A small suggestion to those who are trying but can't get their images approved. First tip : Make sure your main subject and the background are totally separate from each other. And there's a shallow depth of field. Secondly : Keep your editing minimal add enough brightness and colour to your images but not too much. Thirdly : Give a straight forward and simple description. For example : A monarch butterfly on a white flower, Close up shot of a pelican, etc.

Trying to post some stunning drone photography, getting rejected for being out of focus when it's not, complaints about noise when they're low light night shots where noise is unavoidable, I'm using the DJI Mini 2 for budget reasons I guess if you can't afford the Mini 3 with less low light noise you're screwed? What a poorly run business. I noticed that it wanted me to give the app a good review immediately before I had a chance to try it, but only a positive one

Don't waste your time, every review you get is automatically generated and does not make sense, also how can it see grain in day light??!!

I don't know how this app has such good writing because of the level of suckingness it has. Won't accept any images I upload. Always has some kind of excuse about blur or image noise. You would think they would know the difference between blur and focusing on a specific point and blurring out the background. Flagship phone and none of my images are good enough?

Uploading images is easy enough) although a fair few get duplicated in the process). You can only select 10 images at a time, so if you have a lot of similar shots that require the same keywords it is a very laborious process. Then once you've gone through adding keywords, descriptions and categories to each of your photos, 99% of them get rejected for focus reasons. I'm not sure the people at Shutterstock understand depth of field and that people may want a photo with out of focus areas.

It's very useful for submitting your photos, it functions exactly like the browser version. I usually upload my images from where they were edited and use this app on my phone, tablet and the browser version on my laptop. All are linked. However the market is very saturated and it does take a long while to start earning anything worth the time it takes to submit and label all image.

This app has so much potential, but fails to deliver. My first gripe is the change from black to white background. Any photographer knows it's much easier to view pics against a black background. That's a relatively minor problem though. Of more concern is the fact that the app is different on phone and tablet. On the phone it's pretty good, but on a tablet it's awful. It's not possible, on the tablet, to see income from all months on one screen, and you have to scroll through them one by one.

Great app at first: great UI, the idea of it all, making small chump change for your photos etc etc. But as I have experienced not even a day having the account and something everyone has had the issue as well, the bot the reviews the photos is absolutely too strict about what approves and disapproves. It's ridiculous. I shoot primarily 35mm film and most of my photos look absolutely great, comparable to a phone camera or High end DSLR. And they're still denied. Waste of time. Uninstalling.

It's a good concept, and that's about it. There's something wrong with their image reception/image uploading system, because images that were marked for grain/noise did NOT have them in my camera, on my computer, or when uploading to other platforms. They are put into a lower quality that takes on grain/noise , making them unusable. The fact that I can zoom into an image and see details very clearly on all of my devices, but Shutterstock's uploader is trash & ruins them. Fix this. This is bad.

This app makes no sense. First of all, I have to try multiple times before any image is uploaded successfully. Second of all, out of the 10 photos I uploaded, only 2 were approved. The other 8 were rejected because of chromatic noise, luminous noise, sharpening noise, etc. All the photos were taken by me, a professional photographer, using my A7RIII and GM lenses. This app is just a waste of time. But I'll still use shutterstock for stock photos.

Waste of time. I'm a photographer, thought this would help me make some extra pocket change here and there; I was wrong. I've entered pictures with HD quality and been denied for 'low quality' EVERY time. Not to mention when they send the picture back to tell me what's wrong with it, it's in significantly worse quality. Which means the problem is on YOUR end.

Pretty bad experience, from the AI and their machine learning algorithms autosuggesting that the black people are poor and of poverty to a horrible reviewer process. I followed every requirement to the T, and then they reject and say look at the requirements. So I'd look again and know for certain that I've submitted everything accurately. Overall, it's not worth it. Receiving so many photos a day is no reason for a sucky experience. Just submit on other platforms, others pay better anyway.

Really good app. Super simple, easy to use. Almost everything is made very clear when you first upload an image. That said, there are a few things I think should be made clear at the start that aren't. The megapixel requirements for example. I also have a problem where the photos will repeatedly fail to upload, but it doesn't take that long in the first place, so it's a few minutes wasted at most. Overall, good app.

