Simple Camera

The camera is usable for both photo taking and video recording. You can switch between front and rear camera, modify the save path, limit the resolution. The flash can be turned on and off, used as a flashlight. You can pinch to zoom in.
If you want to launch this app at pressing the hardware camera button, you might have to disable the built in Camera app in Settings -> Apps -> Camera -> Disable.

Contains no ads or unnecessary permissions. It is fully opensource, provides a Dark theme too.

This app is just one piece of a bigger series of apps. You can find the rest of them at http://www.simplemobiletools.com

Great camera! No ads, clean interface and super easy to use. I've only detected one major bug: 1. When I go to take a photo (eg press the button) the button disappears and the camera fails to take the shot. If you could fix it, that would be amazing and much appreciated!

Very lightweight and simple camera but just for very basic requirements as it comes without even elementary features such as exposure or focus control. If you need a simple point-and-shoot camera then and now and don't even bother thinking about doing anything else, you're fine here, anyone else should rather look at OpenCamera.

This has GOT TO BE the best camera app in the Play Store. It's just like it's name says -- SIMPLE. No unnecessary garbage, like excessive settings that I don't need and can't use. Once I opened it, it had a similar layout and control adjustments like other camera apps. I get the idea they took the idea from you. Great work on a great app. Bravo!

My second 5 star review. I go to this camera 90% of the time. I love how this lights up the view before taking photo, when flash is set to ON.. This helps me so much when taking photos for eBay. So many times the glare can get into areas where I'm trying to focus. This allows me to see the glare prior to taking the shot, and I can adjust position accordingly, with ease. Great app, great set of apps. I use the simple gallery almost all the time also

2 major flaws with this app, otherwise it would be perfect for me: mainly, there's no pause button. That's a deal breaker by itself. I also got a heavy modulation in the audio. It's like a white noise phaser behind the voice. Def wanna look into that. Otherwise, I wish more cameras had the range of options this does.

Impossible to shoot horizontal pictures or videos, as this app automatically saves them vertically - I need to manually rotate everything in the gallery after shooting. Even after this, messaging apps still show the unrotated files, so I have to rotate them again... Some of the Simple apps are very good. Some others, like this Camera app, should be avoided.

This app - Simple Camera - is not one of the better offerings of Simple Mobile Tools. The camera is no better that my pre-installed app; has no option to adjust light/dark value; does not include a panoramic option; and, is extrordinary simple. Maybe the developer will improve it but, it is just not ready for prime time yet.

The photos taken do not match what was on the screen at the time the camera clicks. There must be a delay. The photo looks fine on the screen, but when you get home and look at the photos, you can see that the camera has moved and the images lost, because the photo was taken after you moved your phone away. Disappointing.

The camera app has stopped opening photos, I can't even open from file manager. I can see the small icon of the photo, but I can't open. Also the camera screen sometimes freezes on the image and won't let me take the photo. A message box appears for a few seconds saying something about the java runtime.

It hides the pictures so you can't download them, automatically zooms too far in when to try to zoom just a little, has no video, and the flashlight is lit the split second you open the app. The pictures are okay. In order to save all your pictures, you have to take screenshots of them all one by one, then you can save the screenshots. Used on a Samsung Galaxy S8 Active with Oreo 8.0, March 2020.

Worked great until I purchased it to get what I thought were 'colour' options - meaning to me the ability to change the colour, saturation, light and exposure settings. Of course: there aren't any. It's to change the stupid theme, font, and background colours. Now it's frozen and won't take pictures. But I'm too tight to uninstall it. Why should I though; I only took 5 pictures with it for free, and none paying for it. I should at least get one picture for my $1.19. What a sucker I am. Shills.

This is the best free camera app you can find. Can't beat the quality. No ads. Fast startup. Seriously...where is all the problems people keep talking about? The only problem I have is no flash option. But I am running on an older Android.

