Rule-based approach to selecting carrier is cryptic. It will route any call you make through a voip, even if my regular phone would serve better. CSipSimple, which can't be installed any more, gave you interactively the choice of carrier at the time of a call. There is no better way.
What I like about this app is how it integrates with my contacts. The app gives me the option to dial a contact either from my cell phone or through my VoIP via the app - very cool! However, I have to subtract 3 stars because on the latest version which I installed there is no keypad, and all the other tabs for call Log, contacts, and groups are also missing. 3rd UPDATE: just tried reinstalling the app again but the same problems remain. Had to return back to ZoiPer.
Not sure why some knock this app. It's clean, simple, lightweight and reliable. Works well with both my upstream provider and my own home grown solution. Even offers features usually only found with "premium" VoIP clients. Even run this on older, low ended Android with limited memory as it's not bloated. Thanks dev! Stay safe and keep up the great work!
It doesn't play well with others. When I try to make a call using the phone's default, this app kicks in instead. The only way to make a phone call, thru the default, is to remove the app.
Been using for years. It was functional. Was forced to delete as it may have a vulnerability. My voip account was hacked. Not sure exactly how it happened. So I switched to another pre-existing account. Soon again it was hacked. Is the app leaking account info?
very unfriendly and confusing interface
All I want is a sip client which rings on incoming calls. I've tried about 8 so far and this is the ONLY one which runs properly in the background to receive calls.
Buggy at times. Call drops a lot. No loud speaker function. Mid call will rub on your cheek and you'll press things bc you can't use a loudspeaker. Used for years looking to switch to alternative Zopier
Bug on Android 8. All the options are missing while calling. Please update the app. I cannot use it.
Terrible UI. Crashes and freezes. Not opposed to paying for an app, but this one needs a full overhaul
Very good working sip app. Simples setup. No problem since 5 days use . If it can show the registration state at top notification bar will be great .
Works well on most phones. Failed to push it work on Huawei P30 Pro. Accounts can't be registered. Bug of EMUI??? Developers, please help to understand the reason!
Difficult interface, buggy, keep bringing up the Android settings to allow access to change systems settings.
This is an awesome app. Alas, on Android 10, it no longer pops to the front when there's an incoming call.
Only free application which won't let you down when it comes to receive calls. The application never sleeps and is always ready to serve.
My one issue with Sipdroid is that the keypad won't stay active during a call and makes it impossible to enter numbers with a 1.
Easy to use and works well with my FreePBX setup at home.
select a contact to dial and the app never dials.
Does not work on Android 10
Keeps on freezing .... not good
Goto sipdroid, settings, call options to fix preferred call type.. 👌
Call drops in less than 1min (voip)
Dodd not respond on android 10.
Newest bugs include sound never turning off if you don't pickup call. You will hear beep beep beep forever and ever.
Great app that I intend to use with desktop Sipgate (the two seem to synchronise well so far) BUT a major problem is the ringing tone. When a caller calls my (VOIP SIPGATE landline) number they hear what is an engaged tone in UK/Ireland and not a ringing tone. This is causing confusion and resulting in callers hanging up. Fix this and the app is great and will awarded 5 stars!
I've been testing SIP Phone Apps and was pleasantly surprised with this one. It's got a very low background battery usage and has been reliable out of the box. It's been reliable on a cruise, switching from wlan to mobile. Love it! Ultimately for me, it should get Push and multi accounts with seperate RingTones. Then it will take the lead.
