This app is the worst. I've tried paying my accounts and anytime I do I have to cross my fingers that the option to actually pay for it loads.
Registered and can't login, even though I just made a username and password, so it wasn't incorrect. Simply energy is just difficult in general, will be changing providers
App won't even load. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Still won't load or open. Had nothing but issues with Simply Energy since I signed up.
Ive been having issues with making a payment it worked fine before but last time I tried to update payment it wouldn't let me and now im trying it today and it still won't allow me
Can't rate the app because I can never bloody use it! Always under maintenance or some rubbish. Have been a customer for many years. Not once have I been able to login to the app or the website, because of technical issues or maintenance or whatever. NOT ONCE. Not going to take the chance to speak to customer service, that's always a gamble.
The new app update is terrible. After pressing a lot of buttons I just noticed that I have unpaid bill. No notification, no email, just sitting there hidden. Cannot even download invoice to print it. The previous app was just fine, we could pay our bills on time, but with this upgrade I recommend to stay away from this provider. Also the app is constantly loading something, configuring details, probably eating your data. I can't believe that I have to give one star.
Terrible. Why did app change when it worked so well to begin with? It was the perfect app and one of the reasons why i liked simply energy. The new app is slow, can't access information quickly without going through many screens, usage info not as detailed (no longer able to view usage on daily basis) and doesn't even show a due by date on summary screen without clicking on pdf statement. Interface also less user friendly. So disappointed.
UPDATE-The August update is better but there is still a way to go. It's still not back up to the standard pre July but I would encourage you to keep working on it. ORIGINAL-Since this app was updated in June or July it is completely different to the previous awesome version. It should be renamed to the Complicated Energy app. Simply energy, this is one nail in your coffin, keep up the bad work and I'm out of here. Time to roll back to the user friendly version, if it were an option.
App is pretty average compared to competitors, usually history only available from day you start with the company and you can't even set the way you want your usage displayed unless you manually change the settings every time you log-in! But the biggest flaw is if you set up touch ID(fingerprint login) the only way is if you enter in your login name and password then check the remember me tab which stays visable so anyone can click cancel and press enter to get access (pointless)
I try not to be too harsh when it comes to app updates as I realise what kind of work goes into app development, but this app is an absolute dumpster fire after the most recent update. Constantly freezing when I try to view my bills and make payments, and now switching between gas and electricity accounts is far less streamlined as it was prior to the update.
Love the facelift to the app. The interface is much more usable and the content is way better organised than what it was earlier. This all in comparison to what we had earlier. Please keep the trend going. Hopefully the next upgrades is on the charts to have better and targeted filter, maybe date range checks. Makes comparisons much better.
Best app i have downloaded by far cause i can sit at my kitchen table and pay my electricity bill while having a coffee. Just need to work out how to do the same with my gas ⛽️ bill!!
The updated app is terrible. Not only does it take longer to load and get to information, but it doesn't like processing payments properly. I had one bill where it paid twice and the last one had no record of being paid even though it was paid on time. The new app also doesn't email a payment receipt like the old one did.
The app is actually good but the customer service is below average
Several days after setting up account on app it tells me it doesn't recognise my email address or password. Really poor start! Smh
If I could give zero stars I would. You get one by default. Can't use the app at all. Great company rubbish app and website. Sort it out guys
The new update is horrendous. Unusable. Pointless. Gas has dropped off the app so have to go to the website to check it. Not user friendly anymore. Information is harder to read and find. The date range function is flawed. Takes ages to actually login to the app now as well. Please roll back to the previous version till you fix the new version please.
Bring back the old app, you have to toggle between gas and electricity now to view either, app is slow, payments get deducted but account is still showing that payment hasn't been received. Had to call up and was advised payment is missing and needs to be followed up by revenue department although it has been deducted from credit card..
After having used this app on my previous iPhone where touchID would make the login fail and now using Android where subpar UX, lack of any innovative features and annoying bill payments requiring manual entry of credit card details have pushed me over the edge and I've decided to transfer both my electricity and gas to Powershop. Sorry guys, but you need to really step up your game in the digital space for both your web and apps else many more will tire of it as I have.
Trying to register my account and it just keeps giving the exact same message saying the password doesn't contain enough valid characters, even though it does. Totally useless at this point. Because I can't create my login, I cannot see when bills are due etc.
The new update completely changed the UI and made things difficult to use and navigate. Additionally, I can no longer see or pay my gas bill in the app. The app has essentially become useless with the change in UI
edit as of 16th August 2020. It seems like Simply Energy has listened to their customers this latest update to the app is a lot better it works great now can see everything good job simple energy. This latest update is terrible. Why change something that was not broken. I can't see my gas usage as there is not an option anymore plus the interface is no good please go back to the old version.
The old app was way better and easier to use. I'm not liking this one. I look at my bills elect bill says $119 but click on view bill it says $140 gas bill reads $82 view bill it reads $97 call simply energy and no one has any idea what is going on and of course tell me to pay the highest one it is also doing same thing on the website. there was nothing wrong with old app this so needs to be fixed it's really annoying calling simply energy to get info on bills and no one there has answers
If I'm able to log in, it's great. But it frequently and randomly locks me out telling me I've 'been temporarily blocked for security purposes'. Why?! The lack of consistency in access needs to be addressed.
SIMPLY TERRIBLE!!!!!!! The new update is useless! Looks fancy but has no brains lol! It is NOT 'simply' easy to access your balances and view your usage in one place like the previous version. Whoever developed this app or allowed it to be changed so dramatically needs their head read. This update is so bad, I dont even want to look at my account details because it gives me a migraine just trying to figure out what the hell I'm looking at. Change it back please!!!! Worst app update!
Since the update, I don't see my gas bill and usage, only my electricity usage and bill. It is not as clear as the old app where it was quick to see which bill is still to be paid. It's terrible and for the first time, I missed paying on time
App used to be really simple and useful to check my bill and make sure payment received etc. But the update has made it too hard to use and review any of the information that's hidden away. Even switching between gas and electricity is an unneccessary challenge now.
The app has been terrible the last week or so, taking forever to load, then when it does, it's giving readings from 3 years ago! Have had 2 messages within 2 days saying app is unavailable due to maintenance, but obviously the maintenance is not working!
New layout is terrible!!! The old layout was simple, functional and well thought out. The new layout is horrible, hard to find anything and makes little sense!
Always difficult to actually pay a bill. Never loads also go on to the website to pay the bill same problem. Time is up with Simply Energy after many years.
