Simple Notepad

Hot Tip: if it blurs when you scroll change appearance to light. Do not use transparent. Used this notepad for years and love it. My new phone, the app had a problem while scrolling. I tried other notepads but I don't like them as much. Then I found a fix. It was set at transparent with the wallpaper showing through. I changed the appearance to light (not transparent). Works great now.

Can make text cursor thicker and distint? I have been using this app for about an year and find it very much useful, suitable for my needs. Yet it would be better if it gives an option of reverting to last saved session through a button at top. Ideally it can be like backspace of the keyboard. Second the trail on scrolling the list of notes on the main page is a bit disturbing. I feel the trails are not necessary at all. I am buying this app for life time. Thanks for a nice Notepad App.

Nice basic notepad. Doesn't ask for a lot of intrusive permissions. I love being able to change all the font and color settings. Update: It has been acting strange the past few weeks. It will randomly scroll the text off the top of the screen while I'm either typing or figuring what to type next. Then I have to scroll back manually. Not sure if it's the app or the system...but it is annoying.

This app was very stable, simple, and easy to use. Just a day or so, it has become unstable. It keeps jumping to the end of the document so that the app is now useless. When reading, editing, or scrolling, the note jumps to the end this real frustration. It does this within 5 seconds of re-positioning the note or of its opening. I have used this for many years and have enjoyed it. Please fix this problem. PS. I just upgraded my phone from a Samsung Galaxy 8 to Samsung Galaxy 20.

You have no idea how many memories I’ve made with this app heheheh. From 2018-2020, I spent many a night writing away in this app, writing over 100k words in total. I especially liked the feature that showed word count, and I loved the customization options. I don’t use it anymore since I switched to using an iPhone, but it will always hold a special place in my heart :3

Awesome app that does exactly what it is supposed to do. Ad-free! I hope they don't sell my data... but even then, great work! Edit after 3 more years of daily use: still the best app on my device, boosted my productivity and helped me be more organized. I just learned that the only "complaint" I ever had (notes are archived upon deletion) can simply be turned off in the setting (my bad for not finding out earlier^^) Keep up the great work.

You can move your cursor with the volume buttons. If you hold a volume key then it'll jump to the start/end of the current document, very useful for when the end of your document is pressed against the right side of your screen (left/right swiping on some keyboards can also move your cursor less precisely. This has all the functionality I need and more. I use it for writing short stories and drafting programs when I don't want to leave bed, although the grouping system could use an overhaul.

I love this app. The main reason is because it allows me to save / export my notes to the SD. Other note apps have decided to remove the option of storing to SD. Instead, you are forced to either store to the internal memory of the phone or online (i.e. ColorNotepad). This app is simple, you can share, it has the option of password, creating folders, plus you can see the notes on your computer through standard Windows Notepad. I take a lot of notes, so this is perfect for me. I recommend it. @Developers - please lock down the notes editor, so accidental edits are not done when reviewing a note.

It's absolutely incredible...however, you need to improve these: 1. Tasks. The constant height of the tasks is so bad. It can't even expand as the text being added. If I copy a text that longer than the task placeholder, the text will be cut and I need to view it through "Edit". 2. Background. You need to include option to choose background from device. 3. Fullscreen mode. Sometimes I have difficulty in jotting ideas here. The text editor (basic text note, not the checklist) is so cluttered. Please improve this.... 4. Privacy. I don't really sure if this app value my privacy. The interface didn't really seem that it can be fully trusted.

Really great note app. It doesn't have all the features of a word processor (but it's a note app). It's simple, straight forward, and doesn't hog resources. I really how it will automatically name the note file from the first line of the note (should you forget to give it a name), no more "Untitled" files. Now, if I could get the app to get the files for editing from, and save them where I want to save them, that would be great. As it stands now, I will use where the app wants them, and like it!

You can size a widget and alter how it appears, including the background transparency. I have three, a list of all the food items I want to choose from and my current shopping list. Both show their contents, as far as their sizes allow. That means I always have them visible and can make changes from one to the other very quickly. The third is just for current information I want to be immediately visible. However, I do not like how it saves, because you cannot abandon changes. That is dreadful.

I love this app, but I have one main issue with it. when I edit a list item, half the time it doesnt save. It's possible I'm missing the OK button by a tiny bit. I confirmed that this happens even if I do not click Cancel but maybe just to the right or below. Please make the clickable (touchable) area of OK button bigger and dont exit if the surrounding empty space is touched. 3 stars for this and no updates since 2016 for other reviews that I agree with.

It's very easy to create a note for your homesceens! Reminders, shopping list, telephone number or password right on the screen. Thanks Developer. Perfect!

