Sight Words (Free)

"Sight words" are words that can not be sounded out or learned through the use of pictures and have to be learned by sight. The original Dolch Word list (named after Edward Dolch, PhD) contains 220 words that have to be easily recognizing to achieve fluency in the English language. The list later included 95 nouns.
The Dolch sight words are helpful for adults learning English as an additional language (ESL) as well as for children.

This app has all 220 sight words plus the nouns in a flash card setting.

Features included:
• Words can be marked to the Review list (use the star to mark and menu to clear list)
• The word is read out when the card is touched
• Long press buttons to jump to start or end

Paid ad-free version also available.

Pretty good app. Contains a lot of sight words. You can choose words to work on (review list). Would be easier/better if there was a full list of words to choose from.

I like the app as a teacher and parent it makes both the teaching and learning process easy. To hear each sight word tap both the speaker sign and the sight word

Great talkback screen reader accessibility. This app works with talkback. I am blind and i can now help my small child to read thanks to this app. The words are spoken when i tapped. Thankyou for making your app accessible to everyone. I will purchase the pro version as a thankyou

An excellent app, but I think there should be an audio to the words so that the children can work independently.

My youngest child is 8 years old and has Down syndrome. He is entering 2nd grade and is not up to grade level. This is the kind of app I was looking for. I can "star" the words I want him to work on & it stores it in the review. When he's stuck you can press the word and it reads it. HOW FANTASTIC! This app works well on my phone now how well will it work on his tablet? For now I'm so STOKED! Thank you!!! I'll be sharing this with other DS (Down syndrome) friends. Yay, YAY, YAY!!!

We home school our daughter with delays and this app is a great compliment especially when we need to take out school on the road with frequent Dr appointments etc. Thanks for creating this app!

Excellent!! My four year old loves this "game". This is the first time I have bothered to rate and app. This one is well worth it. Thank you for your hard work. It's much appreciated.

This app is both fun and educational! My five year son absolutely loves this app. He is very un-focused on anything and we were struggling so hard to get him to engaged in learning. But that wasn't the case with this Sight Words game which can amazingly catch his interest. Def recommended!

free & decent app. so if you can tolerate just some ads, this is an excellent piece of learning material for little kids leaning to read. It's easy to use and learn, no hassle at all. WELL FIT TO THE KIDS.

children are very smart. they don’t always believe they can complete a task just because we tell them they can. Practicing with this app, my child sees that she recognizes more than half of the words on the page, then she has the confidence to attempt to read it.

i have been hopping from app to app, just to find a good educational app for my toddler. and this is it, exactly what i'm looking for. A good app with a lot of words to build up language fluency. Very effective list!

The review mode still crashes. At first, it was only after about the 20th word, but now it crashes on the 3rd. It gets irritating when we want to go over the more difficult ones. I love that you can create your own list. Please check this out. I use an android galaxy s5.

my kids love this app very much. I say 3 star but he says 5, so I guess you guys get 5 stars :). It seems to be quite simple, but a very effective way to help small kids learn the words
