling's not that hard when you know strength and weakness of each unit. Also you need to know when to upgrade/demolish buildings. Recommendations: To be more realistic, generals can't exchange units if the distance is too far. Can you guys re-work the art styles a little bit? I really want those paintings to be more "Japanese" if possible. Thanks.

It's Shogun 2 Lite. Turn based in tactical, but moves fast. All the elements work really well together in campaign. It's designed to be fast paced so there is no grand strategy to the campaign map. The AI is always on the defensive as long as you position a small defensive force in the danger area highlighted by the game. It's free with very few ads and is worth playing through a campaign or two.

Solid mechanics, but lack of variety in campaigns. As a mobile strat game, this is well done. The R-P-S style unit balance is great, battles are engaging, you actually have to think about movement in battle and the map. The terrain is well made so fights are interesting but still quick. BUT, economy and campaigns are repetitive. Do a few of the "Rise of Clans" ones and you've seen it all. Rebellions should create rebel factions to fight. More varied clan goals and maps for later cams needed!

I love this game but what is crazy is that enemy armys can be built in my turn. I can also take over all of the enemy's land and leave them with a castle but somehow they can survive for months with no money and no food. Please can you fix these problems the can be very annoying because they make the game very unrealistic. It also makes the enemys feel unstoppable in the endgame.

Best strategy game of 2019, and I've only played 2 missions... Perfect phone strategy game. I got no sleep last night playing it. Really plays a lot like the first Total War: Shogun. With updated graphics and phone interface. A perfect balance of strategy and tactical gameplay. The option to opt-out of information gathering alone deserves a 5 star. Gameplay, graphics, all around i love this game. Long time total war gamer, and this takes me back, while still moving forward.

This is honestly on of my favourite games to play when I dont have much to do. The game is pretty simple but you can make things interesting because you can mix up your tactics. The different campaigns are great. Some are challenging while some are very simple. If I could ask of one thing to add to the game that would be online campaigns to play with a friend. You can pay for extra units but it's not in anyway pay to win. They are only an addition to the fun you can get from this fantastic game

Amazing game, had me occupied for quite some time. I love the flow of the game, but the ai/gameplay isn't overly complex (it's on mobile so you get what is possible). Overall great game to waste some hours on, ads after battles are okay, it is not overflooding with ads and notifications. You can purchase additional premium units, but it is totally playable and functional without, they are a bit better/more flavour but not necessarily essential.

Absolutely beautiful. The strategy is amazing, and the graphics are beautiful. The game runs smoothly and holds perfectly for anyone that enjoys the strategies of warfare. I definitely recommend. I really enjoy that you not only involve yourself in the strategies of war, but that you must maintain order in the land you control. Absolutely perfect.

Very nice game. The graphics and gameplay are awesome. It reminds me very much of Total War: Shogun 2. I think the creators were very much inspired by it and used similar icons and units, but were nonetheless able to turn a pc game into a very enjoyable smartphone game^^ It's very well done and I would advise anyone to try it. I just think it might tend to become a little repetitive after a while^^

A very interesting game with many different aspects to master but the one thing that bugs me is the controls in battle and on the map mode as sometimes you accidentally tap other things. Also in the map mode when you tap things it makes a loud noise so I just muted it but I can't hear the beautiful music anymore so if the developers read this can you fix it or add like a separate box in the settings to turn off special effects. Overall the game is amazing and I would recommend it to history fans

game deserves 5 stars because it brings the total war experience to mobile devices. but even in the ultra difficulty its really easy. in the battles all you need to do take a defensive stance and wait for enemy even in the sieges. ai is very poor. otherwise units and economy well balanced while the honor points is a brand new thing for a strategy game. graphics also satisfying. thanks for developing such a game.

I like this game a ton! Good graphics, runs smooth, great units to use, etc. The only downside Ive come across is the stupid AI, I can siege a castle by waiting outside the walls for about 4 turns, the AI sends every defender including the general outside abandoning the advantage of the castle completely.. I enjoy this much more than the other Hex Commander game and I hope the series continues.

Great game, just some additions and fixes needed. One fix is that even when it says "easy win, no losses" you can still lose more than half of your troops on automatic battles, even when you completely outclass your opponent. A nice addition would be more information about some classes, like being more specific about the nagita's strengths and weaknesses.

It's what I've been looking for, a mobile version of a somewhat simpler total war clone. Free version is quite playable, ads are occasional and not annoying. Currently giving 3 stars until the following are improved on. 1) Diplomacy. Allies always declaring war because your border state does not have a defending army, even if my nearby armies are able to curb stomp them in a war. 2) lots more to say but word limit so I'll just put 1 lol.

Update. Best scenery graphics and effects I've seen on mobile. Units are good too. Zooming is seamless. Gameplay is unique - great maybe for some, maybe not for others. Definitely worth a look. NOT pay-to-play, but most likely you will need some in-app units or gold to complete it. Units prices are roughly 3 for $3, or about $13 Australian for all 18. Bargain, and they are Good. Worth checking out.
