Shortcut for Google Sound Search

Excellent app; saved me. As reported, apparently the original native Google Sound Search widget (white note on blue icon) was removed from the Google app. I was not aware of this until later. I found out after trying to add a new widget but couldn't find it listed under available Google widgets. Strange, because the original Sound Search I had dropped to the home screen was still there and functional after it was removed from the Google app. I deleted the original shortcut and can't get it back.

Disappointed. Android version 8.o on Samsung J7 Crown. No longer works. I keep getting "something went wrong". UPDATE: Love this app. I find it very useful. Any problems I had before have been fixed. Use it quite often as my memory not what it used to be & never was really good at remembering band names or singer names. Or song titles. lil

Considering the app is ad-free, it's accuracy of detecting the correct song is probably 80%. Sometimes Google's system doesn't comprehend the difference between rap and hip hop. Or, pop and blues.

Previous version had better performance, for example I could find some music on YouTube App, but now it doesn't work when I open another App, so when user opens a new App, Google Sound Search will stop hearing, therefore it can't find music. It can't hear from any other App like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok , it just work via music player (not perfectly, when Sound Sreach starts hearing, stops music player but you can start music player again). So bring back previous version.

4/23/22. Crashes every time on opening. Immediately displays message "Couldn't find a close match". No ability to redo search. Broken.

For some strange reason when I sent my phone to get repaired they factory reset it and the sound search widget doesn't work, it just keeps on showing a "Google has stopped working" popup. This shortcut is very useful in some cases.

I used to be able to play audio to a bluetooth device from my phone and then use this app simultaneously to identify the song. Now when I'm playing a song to the bluetooth device and click on the app, the music is muted and the app doesn't pick up the song. Please fix this so that it works how it used to work.

Really a good app. I couldn't find the widget on my phone so I downloaded this works perfectly as it should. Also works in split screen so you can search the sound of your own phone without using another. 5 stars all the way!

The app worked perfectly up to today with the most recent update. Starting via the app drawer works but starting from the notification area force closes the app immediately. 2* EDIT: Thank you for such a quick response, for that I'll add a star! I don't know how I made it through the 90's not having the luxury of this app! I actually had to do insane research to find a song that wasn't played on the radio stations and now all I have to do is hum a tune in this bad boy and it gives me my song EVERY time! So great!!! Easily 5 stars!

Does not work on Samsung S9. Hold on home screen, system widgets, "G Feed" & you will find the widget for this app. BUT, it fails everytime! uninstalled. LOVED Google Sound Search when I had S6 & 7 but it does not work on S9 model. Really disapointing. 😞

Make it like shazam, otherwise it's no good. If I click it from notification panel it opens and blocks what is playing in background. What's the point? Make it like Shazam where a button is shown over other apps and it can find the music. Google is way better than Shazam with way better AI and huge collection on YouTube.

It's kind of infuriating that Google doesn't have this functionality built in but thanks a million for making this shortcut possible. I was so tired of always using my voice to ask Google what I was listening too and i did not want to install the bloated Shazam app for a simple functiinality that my phone phone has built in.

This Google sound search switches of the sound off my device when you press it and can't find a song I'm playing simultaneously. The old Google sound search could...please fix this or bring back the old Google sound search...why change it in the first place.

Works Great. Angela Estrello - try Shazam, I screenshot all sound searches (useful for YT). Needed 'cause Microsoft Launcher WON'T let Google Sound Search widget be placed on ANY screen (supposed to open dialog box to allow permission) - well Microsoft doesn't block THIS app/link. ★★★★★ UPDATE switched to Google Go to save space - app does need normal Google app, oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It was good. Some songs it could not recognise but most of the songs it could found. But after new update it is not opening in my phone. I don't know what inside new update.😔😒

It's very fast, which is nice. It's way faster than Sound Hound. What would be awesome is homescreen widgets, so that you can search right from the homescreen without going into the app...

awesome ! awesome ! awesome ! I didn't believe that it would work at first ..but I was trying really hard to look up a Korean song ..... I liked the music but the lyrics were not understandable ....and this app worked like magic ...love love love this !! wish I could give it a hundred stars !!

Does exactly as intended, works perfectly and the option to use it as an assist app is extremely helpful when you want to access while driving.

This app is absolutely rubbish. There's a song stuck in my head that I attempted to find and no matter how precisely I have hummed, it takes me to a song that is not even remotely close to what I was hoping to find. The song I'm trying to find is a pretty popular song with 100's of millions of views on YouTube and it is pretty apparent that that is what I'm looking for...

This app works well. Exactly like what it is made for, to display "couldn't find a close match" everytime we search for a song.

I was looking for a song for some time. It only listened that song for 3-4 sec and finded the complete song. Thank you very much.

Excellent, better than soundhound! It found the exact song with barely 3 seconds into the instrumental tune. 😳 !!!!
