Simple Speed Check

Very simple but still one of the better speed testers ive tried. No options for setting test servers or data file sizes it just dors what it says on the tin. No ads that ive seen yet and no gimmicks. Has option to auto test by time or every time you enter your home by geofence (not a feature ive seen elsewhere but useful to notify of data outages) I like it.

nice tidy little app simple to use. You don't need to understand terminology such as bpm the app makes it simple ie higher is better. Nice activity grading chart for different activities like streaming or video chat. Displayed as simple 1 to 5 scale. I would think that using the app and it's history you could find where the best place in your home for the fastest link speed connection is. You can also find the poorest areas which might be improved by repositioning your WiFi router.

Great speed checker, seriously, this app works very well, the only thing is that the adds are way way way too much, I was this close to uninstalling the app forever until I came across an option to remove the adds for free, not sure if it'll actually remove them for free yet because I got stuck doing this review immediately afterwards, but I'll find out in a min, any decrease in adds is better than the atrocious amount of adware that's on the free version of this app. Wonderful application tho.

Various tests between a two-day period, literally less than 20 tests but somehow that surpassed more than a gigabyte of data........ Thanks for using a large amount of data just to see how fast my internet is, absolutely not worth my time.

Not sure why, but immediately after installing, Malwarebytes ANTI-MALWARE shows this "org.speedspot.speedspotspeedtest" as a PUP. So I'm curious as to why, because I've been using their software for a decade or more and they've always been the best I've used when it comes to keeping my devices and PCs safe. Please explain so I can change the rating if necessary. Thanks

Non functional! My speed 0.0 Mbps (up and down), signal -100%... Well, with speeds like that, in really impressed that ALL websites visited, apps used, bought some stuff online, notifications constantly coming in....I just can't understand how I get all that network pulled data awhile having no signal.

I have literally never taken the time to write a review for an app. But, this app is simply amazing. The quality of this app is above, honestly, anything in the playstore. It's seriously better quality, for performance, usability, reliability, UI, and features, than commercial grade apps across all fields, let alone for wifi analysis. And on top of that, the developers are true to developers. Which, as someone who loves developing and is majoring in computer science to be a developer, is amazing. They could easily put so many ads in this app and monetize the hell out of it, but they didn't. Please support them!

Not only does it not contain disruptive ads but it actually gives you the option to remove ads for FREE after asking you very nicely for a small donation to remove the ads but if not then you can still remove them for free, PERMANENTLY! No catch what so ever! Wow. Great concept guys seriously.

This app was very generous with it's ad-free tier! It does an excellent job with determining the speed of my home's wifi service. I highly recommend this app for it goes into great detail and gives you all the information you need to know on your wifi service without making it a cluster mess.

Great app. Seems pretty accurate. There is a short ad after running the test but it's very short and you can close it. There is an option to get rid of ads but they're not much of a problem anyway. I'd recommend this app!

I have professional equipment and two other speed check apps. Simple Speed Check is the most accurate of the apps I use when I check it against my equipment. The others are often off by as much as 20%, Simple Speed Check is never off by more than 4%. Great work! Kudos to the developers! Mike spillan

Includes wifi strength as an appreciated bonus. Also lets you limit the data used when testing mobile (cell) data speeds. Nice. The only negative (for me) is its use of the d/m/y date format. The y/m/d format is the most logical.

Really enjoy the app. I recently upgraded my internet package with Suddenlink. 100Mbps + unlimited bandwidth/data usage. We have 3-4 TV's that are streaming simultaneously & I enjoy knowing that I'm getting the internet speed that I am paying for & more!

Wow great speedtwat product easy and documents your speed test. This is especially helpful since I upgraded to a week WiFi router, and it shows how strong the mesh signal coverage made in my speed tests. Nice benchmark saving feature for testing home network configuration and devices.

Does not seem to work well with slow connections. Reveals 9999 ping, 0 mbps. When the test stops its still using data as visible from the app Network Speed. Seems confused and times out prematurely. Speed test from Ooka works properly and shows 0.02 mbps and 200 ms ping.

Does precisely what it is supposed to do. Helpfully, it even lets you limit the data transfer volume when testing the 4G speed so as not to waste your available data.

I've used both this app & the free one that the FCC offers. I've found that this app runs better, especially when connected to Wi-Fi guest networks offered by most restaurants and hospital's. I also like the fact that this app also saves my testing history after creating an account. Good job guys.

Everything was fine until they start trying to shove ads down your throat. I get that server costs are expensive, but really? Limiting the amount tests to 3 per day? What is this, some freemium game? That is not the way to do it. 2/5 just because the app does as advertised at first.

Simple and easy to use having an accurate log of you daily download and upload speeds. Having a running tally provides the data to know what adjustments need to be made in order to maximize your online internet experience.

Huge battery drain some days. I have all the permissions turned off and I'll find it running in the background on some days; even when I haven't opened the app. Today, it's used 12% of my battery and I haven't opened the app in weeks.

Very pleased, my go to speed checker. Had the BT guys in to check my broadband and their fancy equipment had the same readings as this app. Lots of useful looking info, that I don't understand.

Excellent piece of software: simple, intuitive and comprehensive...with some very nice features, especially the detailed information and history.

I couldn't find any drawbacks in the Application. Besides this, it gives the external and Internal IPs. Also it gives explanation of the abbreviations of the speed terms and give option to read in MB/s, Mbps or kB/s. Besides all this, you can send a link giving all the details for comparison or any other proof.

Has become hugely inaccurate. Other sites and apps show download speeds 6x what this app shows. If it won't report the actual download speeds, I can't use it. Uninstalling.
