Works perfectly on a Samsung A52 5G. Thank you for this app! Why can't this option be built in from the factory? It's a no-brainer because there is no need to wake-up/disturb everyone around you when you power your phone on..."HEY! Look at me, I'm an asshat", is not what I need.
Been using this for years. Does exactly what it says. I use another app to mute sounds in particular situations, but this is the only app that mutes startup. I now have a Samsung Note 9 and the phone said the app may not work with my phone and may need updated. But it's working just fine. Phone just upgraded to Android 9 and it still works.
Effective and unobtrusive. Great on Android Jelly Bean. Version 2.3 still works *almost* perfectly on my current Android Pie device. When doing a standard reboot, I usually hear a fraction of a second of the shutdown jingle but that's it. Not bad for an app that Google says no longer supports my current device! I enabled permissions (Do Not Disturb, and change system settings), turned off Android sleep/battery optimization, and checked the first box in the app settings (to enable Silent Boot).
Nice idea. It only works on Android 7 if you enable quickboot. Quickboot only works when the phone is off for short periods and so overnight, despite having this app, the startup jingle is still full volume. Looks like rooting the phone is the only answer...sigh. Shame this app is needed at all really. You used to have full volume control until Google took over. Good idea though :)
Finally! Goodbye dreadful AT&T startup boot sound! This app successfully muted my S9 device, before it finished shutting down. The newer AT&T bootup sound is unreasonably loud. After installing this app, I purposely turned up all my volume settings (media, system, notification, and ringtone) to maximum, then rebooted my device. Guess what, it silenced it! Wow. Also, after powering on my device, any previous volume settings restored to what they were before I turned off my device. Amazing!
Have loved this app and it's done what it claims to do. But with work enforcing encryption on phone if want mail client connecting to O365 it's now unable to work. Believe phone loads bootstrap (1st boot sound) then proceeds to load full kernel (2nd boot sound). So no longer silent boot, and getting two annoying jingles. :-(
Fantastic app. Can confirm this works on HTC U11 using Oreo. I've been having to reboot in safe mode due to a WiFi issue, and it is of course disabled then - but when I restarted normally, the sound was gone! Thank you very much.
New update turns notification off and you won't get any notifications until you turn them on manually after reboot. Dev, please fix and update or revert back to the last version that worked perfectly and turned notifications on after suppressing the start up tone on our phones.

It worked (muted sound) when shutting down only, but when started up, it restored sound too early. Sound should be restored "after" starting up completely, not "before" starting up.
This was working great on my Huawei p20 pro, until recent system update. Now not working even in extended mode. 5 stars when working. This app hasn't been updated since 2015,so only getting 1 star now. App no longer useful. uninstalled
It doesn"t silence anything. Boot up is as loud as ever.
Works Great! Mutes my S8 with Droid 9.0 during startup and shutdown. Does make a small ker-plunk noise when it Un-Mutes on startup. ByeBye T-Mobil's really loud and annoying jingle.
Wonderful app for years, wish Anton would update as it finally became useless with my newest phone, samsung 10e. Missing it everyday, I hate that start up noise!
It works when I boot up my phone. But now it doesn't auto unmute itself. it is always end up in mute and I have to press button to unmute My Galaxy S9 from T-Mobile.
Finally some way of turning off the annoying start up sounds. Even if you turn your phone off with the volume at full, Silent Boot will still silence the startup jingles.
Works brilliantly on my Samsung s6. No stupid noise on start-up. Some times leaves phone in silent mode but can live with that.
Been using this for years does exactly what it says glad to get rid of the annoying AT&T start up sound.
Works fine on my old Samsung S5 phone. Makes a little bleep sound after it boots up to let you know the sound is back on. Hate that AT&T Dong Ding Dong boot up noise!
Brilliant app. The Nokia startup sound was really getting on my wick, this app sorted it. ..... Update, Doesn't work with Android 9. (pie)
Works well before latest update. Now it seems broken (Android 7). Update: Start working again after latest update (missing do not disturb permission)
Appears to be fairly old and may not be in current development. Did not work in regular "Silent Boot" or Extended Mode on a Moto G6 play running Android 9.0
great to useless overnight. Android 9 update broke it and it appears the developer can't be bothered to update it. now uninstalled
Doesn't work on RVVL2 with T-Mobile sound. Poop! Tried all variations of checkboxes too.
Latest version (3.2) fixed previous issue of the app not silencing startup sound on my phone. Back to 5 stars.
I've had this app installed for all 3 smartphones I've owned starting with Note 3. It's a "must have". And I was thrilled to see this was updated in 2022 with the simpler user interface. Thank you!
