I like this app, for the most part. It seems to think that meat alternatives are meat when you submit to avoid meat. Fixing this would help immensely for us non-meat-eating folks. Other that, it's great and the barcode scanner is super efficient. Doesn't take a lot of time to use and if you have allergies this is perfect.
I began using this app when my doctor recommended I do the low fodmap diet for 6 weeks. I thought this would make shopping for specific foods a lot easier. Boy, was I wrong. It is not accurate when you scan items in the store. For example, I would scan items, and it would say to avoid this item because of a certain ingredient in it, like soy. I would then look at the ingredients on the product and nowhere would it be listed. I would not recommend this app.
Im allergic to pork, there's not a specific setting for pork, so I just set it to avoid meat altogether. I also set my dietary needs as vegetarian. I scanned several items in the grocery store that were not vegetarian to see how it worked, things like chicken broth, beef stock, and gelatine. They all came up as good matches! Do not trust this app!
I was reluntant at first to try this app due to a lot of negative reviews and comments. I just found out some food allergies that is includes in lots of foods, such as wheat, and this app is a good help. It also helps with other ingredients you want to avoid, such as sugar, etc. It even shows you foods that will be good for you to choose that disclides everything, which is good for someone new to a bad allergy trying to find new foods to eat. So far, I love this app
I just installed this app and for the second item I scanned, the nutrition information in the app is incorrect for Great Value Dry Roasted & Salted Peanuts seasoned with sea salt. For example, the app is showing an incorrect product image, nutrients that are not on the product label like vitamin E, and the app is showing incorrect values for several nutrients when compared to the label, like amount of carbs, sugar, and magnesium.
Downloaded this app to help make purchasing allergen free food for my baby easier. It claims to be able to warn you about allergens quickly and easily with an intuitive scanning feature....but it's wrong more often than it's right. I can scan something that's clearly labeled "dairy free", and this app will say it contains dairy. It even makes recommendations that clearly contain milk, like cheese puffs! Honestly, it seems like it simply recommends bougie brands and nothing else.
This seems like a very useful app... However, it's useless for my purposes. I am vegan, but, as somebody with many, many food sensitivities from chronic illness which aren't based on any mainstream 'diet,' this app has no way to let me manually input foods which I have a sensitivity to... So, vegan or not, this app isn't helpful when I still have to read ingredient labels myself anyway.
In theory this is a great app but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work even once. I created multiple profiles trying to customize it for my needs and nothing. Every page showed error 500, whatever that means. They need to go through their code for Android and find what's broken.
Finally found out what my food sensitivities are and this app is wonderful helping me choose the correct foods for me. Love the simplicity and ease to scan barcodes and results are instantly available. Thank you for creating this amazing app. Making my journey to a better lifestyle a breeze.
Best app I found for seeing if certain foods will aggravate my food sensitivities without having to scan every goddamned label and look everything up myself. Could stand to be fleshed out a bit more, but a great tool nonetheless.
Needs more options with foods to avoid. Please add pork
Always have to log in. Tells me items that have worcestershire sauce in it is ok to eat with a fish allergy!!! beware and always make sure you look at the ingredients. also does not have any non food items on data base. which is a real shame.
Was looking for an app that includes allergies to the Allium family. This app does include wanting to follow the low FODMAP diet but does not list specific intolerances for onion, garlic, and other allium family foods that can cause intolerance issues. The FODMAP option doesnt work by itself as garlic and onion are high FODMAP foods and this app, with the option to avoid those types of foods, does not flag them when scanning. I scanned an item that contains both and it only flagged preservatives.
Not helpful if you are shopping with food restrictions. Instead of giving me alternatives, the app just told me I can't have these products. For example, there's plenty of vegan cheese on the market but they don't have any on the app.
I'm trying to avoid legumes and grains and yet the app shows me legumes and grains as an option. Why have someone fill out their avoidance and dislikes but your app does what it wants? Everybody diet is different! I guess allergies don't matter! I email the company, but no response!
Great for people with allergies! The only shortcoming is it takes forever, if at all, for the database to update when an item is submitted for review.
When I'm stuck having to buy an item on the go, this app is a lifesaver. A quick scan tells me whats in the item and if it matches my goals. I absolutely love this app and highly recommend it .
This is the first app we've tried since my daughter got diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity that actually seems to work properly and gives accurate information for gluten after scanning a product's barcode. We are keeping this one and uninstalling the others. Thank you!
I really enjoy this shop well you can scan item in a store and it can let you know the nutrition and the vitamins that you are getting and also whether or not it's a good product I really do like the app a lot I really am going to keep it I think .
So far so good! My only suggestion would be to add a filter menu to searches / scanned items / lists, which provides options for sorting by food groups, brands, descending/ascending number rating, and excellent, good, poor, etc. matches only. As it is, looking through lists and searches is a nightmare when you have a LOT of items to look through. Another helpful feature would be to add an option to filter out duplicate items in searches--I once had a search give me 10+ dupes for several items.
