Skelly: Poseable Anatomy Model

Hey artists!
Tired of scouring the internet for reference material? Does the NSA think you’re a weirdo for looking up all those skeleton pictures? Got no-body to pose for you? Its going tibia ok, the Skelly app is just what you need! With the Skelly app you can literally pull the inspiration you need right out of your pocket anywhere, anytime!

Skelly is a fully poseable, anatomically correct reference skeleton for artists. A simplified version of the skeleton is also included, named “Robo-Skelly”. These figures were created to make the study of anatomy easier and more enjoyable for students and professionals without leaving your wallets bone dry. They can also be used to inspire poses for drawing, painting, sculpting, illustration, animation, comics, manga, storyboarding, twerking, and to fully understand the anatomy of the human skeleton. No need for super gluteus, Skelly comes pre-assembled and ready to pose as soon as you launch the app!

Learning the structure of the human body is the skeleton key to drawing the figure in an anatomically correct manner without having to clear your browser history to avoid awkward conversations with your loved ones. Whether you want to make works like Michelangelo or Miyazaki, Skelly will help you focus on your art and let you personalize his poses, rather than searching for reference material and hiring models. Learn to draw the skeleton from any angle without the inconvenient and morally questionable need to go grave robbing.

The developer could have set up the range of motion for each joint. For example, I wanted to observe how scapula pull backward, but when I was trying to move the scapula, it ran through the torso, which would never happen in real life. In fact, all the joints in this app can rotate 360°, but none of the joints in human body is like that. If you don't have solid anatomy knowledge, this app could be a bit misleading.

I'm a digital artist and I got this app specifically for the custom pose feature. I will say that the anatomy & clarity are good. And the pose library is decent. However, controls for posing Skelly yourself are in need of some upgrading. 1st off there is no lock function. You should be able to lock joints or the whole pose. And its hard to take a screen shot when you swipe & the whole pose moves. 2nd, the motion spheres are difficult to move and keep locking onto other joints. Not impressed.

Not a natural looking model. The range of motion of each body part is utterly unrealistic. Joints rotate 360 degrees and the is no reliable way to determine the actual movement of a person. Plus the model does not take into consideration weight of the body parts. So you cannot change the balance of the figure. Also I found frustrating that it's impossible to tilt the hips to achieve realistic poses. Overall quite a disappointment for the money.

This is awesome for reference, i have some suggestions though. It be great to have the camera rotation pivot to be infront of the camera using the closet body part for the pivot centre( at least for z down the camera view) would make camera setup easier, controls for the field of view on the camera too would be great. Straight up Fk mode is fine, but a quick edit IK mode for the arms and legs would be wonderful. Keep up the excellent work!

For what this app cost you'd think there would be a movable jaw, fingers and toes and a female model for drawing the female frame. As it is now it's really lacking features and feels I've wasted money. No updates since 2019, for a paid app I'd expect these simple things I've mentioned. I'll hold on to it a while longer to see what happens but I'm guessing nothing.

Love it. It's manipulations is easy & straight forward. I do wish it had more lighting options. And gestures to move from app to OS are touchy & it throws the camera angle when trying to get back to Android on the Pixel series. But for 6.99 it's worth it.

I like the concept and Proko is awesome. However, I can't seem to move the jaw open and closed or control the individual fingers of the hand. Important addition to assist visual reference study on movements or motion. Also a female version would be nice for proportional differences. Just saying, you should add this.

Really nice for pose references when drawing. Easy to use, and I like the simplified skeleton feature as a basic body outline. However, I wish you could change the proportions of the skeleton/bones though, to make it easier to visualize poses on shorter/taller characters and children.

Not bad, but lacking some features. Would love it if it had: 1.Camera controls, specifically FOV adjustment. 2. Ability to export images. Right now you have to take a screenshot. 3. Pose control sliders like arms up/back, torso & head twist, arm twist, hand grip, etc.

A very simple bare bones reference model. The product feature describing this model as being "fully poseable" is blatantly false. And the lack of finer articulation, labeling of bones, and option to display a transpanrency of a human body over the skeleton is dissapointing. For this price I expected at least articulation for the lower mandible.

Thanks for the refund.. these types of apps need manipulation speed adjustment coz its hard to get the hang of it. Proko doesnt seem to care about customer feedback on the app.. we want a muscle system with realistic limits to anatomy manipulation for the poses. Its time consuming to get the pose down when a slight touch makes the limbs fly. 4stars for the refund and skelly needs these improvements then i will gladly buy.

This app would be so much more useful if you could remove bones you weren't interested in. It is pretty tricky to pose the thing as well. Not sure its worth the money as it stands, might be ok to just save some static images and draw muscles over the top. Considering how good all of Prokos other content is, this is poor really.

I love this app, and it's really useful but there is something that I would love seeing and it's that it would be more helpful you muscles were added. So you could like toggle different muscles on and off and also see how they move when you rotate the posable skelly

Very awkward unintuitive panting/navigation options. Also, joints can be bent way beyond their natural limit, so in terms of "posing" not so great either. Still a cool app, but nowhere near the top-tier on the market

App is really helpful for figure drawing, but still it needs some more development in following areas; 1. Rotations of joints should be locked at extreme angles. 2.light transparent removable muscles can be added . 3.some skelly action animations can be the part of this app. 4.zoomed joint rotations with and without muscles can make this app really awesome.

Can be improve. Should have button for different side of view (e.g. right & left side view, reset view etc). Too hard to edit when some part is located overlapping. Having side bar to select which part to rotate will better than click on the part.

It would be even more helpful if we could take the bones apart and study them individually. I'm studying the human spine and if I could see the spine only from skelly and study it without the other bones, it'd be more helpful.

Please add option to modify feet and hands that would make this app so amazing. But so far pretty good app for poses.

Jes. S. Jan 30, 2021

Good: Accuracy of rotations. Bad: No female option, no mandible or finger movement, no fart sounds for when you click the pelvis.

Len. R. L. Nov 26, 2020

It's nice. But needs a lot more upgradation. To be able to save a newly created pose is one such feature to be added.

It would be lovely if the app was as good as your content. The app just doesn't look nice and doesn't work as advertised. If you act on all the customer reviews, this would be a much better app. I'm hoping you update this soon.

Very nice. Great for reference and drawing study. Looking forward to use it. A portable skeleton!!

Ken. C. Aug 12, 2019

it's a bit hard to control. Muscles should be included along with some limits to the bones' range of motions

Tyl. D. Aug 9, 2019

what's up with the rotation? it's super glitchy and I haven't been able to successfully manipulate the dude at all.

Nei. M. Jun 14, 2020

The resolution of the skeleton is quite low.....cannot find a way to save at a higher res....dissapointed.....

Dam. A. Nov 4, 2019

The youtube ad of this app shows the skeleton's fingers being posable (fingerguns, peace signs) but in the actual app, they are not.

Jun. L. Oct 26, 2020

i got very frustrated with the controls along with the lack of an undo/redo button.
