So far so good. I'll be trying this to calibrate clockworks. I believe people's issue is misunderstanding sound and rates. End calculations do jump around, although with a long term pattern. Meaning it can probably be filtered out in the settings. Take time to learn something before leaving rude comments.
It's simple and detects the BPM of a sound. Well, sometimes it doesnt really seem to work with some music, but its frankly amazing that it does work at all. I've worked with audio and I know how technically difficult it is to make an app like this, and to actually have it work at all.
Changes broke the app. Readout is usually blank. When I do get a number it's wildly inaccurate. Edit: I was listening to a song with perfect tempo. I even tapped along to the beat in front of the mic. A 119BPM song gave readouts at 51 and over 200, nothing in the 100 range, and most of the time no BPM was given.
Didn't one used to be able to "tap" the screen when measuring to "help"? Loved that! Just out on som garage (I'm a house freak, so garage is rear. And the app is WAY off! Not necessarily surprised. Garage, two-step and such isn't easy conting the bpm on. THAT was when I noticed that the app no longer responded to me trying to give it indication of the beat. Do I remember that wrong? Cause THAT feature, is way the app have been on my phone's for years! But if that's no longer there...
First time using the app and under environment with other interference. I knew the BPM, mostly piano chords and was very surprised of accuracy. Apps that are popular cannot live up to this. I have not tried other apps similar to this one but this is my go to app for BPM. The 3 readings were all basically slow or fast tempo but bang on accurate. I'm using XiaoMi mobile device.
Only one problem... Where is the paid-for version? I don't care if it's the same free app with a price tag; you need paying for this level of excellence! (BTW the DnB syncopated third is being measured at half tempo, which also throws Serato, so I consider it accurate!)
Setting up the beat for Antique Clocks! Just hold the phone to the clock and you'll get a bpm value and a visual trace that'll aid in beat setting and regulating. Simply adjust the level of your clock to equally space the trace pulse to set beat. Adjust bob to correct bpm for your clock and you're done. In my opinion. Try it. Thanks for the app.
Works well with clean audio input pulses and counts fairly accurately. Needs better or customizable input filtering for dirtier or complex pulses. Counts become less accurate.
What the hell happened to this app? Where is my graph? Why is this whacky speedometer in the middle? App was perfectly functional beforehand. Design update massively reduced functionality. This app went from "simple" to "gimmicky". Please restore the v1.12 frequency graph.
App works great, good job. I'd like to see an additional function. A metronome to count in a song at the right tempo, then switch to existing beat detection function once music starts. Thanks.
Works perfectly in detecting the accurate bpm for music through the phones microphone. No idea why this app has 3.6 stars, it should be at minimum 4 as it gets the job done.
Nice accurate detector. Not sure why you got rid of the previous format with the graphs. That was way better. Would give that one 5 stars.
Simple and perfect... With a fluffy dog! Would have been five stars anyway, but the addition of a fluffy dog would make it 6 stars if possible! Seems very accurate and a really handy free tool - thanks to the dev
I'm a watch enthusiast. This app is perfect for measuring bpm on old watches and pocket watches! This is important for regulating the beat and therefore accurate time.
Simple and nice. But no setting allowed for 2 or more clicks per beat. So I have to calculate the tempo manually.
solid free app. has trouble picking up the beat from live acoustic music, but does much better with drums & electric bass.
Beatiful app. For techno music misses bpm by a few decimals (~0.3). Actually uses the microphone instead of tapping. 10/10 would recommend
There app has potential. Gives me workable figures 99% of the time. It's sometimes off by a beat or so. Bro please stop listening to all the people who criticize you out of pure ignorance. Even pioneer DJ cdjs sometimes get the bpm wrong. The app works fine for a person who knows what they want.
Probably works well for playing music into your mic, no way to simply load an MP3 in it and have it analyse it for you. Not what I need.
Used to be great, simple & accurate. Now it looks like a game, doesn't work & just returns 3 high numbers all the same. Tried it for 2 weeks but giving up now. ðŸ˜
I use this for calculating delay times when mixing. Works great. Soloing the drums does the trick avoiding false triggers. Nice work.
Bad expirience, dear developer, we need simpler tool to count variable rpm on the fly, i will try to mess with settings, but what you need is measure how many times VOLUME LEVEL is bigger than some treshhold if silence and print how many on fly. Please make second app or open source it.
Got this to help me categorise my vinyls by BPM and have to say so far so good! Sometimes it struggles to get an accurate reading if the drum kick is not very distinctive and there is lots of hi-hat, so I just mute the music and tap on the mic in time with the beat and get the reading that way. Very impressed with the minimal battery drain also, had it on for about an hour and expected battery to be much lower than it was, so great work!