Good camera, but doesn't seem to support all modes my camera has. I'd still take it over my garbage HMD camera app any day. It's missing 16mp and 64mp, which my camera does support, and there's no real information on what type of video a video resolution falls under (FHD, UHD, Standard), and no framerate information from what I saw. but still, records well and is so far one of the best I used. As well, clicking on the camera to focus is very off, about an entire centimetre below where I touched

Good app, the one i totally trust. However, i can't use all three of my camera's at the backside of my phone. Don't see an option to switch between them. It's taking the 12MP one while the best is 48MP. Will have to keeo using other tools to use that camera until that option will be add.ed. If i ever can switch cams will update to 5 stars.

best i have found! i do creative photography and i downloaded 10 different camera apps and took a range of different photos of the same thing to compare. this one came out on top with the best looking wide photos, quickest to capture and the best for macro shots. very happy with it and have set it as my defalt camera app.

It really is a simple camera. But it's too simple, simple features and functions are missing like a timer or gridlines. Also it would be great if you could add HDR mode and simple filters like black and white or negative or sepia.

It does not use native resolutions. The flash lights up after the picture had been taken, so all the pictures appear as black. It lacks all the features of standard cameras, like portrait, night, panorama, slow motion, time lapse.

hi, i use all simple apps, they're great replacement for stock apps.i love the file manager and gallery. my only problem with camera app is that every time i have to switch between photo and video or i want to view the photo i just clicked i have to click the settings icon first. please put the thumbnail and photo/video mode icon on the main screen so that we can view the photo quickly and switch to clicking video or photo on one press instead.btw ive bought your thank you app too.

I found the right camera for this device. I had to work out the settings but after three times I knew how to set it up and it is clear and takes good videos. It gives HD quality. Have had no troubles.

Why does the flash stay on before taking the picture? Why is there compression in the settings, for such a simple camera app? Where's the variety of ASA ratings, compensation, panoramic mode. It doesn't use the full screen. Sorry simple apps are normally good.

I'm pretty hopeless all things Internet. Camera i had on my Tablet. I couldn't take a photo with it. Press that button moving others. Still couldn't take a photo. Got this Great Camera app from Play Store. Thumbs up. Switch on Camera. Point Camera at what ever. Press button. Takes Photo every time. Very Happy now Taking Photos and all real good pictures. Thank You. Simple Camera.

This is a second "simple" tool I try. Though very cute in UX, your tools are always a bit far to be perfect. This camera does not have HDR/DRO, and Panorama, comme il faut for very camera nowadays. Sigh, uninstalling. Btw, "onestar" today is the only way to get to developer. (I wonder why all of you together, camera developers, give 12mpx only, while I have much more)

Mostly good, but one problem or question (details follow.) Good: great flexibility setting picture resolution and compression, which is why I chose this application over built-in camera app of Samsung S7. Here is my use case which is causing some question or problem (about handling FLASH setting): Question: I am not sure about how to use Flash AUTO mode. My application is mostly close-up still photographs in poor ambient light, so flash is necessary. I already have set "FOCUS BEFORE CAPTURE" on (this works.) If I set Flash ON, then photo is always over exposed. If I set Flash to AUTO, then there is two different results, which is possible problem. Problem: If I set flash AUTO (camera light will be on, like in flashlight mode) and immediately take photo, then result is good photo (proper light, proper exposure, proper focus). If I return to phone home screen, phone light source turns off. I then return to simple camera application, I see setting is still FLASH AUTO, however, in this case camera light is OFF, so next photograph does not have light from phone, only ambient light, and photo is not good. Work-around: For each photograph in this condition (close-up photo where focus is required and flash/light is required), I must remember to step through FLASH OFF, then FLASH ON, then FLASH AUTO, so that camera light is on before I take photo. Is this normal for software? It is my only problem - if I can find better method for using the software, I would give five ***** rating, because otherwise it is very nice application.

Great photo quality, easy to use and simple! My only request is for the size of the black area to be adjusted. It's far too large compared to the buttons and takes up a lot of space that could be used for more photos!

Ela. G. Jul 16, 2021

It keeps zooming in to close upun asked for and ruins my photos. It doesn't show that that has happened in the little image so there is no way of knowing you have lost the shot until you look bak at the photos in the photo app. Im now going to uninstall it and look for a different app.

Thought my phone's camera was trash. Turned out it was the camera app! This app allows for HD video. Volume control to control snapping a picture also a solid feature. And no ads! Thank you, dev.
