Shotokan Karate Katas
Movements performed in kata alone can then be implemented with a partner. These exercises are called bunkaï.
The goal of the kata is twofold:
- On the one hand make work gestures, postures ... in given situations, to have a learning "quiet" and more applied than during a fight.
- On the other hand to discover fundamental principles of martial arts, such as distance management, attitude and management of balance, coordination of movements.

A mishmash of old materials Most Katas are here in the fotm of bad scans of A4 size drawings of the steps, annotated in German. A few are links to youtube videos. This looks like a 1st app written by a student and has the usefulness of a YouTube playlist, or less.
This is like hitting the shotokan jackpot. So many complete forms. No video. This is like having a masters handbook. I dearly wish more styles had these. Many are quite hard to find
this app is an interesting and awesome,especially for those practising without instructors.
There are the trivial pictures in German you can find in pdf using less memory
Only has pictures of foot movement. No videos and no Ushiro ones.

Perfect.. I love kata workouts as it relaxes my nerves, however you wrote Two Heian Shodans, instead of Heian Nidan. A typo, correcting which will be better for beginners. I personally have no problems with it, as I had practiced Karate for 7 years and I have a huge background in Karate. Thanks for the nice app. 🙂