App asks VERY early for a review. What ive experienced has been pretty nice. Intuitive interface, clean easy to use. Whether it performs its function in the long term will decide my updated review. Only complaint so far is their ai seems to think all furry things are out of focus and doesn't let you define the subject of the photo. Maybe giving a selection area would be useful

I find this app very useful and comfortable, because I don't have to use laptop for uploading and filling in the description and other details for each photos. I can simply use this app to do it, whenever I have my time, like in the train on my way to the office. However, it will be more convience if there is a feature that allow us, the users, to select multiple photos that we want to submit, instead of submitting them one by one. Thanks a lot!!

Easy to use but the people who review it have no concept of style. They say some things are too dark or light etc when that's the art form of photography. If everyone wanted to just use the same style it would be boring being a photographer. Also they say some photos are blurry when they are shot in high resolution and very sharp detail. Or they say some has blur when that's the point is to have some areas put of focus. It's getting to the point I really dont care to deal with this company

I took professional photos with my high end camera and decided to share them on Shutterstock. I uploaded 20 of them, which is a lengthy process, and they were all "not approved" due to them being "out of focus". They are incredibly detailed and there is no focusing issue. Very disappointed with the review process for the app because it is clearly not correct.

Mic. F. Oct 14, 2021

App works fine, but the process is lacking. The determination of the expert team is quite debatable and here should be a reasonable method to arbitrate their decisions. I am an underwater photographer and many of my images state out of focus or issues with darkness. Much of my photography is performed with a snoot which is intentional and none of these photos can pass the "expert" review.

Cha. L. Jul 25, 2019

Easy to use and can upload my pictures any time any where. But the only setback is the keywords part. It does not prompt you which keywords keyed in is redundant. And it does allow you to search and copy keywords from other similar pictures in Shutterstock. The PC version allows you to do that.

Dai. L. Mar 2, 2021

Well, I am new in here. I love that I can just upload my photo(s) that I took it earlier, but some of my photos are rejected because of the "cannot read file" or something, I am using the same phone but change the resolution, I think this website still have many things to be fix. I am begging you to put the "submit" button when I want to submit multiple photos. I really annoyed by submit once per photo. But overall its amazing, please like this if you think the same as mine. :))

Nat. S. Nov 19, 2021

Awful. Won't accept ANY photos and give vague reasons like "descriptions must be in English and not be repetitive" but they aren't repetitive and are in English. Or "subject is out of focus"-who are you to tell me what the subject of my photo is? I know exactly what I was focused on when I took it! Recommend you stay away from this app and website.

Sun. G. S. Nov 25, 2020

The app is okay. There are some things the app doesn't do, and you have to go the website to do them. Also, sometimes photos get rejected for reasons that don't make any sense. For example, I've had photos rejected for not having a model release on file, even though there aren't any people in the photo. Or, I have had photos rejected for having words in my description that weren't in English, except my description was entirely in English and used good grammar.

Lea. J. Oct 13, 2021

My camera is very high-end. My photos are VERY are very clear and detailed. Nearly ALL photos were not approved for being of "out of focus", "too grainy", "subject too blurred" etc. I had a professional digital artwork content person look at them & she verified they are fine & that someone at Shutterstock must be visually impaired to mark mine as such. The Shutterstock company is a HUGE waste of time. I have closed my account. Don't waste your time.

They say image must be at least 4 megapixels. I provide not best, but still sharp enough images of 12 mp and more, without noise, but still they reject and say "out of focus". Moreover, this app automatically inserts number into file name of each image, and then receiving person refuses my photo, saying that "title must be descriptive and relevant to subject!" Almost useless app. It doesn't even show my uploaded videos. Any android web-browser will do much better job.

Simple and straightforward and intuitive. The page on PC or handheld device are both spectacular. Very easy to navigate simple yet very effective. Access your folders with notifications. Updates have been accurate images look spot on. I speak from 35 plus years experience now they have the product you want for your photographic needs truly owner Stephen Augle of 333image.

Jas. S. Feb 22, 2021

Overall fantastic. You can edit metadata on multiple images before submitting them. Easy and intuitive. For future updates would be nice to be able to add accepted photo to a set via app. Would also be nice to copy keywords like in browser version. Otherwise, it integrates nicely with phone and is easy to share a photo from gallery to contributor.
