Simple Calorie Counter

Source: https://github.com/doubleblacksoftware/simple-calorie-counter
The Simple Calorie Counter is a simple, but effective way to track the calories you eat and drink throughout the day. If you need a simple counter without all the fluff, advertising, and Facebook integration, try this app.

To use, first open settings and set your daily calorie goal. You can also set whether this goal is a minimum goal or a maximum limit. Then, simply enter the name of the food or drink and the number of calories associated with it. The Simple Calorie Counter will keep track of it for you, and remember your items for easy input later.

There's also a simple widget that displays the number of calories you have left for the day before you reach your limit (or goal).

It doesn't get much simpler than that!

Very cute, compact, and readable, no gimmicks or clutter. Allows the user to create their own customised list of foods rather than trying to navigate a limited database. Would give 10 stars if I could :) EDIT: Please be upfront about only being able to view 3 months of records in app. My reason for downloading was easy access to readable long-term daily records. Thankfully the full history still shows in the exported CSV, because I now have 5 months of records to manually enter into a new app.

It is what it says on the tin. It's a simple calorie counter. You have to do the math yourself and input the number of calories manually. It's basically a food journal. The interface is very simple to use. You can scroll from one day to the next or to edit or delete or your entry. The app remembers previous foods that you have added so you can input them automatically. I really struggled to use apps like MyFitnessPal. I kept forgetting how to use it. I have lost 7lbs so far with this.

The simplest calorie counter. No ads. No chuffa. Doesn't micro-manage your exercise or calories, though you can add in exercise if you wanted as a negative value. You need to look up the calories at first, but previous entries are saved so it gets easier, especially if you eat the same meals. You can set a calorie goal as a minimum or maximum.

Excellent app. Its really basic and does what its supposed to do. It remembers what youve entered on previous days, so you dont have to re-enter everything each time (it has predictive text). You can check your previous days just by swiping the page to the right. it allows you to set a calories target and shows you how close you are to it at the top of the page And it also provides a graph, so you can see how consistant you have been. To the developers of the app Well done its definitely 5 star

I'm underweight and just wanted a quick and simple way of making sure I'm getting enough calories in my day- no diet plan or food search or anything complicated like that. This app is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Clean, easy to use, and has a convenient calculator when you're putting calories in. It takes seconds for me to use. Very grateful!

Use this every day as a simple way of adding up my calorie intake. App remembers everything you enter which saves time if you eat similar items and amounts over the days, weeks and months. Downside is that if you enter something incorrectly and edit it then BOTH entries stay in the drop-down list. Not yet been able to work out whether the incorrect entry can be deleted from the list!! Still does exactly what I want.

Very straightforward and simple to use. No BS info to fill in first and get confused with all the different info they ask and numerous pages to browse. Just enter calories what you eat and check at the end of the day how many calories you ate. Simple. The only issue is the name of this app. It says calculator only. Should have changed to Calories Calculator.

Exactly what I was looking for. This app has all of the features I wanted and none of the features I didn't want. It has no intrusive ads and no internet connection / account is required for it to work. It remembers items you've previously entered so while you don't have the database of items other people have entered (that are usually wrong) you can build up your own database of items.

One of the best apps I've used. Simple! You put in the calories manually but its easy find the calories for anything online. What I like most is that you put in your target calories and the widget tells you how many you have left. The widget also takes you to the app when you press it. Beautiful simple design.

Beautiful in its simplicity. Items you entered previously are subsequently available for selection. You can even create items with combinations of other items that you can then selection as one item. For instance, instead of having to enter all the items in a sandwich separately, you can create the item 'My Sandwich', enter it's total calories and it will be available after that.

YES. THANK YOU. Sweet simplicity wrapped in an uncluttered, foolproof UI. I can add, edit, delete, switch days, export my data and even add a widget which is just a line of plain text that tells me how many calories I have left because that's all it needs to be. Beautiful.

Best calorie counting app I've found and I've tried at least a dozen. Simple and easy to use. Weirdly the only thing I wish was different is the font size - a little smaller would be nice as my entries often take up multiple lines. But the app is fantastic. Highly recommend.

This is it. It's everything I wanted: just a simple calorie tally. It automatically adds your total each time you add a food item. It saves each day. The app said it may not work with my newer phone, but it works fine. For some reason it's harder than you then you think to find a simple calorie counter .

I love this calorie counter so much!!! I only wish that you could add food by the touching the text field at the top in addition to the plus sign button at the bottom. It's probably a problem with me and not the app but I always tap the text field by mistake so I wish you could add food either way.

It's a pretty good app. I like its simplicity and I use it along with MFP to understand my calorie numbers better. I would suggest they add something to also tell you how many you have remaining in the app itself, rather than a widget. Other than that it's a pretty solid app. I also like that you can set any calorie limit you want, unlike most apps that stop you from going lower at 1200

Excellent. It counts your calorie intake, and it remembers foods from previous entries so you don't have to keep on typing them in each day. It also has a calorie target option and a graph to check your progress/eating pattern.

Perfect for my needs. I just enter the calorie number followed by the number. For instance, a Healthy Choice Rice Bowl might be 270 calories. I just enter 270 for the food name followed by 270 for the calories. Next time I want to record 270 calories, I just enter 270 and it pops right up. No need to look up what type of rice bowl. Like I said, it works perfectly for my needs. The graph is useful as well as it shows my calorie trend. This app is helping me to lose weight.

Perfect app! It is simple and that is why I like it. You manually add the food description and calories and it provides a graph as well. That's all there is to it. I don't need anything else . Other apps have too much going on that I will never use.
