Simple NMEA Monitor enables you to directly view the NMEA data coming from the GPS receiver in your Android device. You can also stop the monitoring and examine a full set of NMEA sentences in more detail. This app offers no further explanation
- so you will have to check the meaning of the NMEA sentences by yourself. It is also not a GPS recorder
- so you can only see and examine, what GPS data is coming from your GPS receiver.
Multilanguage support: English, German

If you ever wondered what exactly your GPS is doing, this app will show you. It would be very nice if you could cut-and-paste the messages or log them to a simple text file - even if it were a fixed file name you just appended to it -- to help with development. These guys understand GPS messages more than they let on: check out their Satellite Time Reader (Free) and paid apps for another amazing utility that shows one way they use the satellite messages.
