I've only used the in store pay but it's really good! The only thing I'd recommend is that when you approach the card reader and the payment screen pops up, it's not scaled to the screen size properly, and an animation would also look good, other than that it's insanely good
Since the last update, I cannot even log in. Either it says it needs internet connection (mobil and wifi are active) or does nothing. Unusable in this condition Update on 21/10/03 - I cannot login, forgotten password is not working. Unreliable, unusable. 22/03/05 - still one of the worst apps ever. I purchased my bus pass there, now I cannot get on it because the system is "slow". I cannot even take a screenshot of my pass to use it offline.
Very nice app. If an option is added to authenticate with passcode / biometrics when opening the app and performing NFC payment I will modify it to 5 stars, as it feels slightly not secure currently. Another thing is, while there is a widget support for quick contactless payment if you check your widget menu, it will not work, simply nothing happens if you try to add it. This was tested on Xiaomi 11T Pro. But overall, good job, keep it up!
-10 rating. Shame Hungary only has this company to pay with. Not only I got error when I wanted to use my foreign card on a website to order food (previously worked many times), but also can't add card to my account after registering and trying to order again. Customer service can't do anything, they kept redirect me to others, then ask about my address, when I didn't even have acount when I used my card. What address??? There is NO OPTION to write address when paying. Trash app, lot of bugs.
When the simple servers cannot be accessed, nothing of the features can be used, not even opening BKK pass which is very frustrating when you are traveling. That makes the app unusable and worthless from time to time. And this happens more and more. Also opening the BKK pass takes too much steps that is a pain when you are in a hurry...why this cannot be added as a widget?
Since switching banks, mobile payment is no longer a thing for me. I can still buy highway tickets, but for a separate handling fee per region, which is not great. There's also a thing about cheques, the list of services is too long to be usable, and "QR payment" does not allow you to pay check by QR codes, yet there is no message or redirection, just the phone buzzing. It took 2 family members and 10 minutes to figure out to use check payment, and not QR payment. Not too intuitive.
Do not use this app for online tickets or passes! The app won't even open half the time, the other half you will not be able to access your ticket. Customer service is rude and useless. Had to wait for an hour to be told that they do not take responsibility for anything and to contact BKK customer service ( who picked up right away and told what I needed to know, by the way.) Not to mention how poorly the other features perform as well.... Just all around tragic.
First off, they charge your bank account 100 Ft "to try a transaction." (Now seriously, why can't they TRY its efficiency with 5 Ft or even 10 Ft???) Then it turns out that it's not working (of course) and when I call support, it's not enough that they're "unable to help," they won't even refund the "trial" 100 Ft! Well, I am not trying to call OTP bad or anything, but their app's installation method appears to be almost like a fraud... I cannot (!!!) recommend OTP or its app to anyone!
Does not even open up. After a few minutes of nothing, it says: "the simple service is not available". What a great app in 2022! Nice work OTP!
Waste of time. Arrived in Budapest, try to pay for parking, card doesn't work on the meter so had to downloaded the app and to my big surprise I couldn't check that my car has polish plates as there is no POLAND on your app!!!! Useless had to ditch the visit. Update : No you can't- YOU DONT HAVE POLAND ON THE LIST OF COUNTRYS!! so can not use it!
Easy and convenient to use! the fees of certain services (parking, highway vignette...) are higher than what you can get with dedicated apps but this one covers everything i need. It improved a lot in the last two years.
QR code takes forever to open for monhly Budapest public transport app. Sometimes it doesn't even open. Could you please explain why and fix this issue?
⚠️ Gave the app several chances to prove it's value...was pointless. I've got into embarassing situations 3x using this unreliably working application causing me financial losses as well (parking & highway use penalties) ! Be careful trusting in Simple! ⚠️
Some times the parking minute counting is unstopabble, like you park for 20 minute but had to pay 4h, because the serves isn't working. Parking automat is simpler then this...
Multiple instances where "The simple service is not available" even though it was working fine minutes ago, and I have to buy tickets because of this, while I have a pass.
I am sure it is better than 2* but please make it so that the email can be translated when viewed on a mobiles. Also, when there is a promotion of interest I have several times given up trying to get the promotion due to the app crashing.
It's a joke how they treat their users. The app always has some kind of upgrade or maintenance which means it's loading too slow. It is especially problematic when you use it for public transportation with BKK pass. So I would not recommend it. They need to test their code better or use better servers/services.
The app does not open up, when the simple servers are down, you cant use even basic functions like validating transport tickets that you bought through the app. And for the record, the servers are down a lot.
If they rename it to 'difficult' at least the name will be correct. Fighting with it for months now, first out of 10 bkk ticket purchases 9 were unauthorised. Registrating my card seemed to solve this for a while, then now suddenly my card is invalid (it's not, everywhere else it's working fine) and cannot re-register it. The UI is also an unnecessarily convoluted joke with irritating illustrations. Nonexistent customer service is just the topping on the cake.

Using it for BKK (Budapest transport) pass validatiom and the process takes not just occasionally way too long or not at all. It is frustrating when you rush to the metro or enter the front door of a vehicle.

For some reason Simple doesn't know that there are cards with expiry date 2030 or further and simply doesn't accept those saying "incorrect card expiry date"
Only this app allows OTP cards to be used for contactless payments. You should have the option to choose your home page, because it takes 3-4 interactions to navigate to the most commonly used function, the bank cards page.
Simple. I find the name of the application accurate. The UI is intuitive, everything works perfectly with no issues whatsoever. HOWEVER, offline payment only works for a certain amount of times. After a while it requires you to be online for whatever reason. I really enjoyed using this app because it was extremely convenient, but I am going to uninstall it because of this "Simple" reason. (pun intended) Hopefully Samsung Pay will someday accept my card as a payment method. Until then I'm going to stick to the good ol' fashioned credit card payment.
Not at all simple. Migrating to a new phone is a nightmare, and there is a problem everytime I use it. Right now it ask me to accept the new terms and conditions, I accept every required stuff (data processing, terms and conditions) hit accept, it exits and when I start it again it loads endlessly... it's almost simpler to go to a post office and pay my cheques there. A terrible experience.
Much more slower nowadays. If it stays like this I'll move to another app where I can handle parking
App produces debilitating connection issues and down times more than not. Horrible.
Its very unnerving, and frustrating when you have to stand and wait 10-15 minutes on your way down to the metro because the app doesnt open up due to server issues. In the duration of 3 months this happened to me twice already, but that doesnt mean it always works flawlessly. Its quite often slow. Very unpractical
