A useful addition to IoT automation, at least within its limits. Using it with successfully with MyQ and Google Home/Alexa, but took a while to figure out the correct format "Hey Google, activate (SimpleCommands routine trigger phrase)" or "Alexa, activate (same)" due to lack of documentation. Webhook triggers were announced back in 2019, but either they never made into production or have since disappeared.
The app has made arming and disarming Ring system automated. Yes I have to sign in sometimes. To me that is no big deal. What is crazy is the time zone is different from Pensacola Florida, it is eastern time zone, so I set it one hour or so beyond the desired time. This app saves me time especially when I forget before bed.
Absolutely amazing. I saw a reddit post on how to integrate Ring Alarm Security to Google Home with this app and it does exactly that. I scheduled every morning to disable the alarm and created routines to arm home mode when i say "hey google, good night". The time zone is off by one hour, still trying to figure that out but so far so good.
*2nd EDIT* MyQ no longer can be connected. *EDIT* Back to 4 stars. Apparently you MUST enable Assistant for each device inside the app BEFORE connecting kloee for SC to Google Home. Otherwise, it goes into a "loop" of sorts and it never gets added. I think this needs to prompt you or something of the sort. *End edit* Google Assistant no longer works. This used to work wonderfully. I tried to add a device via the "Works with Google" option inside of the Google Home app and every time.... Etc.
Great app great support! As of this writing, the only way to arm and disarm the Ring Alarm within an Alexa routine is with this app. I have been very happy but over the weekend I started having issues with it. I contacted support, and John immediatley responded and fixed the problem. Very happily surprised.
It works great for what I need it to do, until I restart my phone. Despite clicking on "remember me" every time I log in, the app won't remember me. I'm not sure if it's doing this because I enabled two-factor authentication, but each time I reboot my phone and use the app, I have to log in and input the two-factor authentication code. It's not exactly convenient. I've removed two-factor authentication, and the app still does not remember me. 👎
I think this app is dead. The app hasn't been updated since July 2019. Their Facebook page has not been updated since November 2019. Routines only work intermittently. I have tried to contact support multiple times but no response. Even their community forum has not had any reply to users for last several months.
Used this for myQ garage opener for Alexa. My installation was a little different from what others had to do, just be prepared for software changes especially Alexa app since that seems to change alot. Cheers for support, they were right on top of it, I conversed with them through FB messenger.
Easy to use, instant responses (Lights are instantly triggered), works with Wink and Smarthings, Alexa, and Google. Finally! An easy way for my 10 Wink Relays to work with Smart things without using slow ass IFTTT. Using your app is the first time I have actually been excited about my Home Àutomation system, I was able to connect and control Wink and Smarthings in like 5 minutes. All these other apps require a programmer mind. Now for the bad: No way to set triggers as far as I can tell.
app! Triggers DO NOT work with Ring alarm. ANY Ring triggers you try and set say may take 20min to run but then never do! Not impressed! This app really does not do anything IFTTT can't already do and does it better! Other than checking status on devices or alarm state there is no automation with Ring at all!
Excellent start. The Ring integration is awesome. Needs to be able to link accounts/mobile devices of multiple people as a group, then build routines on that group. For example run a routine when the first person arrives home, regardless of who it is.
I have long looked for a stable interface (fee-free) to manage my garage doors with MyQ and Alexa. This app did the trick! Not only functional but also very well-designed and user-friendly. An outstanding app by any measure!
When this works, it's great. Getting a response from the devs is difficult. I understand Google changed the requirements to integrate with Google Home, but trying to get feedback on workarounds appears to be impossible.
Trying to setup MyQ, but constantly says my credentials are wrong, even though I logged out of the MyQ app and successfully logged in with the same credentials. Update: after going through Twitter, I found a workaround by using the Generic Garage Door Opener connection, but there was nowhere in the app that said to use this instead. Lazy.
Just started using the app. Seems very detailed yet simple. After a brief outage issue yesterday, support was immediate and everything is back up and running. I will update this review after some time and experience with the app.
The app is very useful for its intended purpose when it works. I can't get things like location-based commands to work. I initially got fast response from the developer, but now despite multiple emails I can't get any response to help with my issues.
Routine trigger based on location doesnt work. Can't set time zone. Can't set up SMS. Am on latest Android Pie OS. Not a good out of the box intro. [UPDATE] APP team reached out to provide guidance. Promised update still not working to address issue with routine not handling hours & days + time zone + SMS.
Trash. I am trying to use this app simply to geofence my myq garage opener. It doesn't work. Regardless of the time spent researching and testing, nothing works. I read something curious while running the app saying it needs to be in the foreground. App permissions also only allow location tracking when in use. So I'm guessing you need to be actively using the app for geofence to trigger? Which makes this utterly worthless.
Working good for me. I just downloaded it so I could connect Alexa to MyQ and it did exactly what I wanted. So I'm happy. I found it through a article from a quick Google search. He had a step-by-step guide. And I'm done, on to the next project.
Continuous issues with using Alexa to control garage door. I deleted it, per the App suggestion, and now it won't let me add it back but it will let me add everything else in App list. Pointless.
Needs work. I set up a routine to open my garage upon entering my home location area but it doesn't work. It appears it's not checking for location. I made sure the app has location privileges but still nothing.
Installed and was able to successfully connect to myq... And that was it. Spent an hour trying to connect with Google Assistant and got nowhere, which is a huge bummer, since I really want to replace the now-useless IFTTT. 🤷
I downloaded the app to work with Alexa and MyQ. Got it downloaded and created an account. Got the verification email. Tried login and the system said either inaid login or account name. Had the system resend the verification email, got the same thing. DELETED THE APP
I tried to email you this question, but no response to email, hence posting this here: I would like to create a routine, with the following conditions: When ringdoor bell detects a motion between sunset & sunrise, turn on lights. How can I do this? I don't see an option to select sunset/sunrise in time conditions section.
Cannot give a lower score, because I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong. MyQ garage won't open or close when setup with Geo Location. I seen on YouTube videos working but on iPhones. May be an android problem with location.
Downloaded the app to use with MyQ garage door control and it doesn't work. When I go to add the MyQ to the managed devices it takes you to the authorization login for MyQ, I enter my credentials and it continually tells me my login is not valid. I tried several times without success, so I deleted the app.
2.5 stars rating about right as it seems to work for a half the devices. Tried this to get Geo,fencing for MyQ garage door. Works well on my daughters iPhone but does nothing on my LG K30 running Android 9. Hope developers put more effort into Android but from searching the Internet, doesn't seem likely as the Android Geo fencing problem has been an issue since at least 2019.
Tells me my Simplisafe login info is incorrect. Obvious bug. Tried over and over and validated credentials with the Simplisafe app itself. Will probably uninstall.
Something is broken, unable to register- verification email never shows up. I tried via the web and app. (Checked, double checked and rechecked inbox and spam folder after several attempts spanning days)
Somehow my review got deleted, this app has a horrible learning user interface. There's no guidance and I have been struggling adding an item, even though there's a connection and synced. Update: After minutes it finished recognizes an item! How long does it take to sync!? And choosing the time zone is a nightmare, there's like a million options. UI needs help!
