Spent quite a while looking for a replacement to TV Show Favs (RIP), and this is the one. It's not *quite* up there, but it's pretty close. Importing the shows I was watching was a breeze, since this is the only app that'll actually mark a new show watched up to today, instead of all known episodes including upcoming ones. UI is simple and intuitive. Much better than the mess that is Flixi. TV Time was spamming notifications and even battery warnings from the start. None of that here, at least so far. Only minor downsides: No widget, and need to pay to make my profile private.
It is very very good for a free app. But I think it can be better. I watched a lot of movies, so i hope there are a simply button (like watched) to press, not going into each movie and press watched and out again. it would be good to add custom list and related movie feature, but also scare it will slow down the system.
This is a fast app with an unusual but cool UI that's missing one very important thing: displaying my rating. This is absolutely paramount. The reason I have a Simkl account is first and foremost so I can show my list to friends. It is next to useless without my subjective opinion next to it. With this simple change my estimation would easily jump to 4/5 stars but for now it's a huge omission that I cannot overlook. Edit: Thanks for your reply. I am aware but unfortunately the site doesn't fit.
Absolutely great app and website, helps me remember when the shows and movies I love are screening or have been released. The only thing I could ask for (at this stage 😅) would be the calendar showing all my likes, tv shows, anime and movies, and when they are on, in the one place.
Excellent. Can't believe the features packed into this! It's even got me considering a complete switch from Trakt. Only issue is being able to sort lists by episodes left to watch of a series. Once it has that I'll be using it exclusively.
It took a minute to learn how to navigate the app but its fairly simple once you figure it out. Also you have to search every title just about in Japanese. I watch both subs and dubs but personally I prefer dubs if there available. If the search had an option to go through a subs and dubs list this app would hands down be a 5 star app
Honestly I really like this app. Helps me manage my movies and anime and I think it does a really great job at it. Sometimes it gets a little slow but thats ok, I mean what app doesn't? And I have it connected to another app of mines called "Anime Glare" and it does a great job marking episodes on "seen" right after I'm done watching it. Overall I really really enjoy this app.
This app is very good but it's missing a key feature for me. The app lets you sort *films* by rank. This is fantastic. Now TV shows do have a ranking which is good however you cannot sort TV shows by their ranking, this is a major flaw for me. If this is doable on the mobile app please let me know and I shall change this to a 5 star review. Developer response: - I want to be able to do this on the app ❤️ - This would be a good feature to add to the app ❤️
Using the app for about 6 months. It would be absolutely amazing if you can add all the functions that are available on the webside inside the app, instead of forwarding to an external browser. Nevertheless, great app.
This app has A LOT of potential. I have letterboxd and MyAnimeList, and I was looking for a TV tracker when this was suggested to combine all 3. Awesome! However, I would only ever consider switching over if the movie section allowed reviews. It'd be cool if the anime section did too since that's a feature I wish MAL had. Also, I found that some ratings from letterboxd did not transfer properly (ex: a movie rated 3/5 was translated as 4/10 when it should actually be 6/10). Great idea though!
After a comparison between trakt and simkl I've decided to go with simkl for its syncing and ease-of-use features. But I can't find a way to add comments using the app, I have to go to the website? I did read through the feature request site to see if it's in development, and it *seemed* to be a completed feature, yet I still can't find it. I would increase my rating to a 5 for this feature. Otherwise this is a great app. Thank you! (Due to quick feedback from developer, I changed rating to 5.)
The best I really like simple UI , hope there an option that let you configure everything like the web-based version - EDIT i know this can't be done so fast it will take some time , totally understand this but i want it the app to be web-based replacement or i can do most of the work from it ** 1 **ability to add new ( tv or anime or movie ) and sort new by something other then trending for ex : --Genres --BEST SHOW --RANK --People watched --in theaters --coming soon --today ** 2 ** the ability to configure user info ( profile ) ex: Name bio password email ** 3 ** the ability to configure notification Settings enable or disable -- Email notification -- Computer notification and customize when i get notification , like the web-based version ** 4 ** Radio ? maybe ? , i know its old but i like to use it
The simkl is so good we can import titles from mal, anilist and IMDb which is not present in trakt or tvtime ,the website is great but when it comes to app it doesn't have all the capabilities of the website It would be really great if you can make app better and give us a update soon
Great experience so far. No need to have separate apps for anime and drama. Wish that there was an option it can check the episode I'm streaming and mark it as watched. That would be a plus. But nevertheless so far I'm enjoying it.
Really great app for organizing what you have watched. Wish it had an option to organize by grid view though. When you have cracked up enough shows , scrolling takes a while
This is a really great app, but having troubles getting notified for shows that are airing or about to air. And when new episodes air of a certain show, it doesnt pop up in my watching list, or any of my lista to be exact. It's very frustrating and depressing. Please fix this. Edit: it was fixed. Rating 5 stars!
