Signal Sniffer - Fitbit finder

Signal Sniffer is a small app that turns your smartphone into a mobile Bluetooth and WiFi scanner. Not only will it list all the devices in the vicinity, but it will also show you how far away from you they are.
Use your mobile phone as a Bluetooth or WiFi locator, find your friends or ruin someone's game of hide-and-go-seek.

Used two other fitbit finder apps and couldn't locate my device. Used this one and found it with a minute. Easy to see when the signal gets stronger/weaker to pinpoint where it is. Strap had broken and was attached to the collar of a t shirt in the wardrobe!! Thanks
Downloaded it tried to open the app. it kept closing. Uninstalled right away
At it's highest, I walked through house. Returned to couch to try again. Then it returned to the higher #, duh, I was sitting on it, under sofa cushion! Thank you!

IT FAILED TO MEASURE
Fantastic app. My kids had tidied up and moved my fitbit but then it disappeared. It was only that i got a low battery notification that i realised it was in the house. I tried many different ones, all required an in app purchase. Tried this one and was really pleased. I had to turn off the Wi-Fi signal detection and it took a while to pick up the signal but im now back to aiming for 10k steps a day. Highly recommended.
I have to go into my phone settings & manually set my Bluetooth to scan for devices each time before the app works. Need a setting or button to start & keep scanning going into not needed. Hearing beeps definitely helps but does not update as I move closer or farther without restarting the process (restart scanning, but app Start button, find device, & select it). Very cumbersome.
Works well for finding the device. But few issues While the Bluetooth scan and search is being performed, your phone screen should stay awake. Otherwise it will stop scanning. Whenever ever opened, you phones touch settings are being overwritten. I keep my sound of touch and vibrate on touch disabled. But when ever i open this app they will be back on. Looks like this doesn't honor the host settings. This app seems to be not working on the first go after installation. I had to close it and reopen every time i installed it.
It's a work in progress. Screen rotation wipes out the list on Samsung S5, and no option to sort list from nearest device to furthest. Devices are removed if they don't have much traffic or the list is too large (apartment). Images in play store show a menu, but I don't see how to access the menu. The screen is also super bright.
Discovered my Fitbit was missing in the evening, thought I had lost it for good. Saw a reference to using apps to locate it on the Fitbit site and tried Bluetooth finder and then this one -- which worked. Really appreciate the ability to select a single device to hunt for, and the sound queues that help guide you to the device.
Downloaded 3 other apps. This is the only one that found my fitbit caught on a towel, tucked away in the linen closet. Had to take my time to allow the signal to stabilize, can't move quickly. Slow, methodical, process of elimination. Would help to equate signal strength with distance (i.e. 6 inches away registers at approx -.60 dbm
This app completely failed to find my Fitbit one. It finds every WiFi signal in the area but useless for its intended purpose. If I hold the app in one hand and the Fitbit in the other the app still cannot locate it. Do not recommend.
I'd had a BT app & it was finding my One so I knew it was in the house but the signal was just not enough to actually locate it after looking for 2 days. So, downloaded THIS app & found it in about 10 minutes. The signal was far more accurate & precise. The display was much easier to read. And the beeping! That's awesome! And the frequency of beeps increases relative to proximity. Highly recommend!!!!! Stellar app!
You are still limited by how fast Bluetooth updates. For instance a Fitbit does not update that often, but but if you're patient you can find it. It took me about 10 minutes but I found mine. I would not have found it otherwise.

My wife just bought me a fitbit and it fell off. I checked everywhere and could not find it. I loaded this app from inside a building. My fitbit was in my van. It picked up the signal. As I began to walk around I noticed when it lost the signal and when it found it. That led me outside. I figured it might be in the van. When I opened the door it started beeping. It beeped faster as I got closer like a metal detector. Ended up being in between the driver and passenger seat under papers. Amazing app!
I thought I lost my Fitbit for about 4 days, been using other apps and this one was the easiest. As you get closer the beep becomes faster and the bar becomes green. Had no idea my Fitbit was in the closest clipped with some pants I thought I didn't wear. Awesome!
Walked all over the house and stood right next to my fitbit and it still didnt get a strong signal.... luckily i found it with my own 2 eyes...
I tried 3 and this is the only one that helped me find it. To bad I can't give more stars. I have galaxy s 5 active.
When searching for your device point the top of your phone in the direction you want to search. As long as it's picking up a signal, slowly rotate yourself and your phone it different directions. The beeping will get faster the closer you come to your device. Note: THE LARGER THE NUMBER, THE FURTHER AWAY YOU ARE! I nearly lost my mind trying to find my device thinking the higher the number, the hotter I was getting. Yes, I'm blonde. The signal will go from red, yellow to green as you get closer.
my fitbit pebble fell out of my wrist band while mowing the grass. after visually searching the yard for about an hour and not finding it i downloaded this APP and it found the fitbit within 10 minutes of using. 100% recommend this APP to anybody in the same situation.
PREVIOUSLY: I assume being halfway green that it's nearby but it's leading me outside then loses the signal and I'm on 4G. Maybe I'm doing something incorrectly or getting a false positive signal....UPDATE: I'm an idiot, it worked perfectly, fitbit was clipped to my jacket but I kept searching the pockets.
I love the sound that goes along with the signal strength! I found my Charge HR in a dark spot in my pantry, behind some canned goods. I would have NEVER looked here for my fitbit. I must have been too caught up in cooking and cleaning for NYE! I wish I would have tried this app first. The others that I tried just made me tear up my house. Guess I can get some exercise while cleaning up? Heh.
My Fitbit was lost for 2 days in my closet and for the life of me I could not find it. I knew it was in there because my phone would sink to the Fitbit app anytime I got close. A friend recommended this app to find my Fitbit. Once I downloaded the app it took off. It was so fun hunting down my Fitbit. It was actually in the garage which is below my closet. This app works as advertised.
I tried to use and it just gave me a ad on the screen and it never went away. Recommend Bluetooth finder
Great for finding wifi but not my fitbit one. Found it by syncing to it still and adding an alarm to find it. Even with tje fitbit next to the phone the app couldn't find it. Simple use though
This App can be very helpful in discovering the best place and position to achieve the best service from your WiFi router or repeater for reasons that require more space than I have available here. I would have it rated 5 stars if there was an option to log results to a tab-delimited text file so that previous readings could be compared as changes are made to discover best results. Nevertheless being able to see signal strength and MAC addresses can be very helpful solving problems. Great App.
