It's not bad at all, it just needs some tweaks. I'm not sure why most of the hsvc seems to be missing even though it downloaded it? The search is decent and you can use your own keyboard as the c64 search keyboard is a bit small! You can't scroll by swiping your finger up and down which is a shame as it would be faster to navigate! Great work and thanks!
Really nice looking interface, search is a good beginning. Playing with reSid, it's OK (like Adidas football tune 1 sounds funky). Screen is unfortunately too small for the largish font, so search results are hard to see, also cannot get enlarged by landscape. Playing search could continue on next found song instead of looping. Notification should have buttons, incl. next song or next file. Finger scroll would be nice. The onscreen keyboard is really hard to use on a phone.
Brilliant app, it looks and more importantly sounds fantastic. The last app I used was never updated so the fact this integrates with HVSC is perfect. My only tiny niggle is the interface can be tricky to use when using the search option due to the keys being small. Other than that I love it, maybe add the ability to use the android keyboard instead of the C64 looking one as an option?
Ouch. The interface looks good in screenshots but does not work well in use. Scrolling is unbearably fiddly. Search is useless (check the screenshot - it only shows you a few characters and is right justified). Using this on a phone is impossible! The hunt for a standard android SID player with a regular interface continues. 2 stars because it can at least play music.
Fails to start on old galaxy s3. I know resources are tight with only a few gb of memory to run this, but when you hear that men went to the moon on less it makes you wonder what the hell is going on in the programing world these days. So many sloppy inefficient tools used to produce bloated software requiring ever more powerful processors to make them usable. Where will it end?
Keyboard & interface are made half-useless by trying to keep a big PETSCII look. Search fails to find known SIDs. Needs practical GUI, not a kitchsy GUI that wastes screen space. Filenames/paths are not fully visible due to oversized PETSCII style interface, even in landscape orientation. Thus, navigation is nigh impossible. Function should always trump cutesie. DeepSID is the new standard for making SIDs accessible. Android programmers need to use DeepSID as inspiration. Sound is fine in SidAmp
Songs? At one point it gave me the option to download Sid songs. And it didn't work? So no playlist. I uninstall and try and hope that option to download a playlist goes away forever? What happened to the playlist download option?
Absolutely the best app out there! Still under construction and already the feeling is like using the old Commodore it self. One recuest thou, you could make the oscilloscope line a bit bigger verticaly since now the low volume lines are only just visible. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Great app if you are a fan of the C64 and SID music. The look and feel is great. The player does not show a moving graph, but it might be an issue with my phone and Android version. What a beauty!
Great app. I love PETSCII style. Sid files plays perfectly, both PSID and RSID types. File chooser is hard to control, maybe to scroll with fingers or arrows could be double size. I don't mind it, touchscreen is never good for any control. Maybe add "favorite folder" onscreen?
Love it! Gets better with the updates too! It still needs some features, like favourites and playlist, stereo mixing or hall effects, and a better. Search function, but this is the side player I was looking for, for years.
Great SID player, needs some more đ on the interface and plists. Recently didn't want to start anymore. Turns out that denying the permission to record audio fixes the problem. Pixel 2 XL with latest updates.
* Update comment Aug 2019. Well done developer. Added the playlist feature to this already amazing app. Keep the scene alive. G*P ;) Love Sidamp player. But please add scrolling through the songs using swipe up and down. The scroll bar at the side is a real nightmare :( Can't wait for playlist feature :)
Currently having a spell in hospital post op and this app is a complete sanity saver! Brilliant just bloody brilliant. Does everything that it says on the breadbin plus the HVSC. Special praise for getting an authentic C64 UI to actually function. My only suggestion might be to be able to adjust the colour scheme for AMOLED screens, i.e. dark. Wow and thank you! (",)
Superb playback quality and accurancy but with poor UI. Also nonstandard notification controls (which is not compatible with any os player handling or thirdparty widgets). Player also stops playing correctly if song skipped too often.
This app needs support for external SD card! This player only reads files in the internal storage but my internal storage is always very low on my phone and I have a lot of open space on the SD card though. Please, You have to make support for THAT otherwise I have to SWITCH to another SID playing compatible app!
Great sid player especially now my default one has been discontinued. Love the retro c64 interface and the fact that it uses the latest hvsc. Maybe have a little demo tab that plays a demo with some sprites and colour bars etc while listening to three current tune your listening to. Maybe scroller or sine scroller for info and a big logo? Just a crazy retro thought haha. Keep up the great work đđģđđģ
User interface is bad scrolling is terrible, can't replay one tune in a multi tune file without it jumping to the next tune. Screen is tiny on my 6.5 inch phone big borders top bottom and sides love the c64 style but I don't find it user friendly.
Love it. Great job! Interface is sometimes tricky to use but utterly charming. Great design! Casting via the google home app to a chromecast audio means I get easy access to C64 goodness on my old-skool stereo too :)
Hard to judge a fantastic free app like this. I used to have another for years with no updates of the SID library, hope this one will do that. The GUI is nice although I would prefer a full list of the songs rather the alphabetical directories. Thank you very much.
Love it... Apart from the fact that hvsc is kept on the phone as individual files. Do I really want 50000 tiny files on my phone? Not at all. One zipped file with 0 compression is what I prefer. For now sticking with Droidsound-e.
Nice piece of software. Love the C64 UI. One suggestion can you add a PAL/NTSC speed option as some SIDs play at the "wrong" speed e.g. Gyruss plays at NTSC speed which sounds wrong if you're used to the PAL game.
Excellent app, found all the C64 music I wanted after the database was downloaded, the interface is classic C64 and works well once you get used to it. Thanks.
File browser can't be flicked, instead you're forced to use a scrollbar that's barely accessible if you're using a protective case for your phone. No library search so you're forced to browse.
Love it. Great SID player. One thing that would be a nice feature would be to have one oscilloscope per channel showing them separately.
Super cool Command line like, doesn't play other format...... Wish it could, not a lot of sid, more mod, xt files on my phone, color picker would be WOW for interface.
Great aesthetic, excellent sound reproduction. Didn't use the full screen on my Moto One Action. I kept tapping the wrong thing due to tiny touch domains. I didn't know what I had tapped because there is no visual feedback. Back navigation changes. Text in lists is often cut off with no clear way to see what is truncated. Requires a lot of scrolling with on screen scroll bar, doesn't allow swiping. Better scaling, more intuitive text display & swipable lists would earn 5 stars.
