Why limit public access to sign language? There's such a demand for learning sign, so it sounds like selfishness to require payment for learning such a helpful language. The website simply will not load on my mobile device at the speed I need it, so this app would be one of the quickest, and best ways to access signing savvy granted I wouldn't need a paid membership. Will we ever see accessibility, or will this always be a paid app?
Love Sign Savvy; new word everyday, a search for any word or phrase, create and share your own word lists and the ASL gloss examples are great. Tiny video demos the word(s), plus a text description of the sign(s) and mnemonic if applicable.
Limiting access to nonpaying users is very unfortunate. It makes even less sense when the app has less usability than the website for the same type of "membership". I get the need to pay bills, but this seems counterproductive in connecting the deaf community with those who wish to reduce communication barriers.
I'm not sure how this app gets anything other than it's well deserved 5 stars. These people put a tremendous amount of work and effort into this app to teach people this amazing Language and they did a hell of a job. 10 thumbs up if I could. It's AWESOME
This app is great for every level of signer. You can save lists and quiz yourself. They have a good list of phrases. Being a member is worth it-I use this app every day. Thank you.
Some of the signs on here need to be updated a professional sign language interpreter told me that I was signing it wrong please update or upgrade this app make sure they sign it the right way
I was able to look up words easier before I became a member. After paying I cannot type in a word that I need to find the sign for.
As of right now this is the best review that this app will get from me im not gonna pay for this app when I can get a different one that I don't have to pay for. If your not a member all you get is the word of the day
I didn't know I had to be a member to use this app. couldn't even see a way to create an account once I figured that out, so I uninstalled it.
1. Why I can't be a member of this 2. I set up my password and It will not let use password I want to learn more ASL on this app
I was recommended this app, but it seems you need to be a member. I don't even see how to join anywhere.
Want to learn about sign language
as provisionally by signing savvy
Still the best vocabulary ASL app, worthy of paid membership, been using this for years. Thank you!!
Thank you!
Detailed daily free asl sign with explanation of how to remember and use hands. Don't log in on the app, if you're just a registered guest on their website, as it'll not let you see the sign of the day. I recommend the site, joining for free as a member and get more free signs daily!
App doesn't explain how or where to go to become a member. Googled it only to find out it is very costly. :( Lots of really good free aps out there.
App keeps momentarily freezing. But I otherwise LOVE practicing with this app. I'm surprised with how fast I'm learning. I enjoy creating my own flash cards, finding other peoples' shared lists, and quizzing myself.
No longer shows the sign of the day, just a blank screen.
I have been a paying member going on 5 years now.... ABSOLUTELY THE BEST RESOURCE FOR SOMEONE WANTING TO SIGN!!!!
I wan register member login but can't open unblock to me. Thanks
Use this everyday
I do like the additional features but opening the app takes too much time with the logo and log in pages. Get rid of that so it goes automaticallyy to the dictionary and it wil have 5 stars. This is my go to app as a sign language teacher when I'm stuck on a sign
I liked Signing Savvy before but now with the recent update, I love it! The videos are clearer, you can see the sign being used in a sentence (which is adding to my vocabulary), and I like that I can actually see if this sign can be something else as well. Thank you for this.
Works well now, especially since the last update. Less random log outs, no crashes. It could use a UI better for tablets, but it views well on phones. The UI is still a bit slow, so minus a star for that. I really wish people would stop rating it one star because its for members. It clearly states this in the description.
This app will give you 1 free sign a day, the membership is 10 dollars a month. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS APP, MUCH BETTER COMPANIES OUT THERE THAT WANT YOU TO LEARN A NEW METHOD OF COMMUNICATION FOR FREE.
It crashes/freezes occasionally but not too bad. My only complaints is when doing the flashcards. If do meaning 1st, the video shows at a little bit at the bottom, so if the sign is low gives it away. Also, will display the word only but but the "as in...." part which displays on the computer version.
I really like this app. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the app doesn't like to change words everyday and it forces me to uninstall and reinstall. Also they should do a refresher once a week cuz there is no way to go back and study what you have learned
I paid for other apps that still won't work on my sam galaxy s3. They don't have the same features that this one does. I love that it shows variations of words with same spelling different definition and concepts. I appreciate that also states if sign is an asl or english sign, I can type a phrase and get a sign or signs that fit the concept of phrase, uses the word in a sentence and shares other words that use the same sign. With this app I am now able to study anywhere.
I value the quality content, but struggle to make out the details of the (tiny) signs displayed on my Samsung s9 screen. It would be helpful if I could zoom in or make the example videos full screen.
