This app worked wonderfully for a time, but now when I unlock notes, the notes appear as empty. I am absolutely using the correct code. Edit: I tried reinstalling at the developer's behest. Notes are still empty. I'm disgusted with the sheer incompetency of the developers. What use is a notepad if it decides to start deleting years of notes for no reason? Take your time and money elsewhere. This app can not be trusted to keep your notes.
Great app and the pro version allows for a scrollable widget. Well worth the cost! Things I'd LOVE to see added: (would be rad) - Customizable option for widget that enables a border (and unique color) to be selected. - Text formatting (bold, italics underline) - Ability to insert images and them be viewed (and scroll) in widget! Either way this is a GREAT app. Found it recommended from XDA!
Another great simple app, one thing though: It would be nice if you could categorize a series of notes under one name rather than a a list of all individual notes. That way it's easier to find a group of relevant notes rather than pressing the folder icon and find one note after another.
Still the best I used so far. I have been with this app for at least 3 years with 3 phone changes in between. Its easy to back up & restore. Interface is straight forward & most important of all, AD free. Will always give 5 stars.
Lovely app! It does what it's meant for, simple and easy. I'm not giving 5 stars because the search feature can be improved. It's way too slow as it is right now, and the app tends to freeze. Apart from that, it's a great app!

Jan 19, 2022 I exported all my notes to files. It seems I must import them one at a time. I have nearly 20 notes, so it's very annoying to restore all. I hope after I get through all that, that it no longer crashes. You should add an option to select multiple files at a time for input (import) into lists. Assume file name is the list name, and files' formats determines type of notes to create.
Love it. So simple to set up and use. Just put it on my main screen and I can instantly see my list without opening anything.

Great, simple notebook app. Can create multiple files, and switch between the on-the-fly, as well as import & export files.
It does exactly what I installed it to do: display a notepad in a home screen widget that I can edit with a tap.
I have the pro version installed mostly as a thank you for me using the free version. But all of a sudden for some reason it won't let me set the widget. Says I need to upgrade to pro.. but I have pro damnit.
Keyboard won't go away after scrolling. If I got to read a note and I accidentally open the keyboard, if I scroll down the note further the keyboard should go away, but it doesn't, you have to manually hit the back button. There could also be like a read only mode that could prevent this.
One set of notes for home and one for work. Simple to use. Probably has more features than I need. Does exactly what I want to do.
Best mobile notes (to do list) app till now. The 2 best features of this app are, it's interface, and the unlimited word count. Mobiles today are already filled with numerous apps and apps like note pad or to do list is always big and usse alot-of visual space. Which makes it more messy and also creates an unpleasing appearance. But there is no such things with this app. The interface is fully transparent and the font's are superb, also the main key feature is, it will get combined with widget..
I recommend this app for simple text notes. I keep a variety of notes on my phone, the primary ones being my grocery list and my lists of books (fiction and non-fiction) to check out at the library. I was using S Notes, but it was frustrating to use. Today I got so fed up that I went looking for a replacement, installed several, and tried them. Simple Notes Pro was the (very nearly) perfect one for me. It does what I need without my having to wade through a bunch of features I'll likely never use. The one request I have (right now) for a future version would be the ability to rearrange items on a checklist. I make my grocery list as I go through my week, and I like it to be in the order in which I travel through the store. The checklist feature of this app would be great for my grocery list, but as far as I can tell, there seems not to be a way to rearrange the items on the list.
Update: 2020/03/17 A note picker and rearranging items in checklists has now been added. All in all, it's basically perfect now 😄 One of the simplest and easy to use note taking apps around (and I've tried a few!). My only two gripes are having to swipe through all my notes to find the one I'm looking for (if I need to switch between them after the initial list shows on startup), and the inability to rearrange items in checklists, but otherwise, well worth the time of day
Superb app. I use it for shopping lists, reminders and appointments. It can be displayed with ease on the desktop (or whatever they call it on a mobile phone). Plus it allows transparency which allows me to still see the background and trust me it is a really useful app. I tried a few others but found this one does what it says. Best app even if it is just a notepad.
Dropped the ball with this one. I've been using your apps (all pro plus bought the thank you and whatnot) and I typically love them. But sadly this one has some severe issues with load times and constant crashing. I'd love to see this app get some quality of life improvements. Keep up the good work on the rest though! Edit: it crashes frequently on export and freezes with larger text documents.
12.28 Still glitchy while typing. Cursor jumps around while typing. Keyboard issues. --- This app is straightforward and easy to use. I like that it has a word count. I find the line spacing a bit too tight and it is not adjustable. I gladly PAID the very low price for the Pro version. But I am kind of amazed that this is exactly the same as the free one, does not replace the free one when installed, and the icons are confusingly identical.
Exactly as it says, simple notes that can be opened up within the app or used as a simple and fast note taking widget. No ads, no annoyances, simple customization to make it work with any background or launcher and very easy to use. Had used the free version for the past 2-3 years, enjoyed it enough to want to support the developer(s) further.
VERY disappointed to find that all my lists are blank!! It's like all the text was deleted from each entry. I see the developer responded that this was due to a bug in an update that has since been fixed but that the data isn't recoverable. Beyond losing my lists, I'm worried that this speaks to a lack of quality control in their release process and don't think I can trust it going forward. Would be one star except that this is one of the few note apps without unnecessary permissions.
I love all your apps, but I'm pretty upset. In trying to import plaintext files that I had exported, I selected a folder that contained the .txt files and some other files, it crashed on import AND DELETED THE .txt file, then subsequently crashed every time I opened the app, only fixing itself with a data wipe, which of course deleted the notes... I'm rating 5 stars because I really like your apps, but this needs to get fixed. If it's a problem with other files in the folder, just have the scan search for only .txt files, or issue a warning to NOT have other files in the folder or something.
Checklist note is cool, but it would be cooler to be able to add an entry directly clicking on screen (type directly on screen, as a new line), instead of having a menu for it. It's just an extra (unnecessary) step. I like your apps for simplicity. Hopefully they won't become clumsy.
Pretty good so far! The UI could use a bit more polish (for example, the lower-right + button can overlap to-do items when rearranging the list, so you are not able to move the last item) Overall, does what it says, i'm happy to support the project :) EDIT: Added specifics to the comment about UI polish
Absolutely the best Android Notes app replacement. Android doesn't have a good text editor that can open/export plaintext (TXT) files. Quite often the default OEM Note apps cannot create checklists. It's an excellent application that fills the gaps. I recommend Simple Notes Pro to everyone who is looking for a fully capable text editor which is also suckless at the same time.
I really liked the free version, so i bought the paid one. And was very pleased by new checklist note type! However i would like to see these in the future: -To be able to see the notes arranged as tiles and list. -To have the option not to add title name to the newly created note. -To disable (spacebar) swipe, because its a pain to slide the cursor to the end of the note and to find it in the next note.
Pretty good. Simple notes app. Easy to have multiple lists/notes going and switching between them. Only con is it really needs an undo action, because I would have accidentally selected something to move it up or down the list but it selects more than intended and gets deleted instead. Its frustrating since some of my list are throughout the week so I forget what's always there.