This App Has Everything You Need for taking Notes! Easy to use, Ad Free, & has a ton of features & functions. Take a look at "About This App" & see all the features listed. You can easily share or export your notes. It even saves your notes automatically, including any changes made, so you never lose them if you're interrupted, change screens, & forget to go back to exit out. I've been using this app for over 5 yrs & I still think it's the best! I'm currently using it on a Samsung Galaxy S5.

I started using this app bc I didn't like the built in memo app that came with my phone. I've been using it for years now & download it on all my devices! It's SUPER easy to use & SUPER easy to backup all your notes &/or transfer them to a new device. You can easily customise note settings & also colour code titles, create folders, and add them to your homescreen for easy access! TLDR; The best notepad app I've ever used. It's very useful, customisable, and incredibly easy to use!

Jessica Conner. I connected my old phone to the computer and copied all folders to the computer. I then copied all folders from computer to the new mobile phone. I then installed the simple notepad app on the new phone. I then went to Settings in the new simple notepad app and pressed either restore or import data. I can't remember exact setting its been a while. All notes were restored. Great app.

Brilliant little app: complete, flexible, powerful with a small footprint. I use it to jot down things to remember but mainly as shopping list. What else do you need than as many items, in right order on your screen with possibility to add on the fly forgotten things. Used many of these apps before and mostly for a long time but most of them where drowning in visible gadgets, hiding functionality. I love this one!

I used this app for years on my previous phone. I still really like it, but could someone :::please::: tell me to where the option for the font color on the main screen has been moved. Yes, I can change the color of the font after creating a note/list, but I'd like to have the app not do white-on-white by default. The help/support and changes liknks are deprecated.

I used to love this app. It worked well before 2013, so I trusted it when when my grandson was born in 2013. I kept every single milestone and memory with a photo on here. As he's gotten older, there have been fewer to add, so I just realized out of way over 100, there are 10 or so left. They're just GONE! And dont expect to get help from the developer. Beyond upset, memories I'll never get back.

Excellent for shopping & wish lists, journaling & creative writing, letters & "to do" reminders, AND things I haven't even thought of yet. On top of having unlimited potential uses, Simple Notepad offers TWO locks to secure my various writings. Not so long ago I kept my journal in a locked desk drawer! For these reasons (and more), I highly recommend this app. And I haven't even mentioned the dozens of ways the app's Settings allow me to personalize "My" Simple Notepad.

Its a Very Good App but only thing lacking is importing / exporting the notes to an online back up. Everytime I change my phone, the data gets lost, Or when I export it to memory card, it creates duplicates. and since I have many notes, it is a big task to open every note before deleting the duplicates. It badly needs an online linking option.

Most features are good in this app, easy to use and my favourite over past few years (I love the colour coordinating option for titles). Only one thing I've not been able to find an answer for, even on Google: it shows that deleted notes are archived but how do you access the archive? I haven't been able to find any option to access the archive, if anyone knows, please let me know

I used to like simple notepad till they fixed it. After the last software change forced upon me, it is frustrating and not usable anymore. The background was changed to pictures and now I can't get back to plain white pages so that I can actually read what I have written. The list of notes no longer shows the title of the note but just a comma. when I change the setting one note shows the title in colored text and the rest are still blank. this makes the program unusable.

Local TXT saving is supported. But you won't see any Save As or Export option, even after selecting a File. Do not worry though. Your saved note is in the simplenotepad/auto_exported folder. At first, I did not like this confusion about TXT export. Because that setting is in the Settings menu, Tools sub-menu. But, I guess, the Auto Exported feature is good anyways. As long as I get 'purely offline' TXT files; I am good with this app. 1 star removed for the Export TXT confusion.

I've used this app since 2017 maybe 2016 and it has been amazing, I am a little confused by the backup and restore process, what happens if I lose a phone or it gets damaged and can't be used to access the notes, where are they backed up if there is no sd card slot on that phone? I tried using the sim in a different android and downloading the app and that did not work. This should be one of the more basic functions I would imagine in terms of archiving long term.

I've used this app for years and don't know how I'd get along without it. It's small & simple yet has all the features you need for creating checklists and notes. I use the checklists daily: my prioritized to-do lists, grocery list, vacation packing list, holiday gift lists, etc.

I've always loved this app! It's one of the first things I make sure to install when I get a new device. It has been extremely useful for things like shopping, packing, and to-do lists, as well as taking down notes for any reason when my phone is all I have handy. It's a great place to jot down story ideas or to stash some copypasta until I need it again.

It is a good design, but is now not supported, so no use contacting designer. Experiment to see how it works. I found using the widget as a shortcut to a note stops working frequently & making a direct shortcut doesn't ever appear on any screen. But it saves copies as text (unless u choose something else), so it's good for transferring them to pc or other device.
