This has been a nightmare. I am a NYC Real Estate agent and the app worked great for about four years. Then this past October (2021) all of my incoming calls started showing up as random out of state numbers. I have no idea which calls to pick up and not to pick up. I've been in contact with customer service at least twenty times over the past several months and they keep walking me through the same trouble shooting steps with no success. Then I am told the issue has been escalated to their tech team (at least ten times for this as well). Unfortunately I can't drop the number now as I've been using it for so long and all of my contacts are on here. I most certainly would not recommend this app for business, especially a business like real estate which is very phone-reliant.
within the app it does not have separate folders for calls and texts. You have on long poorly designed interface. For example. If you get a text from a number and then receive calls throughout the day it is a nightmare to try to find the text unless you go one by one through each number. For an app that charges to use DO BETTER....there ARE BETTER alternatives to Sideline!!! Fix it! Now
I GAVE A REVIEW, YOU GAVE ME AN EMAIL ADDRESS THAT GOOGLE SAYS DOESNT EXIST. STILL NO FIX! I have been using it since November with no issues. I got a new phone and installed Sidleine & it has worked great for the first week. Now the phone no longer rings for Sideline. I'm missing calls & it's making things extremely difficult. It's not my phone, because my phone rings just fine for my personal calls. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times & that didn't fix the problem. PLEASE HELP!!
I am at the point of being ready to change apps. I have been using Sideline for years. No issues. I changed phones, now when someone calls it refuses to show who is actually calling. It shows Sidelines number...not mine, but some other number. I also used to use the auto text reply & recently that no longer works. I also have been struggling multiple times to send texts or make outgoing calls. I have to restart my phone which is ridiculous when my normal phone number works... I'm done!
Customer service team is helpful, but I'm not terribly impressed with the phone service. I'm not sure if it's a compatibility issue with my phone or not, but I feel like I miss a lot of my calls when I try to answer them, and the text doesn't support all types of text, i.e. someone trying to text me a vCard contact.
The mobile version works exceptionally well, but the desktop (computer) version's performance isn't so great. I'm having issues where the page would freeze causing a lag when I type and I am a fast typer. I would sometimes have to sign out and sign in again so the program can perform better.. Please fix this issue.. I would like to continue using this program..
The current web version of the app is awful. The contact list is way too busy. Also, once you change the contact name, it will no longer show you the phone number, even if you erase the name. Who thought this was a good idea?
I set up the account with my current number. today I put in the # that I used signing up & password. keeps saying to use the numbery phone came with. Except that isn't the # that's connected to the phone now. . Why won't it let me use the # I used to set it up & get the verification on. Also same 1 used to verify for reset password. The only number that's been used with the app. . But it refuses to let me into my account. Hadn't even used it yet.
I paid for this app for a few years and it was great. Now it's useless. Every outgoing call I make from the app shows my cell number on the caller ID. If I wanted my cell number going out I wouldn't need this app. I gave you 6 weeks and 20 emails to fix it. You are clearly unable to fix the app so I found another solution. Definitely will not recommend to anyone.
Great customer service! I haven't used the app much yet, but when porting my number in, I had a few very helpful associates help me and they never rushed me. I got actual answers to each question, and did had a great experience.
I've had no problems with call quality or texts. I pay 9.99 a month and should have done the $60 for the whole year instead.
I thought that this was gunna be a free second line app cuz some of the reviews sounded good but then it comes up with a 7 day trail then $9.99 after the 7 day trail.
I described in great detail the issue I've been having, listed what I've done to try to correct the problem. No contact for trouble shooting from the developers so I have cancelled my pay subscription. I will have to pay to have the number ported to another app just to avoid changing my number and having to notify my clients of another number change. In ADDITION to the monthly charge I have been paying for an app that will NOT let me answer calls because I have no idea anyone is even calling.
My inbound txt messages don't appear. Then after I send a recipient a text, I notice I missed a whole conversation. So far I haven't lost any business. I have cleared cache and storage and uninstalled reinstalled.
Unreliable and glitchy. I use this professionally and I have had to uninstall and reinstall three times in the last month. Could be very cool, particularly with VoIP calling, but is too unpredictable.
Best app! Makes it easy to keep personal texts separate from work. Highly recommend if you have clients or patients who need to contact you, but you don't want to give them your personal number. Works great for contractors and vendors too.
Charges you RIGHT FROM THE START. They have you put in a card number for a "Free Trial'. Not many people trust unknown resources enough to disclose their financial info. That's why it has only 3 stars in ratings.
If you don't enter your debit or credit card you can't use... Is not really free... Has a lot advertising... You have to pay for no ads and any extras services... Don't waste your time in this...
Custom ringtone isn't working anymore. I've had this app for a few years and everything worked perfect until recently.
What did you do?!?! SERVICE IS NOW USELESS. I use this for business and now I have no way of returning calls as the caller ID is from some random call center and area code!! This is BS. FIX IT. I pay for things to make my life easier not more difficult 😕
I have a second business so I use this app to separate the two lines. Overall, I like it. It has its own ring tone, voicemail, text message. Lately I have been getting messages or text messages from customers asking me to stop calling them. The thing is that I never called them so I didn't understand why I was being told that. I had a customer send me a screenshot and it showed that I called multiple times. I'm concerned that my number is going to get band or a bad rep due to this issue. I would appreciate some help.
If you need to reset your password, it won't tell you there is a limit to the number of characters you can input... but there is. If you use a password manager it will accept 20 out of the 40 characters (20 is just a number being used to convey the issue, not sure what the limit is) you input as your password and drop the remaining. Once you return to the login page and enter those 40 characters it will tell you your password is "Incorrect". Not a deal breaker, but annoying.
When receiving calls the phone won't ring so if you're not looking at the phone you won't know you have a call til later on when you go to use the app for a text or something you see you have a missed call notification on a particular contacts bar on your phone screen
I have paid for this service for years but have always had issues with app never ringing in real time. I use it as an answering service for my business. Needs a lot of work for it to function like a true second phone number.
Nice app and service, but I chose Sideline because of the caller ID capabilities but, unfortunately, the incoming caller ID is very intermittent such as incoming calls from the same person or company sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't work (it will simply display Incoming call via Sideline) at about a 15 percent failure rate. Since we use Caller ID to avoid robocallers, we are now losing 15 potential customers per 100 incoming calls. We will continue to evaluate for the next week
Help! All my calls come in announced as a contacts. Never the name of the person/company that is actually calling. How do reset the caller ID to pick up the correct contact name and display it.
It doesn't appear to accept verifications yet it doesn't give me an error message. Totally unacceptable.
I've had this for about 6-7 months now and it worked ok at first, but the last 2 months or so, when I get calls, it comes up as RANDOM area codes from different states! When I do business in 1 state, it's very hard to get calls that show from 5 different states, but they're actually in my state! I use this for work, but I'm so frustrated with the service, that I'm willing to end my subscription and chage my number completely and get a new service, because this one is dangerously unreliable.
