The Bhagavad Gita, also referred to as Gita, is a 700–verse Dharmic scripture that is part of the ancient Sanskrit epic Mahabharata. This scripture contains a conversation between Pandava prince Arjuna and his guide Krishna on a variety of philosophical issues.
Faced with a fratricidal war, a despondent Arjuna turns to his charioteer Krishna for counsel on the battlefield. Krishna, through the course of the Gita, imparts to Arjuna wisdom, the path to devotion, and the doctrine of selfless action. The Gita upholds the essence and the philosophical tradition of the Upanishads. However, unlike the rigorous monism of the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita also integrates dualism and theism.
Numerous commentaries have been written on the Bhagavad Gita with widely differing views on the essentials, beginning with Adi Sankara's commentary on the Gita in the eighth century CE. Commentators see the setting of the Gita in a battlefield as an allegory for the ethical and moral struggles of the human life. The Bhagavad Gita's call for selfless action inspired many leaders of the Indian independence movement including Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who referred to the Gita as his "spiritual dictionary".

It's a grt app... But the only reason I've given 3 star is coz the texts of Shlokas are not highlighted or distinguished by the commentary or explanation. I would request u to plz differentiate the shlok and its meaning by highlighting and font size differentiating. Also, plz mark the shlok no before each shlok. These will make the search easier and reading more pleasant.

Srimad Bhagawat Gita is same everywhere but was curious to install it seeing the ratings... Good page turn effect however very poor readability... What is the use for a reading app if you can't read it well

The App GITA is really great. This helps me lots to fight against my poverty. I left my study at class 12 due to poverty. I was reading GITA that time. I worked and after 2 years again I gave competition & now I am civil Engineer. Now my family is very happy.

Kindly start to update this app once again. I know its been 7+ years, but.. The app is really great. It's nicely designed keeping in mind the font styles, font shades, the background of the book, and that page turning izz really nice. Overall its easy navigation in app, yet giving a paush(royal) feel as a whole. I request you to start the process once again and also start BETA Testing of it.. Vande Dharmam, Vande Karmam.. 🙏🏼
