Has no info on the trails I was on. Just looking for a trail map, but I advise you to go to one of the bike shops rather than here
I used it a lot, but now its not comparable with my phone. I even baught a subscription now i cant use it.
Why would you need access to phone information? It was a decent app until this recent update. Removing now.
App won't load local trails tried uninstall and re installed with no change
wants way to much access to my phone. bye app
The app takes a very long time to load in fact it never did load my local trails. When I found a trail by searching it was listed as Beginner when this trail is actually black Diamond expert so that is potentially dangerous. Also the maps would not load once I found a trail. Trailforks is MUCH better.
Needs to make better use of maps. For travel planning it would be beneficial to have the trail list by state display on a map. Lots of great content on Singletrack, just challenging to get at it. Even their list of best trails in the world, is not mappable and only shows nearby city without state/province so finding a trail based on planned travel is arduous. MTB Project is so much better in this regard, but Singletrack has more content. If only I could use MTB Project app on Singletrack content. Every time I try to use it to locate trails in another area, I find it absolutely unusable. Works fine for locating trails near me which is fine if you don't travel to new areas.
App is pretty functional, but looks and feels very dated, because of this the app can be clunky to use. Lacks some features/integration that would be good to have, better Integration of maps would've been nice, as the app gives you a directions button and takes you to the Google maps app to display, where instead I would like to see in app Ggle maps and Ggle Earth integration. Because of the aforementioned old look and feel resulting in clunky use of the app, I'd like to see some general design/ layout changes to make the app easier to use. OVERALL puts singletracks on your phone, with almost all the functionality of the desktop site, but lacks the polish that makes me prefer the desktop site over this.
Signup is totally lame. It doesn't tell you the username is taken until you enter all your signup information. Once you hit SUBMIT, it thinks about it for a while, then dumps all the info you entered with your thumbs and tells you "the user name or the email address is already taken". Really? And they don't even tell you which is taken--the email address or the username! So I tried a second time with a different username, and it dumped all my info again. Meanwhile, ads are scrolling by faster than a ticker tape. Uninstalling without even getting through signup. Lay-hay-hame!
Slow and clunky. Try Trailforks or MTB Project. I want to like this but it's been leapfrogged
I love the singletracks web site, but this app is pretty bad.
No brands I'm interested in. No trails near me. Maybe meant just for US use?
Can't access controls at the bottom of the screen due to the overlapping advertising
Looks great has all the info I need so far gonna get a lot of use once the snow melts
Easy to use, lot of MTB trails
Can't browse map? It just loads a few local trails. Why can't I zoom to a certain area of the map and see what's there?
2008 called, they want their app back.
Useless. No maps or anything. Don't understand the point of even offering a free version...
Would be more useful if Trails listed specified distance and allowed you to filter to list trails of min distance. Eg be nice to find trails in AZ of min 20 mi. Also how about a menu item for DIY repairs and maint.
Why not tell folks that there is no map in the free version up front? Stupid.
So trail apps are pretty kit or miss in general but this is by far the worst I've ever had the displeasure of using. It only allows you to explore trails in your immediate area, horrendous to try and navigate, and you can't copy text if someone posted a comment with a helpful link or if you want to copy directions. Any time I'm not on wifi it takes forever to load and simply impossible to use on the trail. I feel bad for those who were scammed $1 for the full version
