Sign ASL

Right out of the gate and my initial impression? Awesome. I've used a lot of different apps and had connectivity issues and issues with the search engines. I've only used this one briefly but so far my experience has been awesome. I'm just now getting back into sign language after having been fluent when I was a kid. Having not signed for a lot of years my receptive language is poor. It comes back quickly but something like this is essential when you want to look something up fast and accurate.

It's okay. Some of the videos are very small and hard to see. Others are not. The real problem for me is that the signs are performed SO FAST that I have to keep replaying the videos to catch the nuances. Very frustrating. It would be so much better if the signer would perform the sign once, and then do it again in slow motion. And why do most of the signers look so angry all the time? Just sayin'... I won't go into the search glitch because it's been covered by so many others. Needs an update!

This far it's the best free asl learning/vocabulary app I've used. Gives multiple sign possibilities for each word. Allows access to broad pool of words and phrases. Doesn't have a flurry of pop up ads to sift through when trying to study despite being free which is a pleasant surprise. No app is without flaws but if I take time out of my day to show love/support for one, it's gotta be pretty darn good lol.

I've downloaded several ASL dictionaries and this is the best one by far. There's no fees, no ads and it shows several videos for a word. I'm an Intermediate Sign Language Aide and I use this app all the time thank you!

This app is great! However, it does need an update and some bug fixes. For instance: every time I go to search for a new word after just searching, it won't bring up the keyboard, and I have to re-open the app in order to search for a new sign. I don't know if I'm the only one with this problem, but it would be wonderful if you can fix it.

Love the app. Thank you so much for developing this app. If I could save my searches, it would've been super. Also, if the words were grouped under categories such as colors, animals, etc., it would be perfect.

I love this ASL dictionary. I would give it 5 stars if only it had my search history. Instead, the home page shows what OTHERS have searched, which does not serve me. In order to learn, I frequently have to search over again MY words I need to re-practice. But it's still my favorite ASL app; I find what I want to say, and see all the various way to express it.

I love how simple it is and the fact that there are verieties of demostations instead of just 1 person which makes me feel more confadent as I continue to practice! Lifeprint is also an amazing wesite that tells you more about the sigh your looking for and comparing it to other sighs that might be commonly confused. This app and Lifeprint have been the greatest reasorces ive ever used for learning ASL so thank you for making my life easier!

I haven't had a good experience I can't use the search engine, I can only use the main page of what everyone else searched. It is quite frustrating. I don't know if anyone else had this problem or if it's just my electronic, so i'm going to give this one star and hopefully I can find the specific words I need on youtube or google.

I had my first deaf driving student and wanted to learn a little ASL. This app has been great, except that some of the signs are done too quickly, and I have to watch them over and over until I can see exactly what they are doing. Include a "slow-motion" feature and you get 5 stars!

Cons: I have to tap the ... at the top right to bring up my keyboard after searching a word. Pros: The best ASL dictionary app I've tried so far! I love that it gives you multiple signs for one word!

Definitions of words are mixed up with the wrong signs. IE: for "office", it gives a wrong definition for the word, and shows one correct sign and a bunch of signs that are completely wrong. I noticed this for a lot of words. If you know ASL already, this app is great and you will be able to tell which signs are wrong. If you dont know ASL, this app may teach you wrong signs. And it may teach you wrong signs based on context, since it doesnt give a specific definition for EACH signed video.

I like the fact that you get a list of signs to choose from. That way you get all the possible meanings of each word. This would be an amazing app if it gave you a list of what you look up, not what others have.

it is a great app but I would love if it had like suggestions and like a main menu with a whole bunch of word and if we dont find a word on the main menu then we can like search it up but other than that it is a great app it had helped me a lot with ASL

This app is amazing! Just one thing: does it work offline? **EDIT**: It's so sad you can't download them! I still have 350 gigs. maybe for your next update you could add the function to show which sign is about to download and the user can stop when they want to?

Very good, as a beginner learning sign language i can look up words etc as often as I want and it makes learning easy and fun.

You have to keep reloading the app for different individual words and it does not do sentences. Just for hi how are you it doesn't come up with anything. I am 95% deaf and need to teach my family asl just to communicate.

I use this app so much. The best part is having multiple sources and comparing the definitions. A huge resource and time saver!

It has an extensive dictionary, but that's all it is. This is an app simply meant to look up a word. You cannot learn ASL from it, because there is a lot of basic grammar and things that can't be learned from this app.

I'm learning a lot about signing. if i had to complain about this app, it would be sometimes its slow to pop up the keyboard for typing in your word.

I love this app you can find any word and see the sign for it. I have installed and uninstalled several apps before this one, this one I'll keep.

It is really good, you can find most words and how to sign them. Hardly any adds.

Like that I can search, but have been trying to use app since yesterday and it has crashed everytime I open it. Have not been able to use it.

Phone crashed first time I tried to open app. Uninstalled immediately after phone rebooted. Might try again after next update.

Rough, but. They had lots of signers doing somef tje smallest moves with hands and fingers differntly.

east to search and video plays over and over. wish the hands would he a little closer at times. great app!!

Hard to navigate. You have to back out to look for another word. I need more help, just learning.

I really like that there are several videos that demonstrate how to make the signs. Great udea!!
