Great app! I'd much rather play the notes on a physical keyboard than tap buttons on a screen. Not having ads is also great. My one issue is that the lowest Cb note always shows up as too high, no matter what I play. Also, if there are two consecutive notes an octave apart, playing the first note will also register as correct for the second note.
It's a good app. I like that it hears piano notes played. But what's frustrating is that the 1 minute time can't be modified. As someone just learning sheet music, it goes from C,D,E,F,G,A in beginner to full range with sharps and flat in easy mode. With only 1 minute, I barely get in 20 notes played before time is up. If it at least gave me 2 minutes, I could get more notes played and feel like I accomplished something. And if I could get full range without #'s and ♭'s, that would be helpful.
I like this app and it does away with the need for MIDI support by listening to the notes you play. It could be improved by allowing the user to specify the range of notes or the key over which the tests take place. In this app, left and right hands are tested separately whilst in real life base and treble clef are on the same page. I would happily pay for an upscaled version of this app if it incorporated the above
Love this app! It's just what I had been looking for. Let's me train to move my fingers on the keyboard, when I see the note, instead of trying to find the key on the screen... I would have liked to see some goal ranges to strive for, ex ..what is normal and acceptabl, but besides that it does exactly what I need it to do! Love it.. Thanks for providing this free help!
Doesn't work with transposing instruments like saxophones. An Eb and Bb option in settings would be very useful. Kind of useless for sax, trumpet, clarinet etc.. Correct notes played blur into the next note displayed and show as incorrect. I'll keep my eye on this in case Eb instrument recognition is added but no use to me until it is.
It works very well for piano, but does not work at all for string instruments. I don't know if it's because the sound is too different or string instrument just aren't exact enough, but if it is the latter please add an option to allow ±a certain amount
Not strong in recognizing notes when playing with a piano (any noise or talking will fool it), compared with competing apps. There is no guitar-hero like animation showing many notes, which I also prefer in other apps. Also, I found the ads super distracting
Perfect app. But reducing 2 stars because you can't use it without an instrument. I just wanted to learn to read music. Didn't wanted to learn any instruments and so I don't have any. Please improve your app and add option to have some buttons indicating the notes. This will enable users to learn on the go, when they don't have an instrument.
This app has great potential. Hopefully more features in the future. Hopefully features below will be available inthe future version 1. Be able to connect midi keyboard 2. Be able to configure note range 3. Be able to play both g clef and f clef at the same time 4. Be able to customize the duration Thank you
Great app. Its really taking my sight reading skills to next level. I would really love to have more features with premium version.
This is simply wonderful and amazing. You use your own external keyboard to practice, without plug-in anything.
Thanks a lot for this app. could you please add a settings for time, like it would be great if i can change it from 60 sec to 3~5 min. thanks. if you need a hand to develop i am ready to contribute.
thank you. this is the only free app i found which lets you practice sight reading on your piano. For future updates i'd like to be able to play longer exercises and both hands exercises. i love the app anyway!
Not bad for beginners, I wish there was an option for both hands to play together. Also don't know why but even if I play the right note it shows wrong(red).
Giving only 3 stars because everything is best but the only drawback of this app is that it gives only 1 min to practice at one time. Its practice time should be in our control.
I have privia px-150 and the app doesnt recognize notes lower than natural C2. When it asks for C2 flat it keeps saying the note is bit too high no matter how low notes i play.
Works well but needs the option to rotate. My music stsnd wont take a tablet in portrait mode.
The lowest note C flat (below the bass cleff) seems to be out of tune. Regardless which note i play it keep saying 'note is too high' even if I play even lower notes. Otherwise ok.
Fantastic app! It recognizes the keys that you play on the piano. Exactly what you need when you are practicing sight reading.
Its wonderful! I love how this app has improved my piano playing. I also play with my school band. Can you develop a sight reading app for wind instruments too?
It will not filp side ways the part where i have to plug in my phone keeps falling. The app will damage your wires if you play using up right
the best of the best, I'm playing the violin and this app works flawlessly, it can work on any instrument, not just the piano. thank you very much!
Good for the ABRSM Sight Reading part of the exam- you can practice this on a real piano instead of other apps where you only have to identify the note then click on a button
It is very nice but let there be a part that you will be taught before you enter the lessons but i give it 5 stars and it should also have sound
It helps me to improve my note reading skills but the drawback is that it for unclear reasons asks permission to access contacts.
You use your own piano or instrument to play rather than clicking buttons on a screen. PERFECT!
Very helpful when practicing sight reading, I use it with my digital piano and it works well
Instead of notes I see '&=C=! And this is not C to play. C is changing of course to for example '&=G=! (after a good answer).
Great app. Please add option to remove time limit or set custom time limit.
I love this app! It's been a tremendous help. Some suggestions for further improvement: custom time settings, learning mode with no timer, statistics that identify weak points, such as hit/miss ratios for each note. And I don't know if it's just me, but on beginner level, the F note is severely underrepresented compared to the other four. Thank you for releasing this free, and with minimum(and, as far as I can tell, even optional) ads!
